seeing that bishop move to take the queen the moment Hans moved the rook behind the bishop made me feel good and afterwards Hans not taking advantage of it I thought, wait, did I just instanly saw something 2 pros didn't? I can finally get out of 1700 elo, went on to play, got crushed by a 1670

Thanks Alireza, I have been following your games for many years, even before you got the French nationality. I love the Iranian culture but it must be so tough to live there. The first game against Hans was very interesting and I noticed the "blunder", losing the queen to Bh2+ and Rxe4 (about 3 minutes into the video). But then I looked a little deeper and Bh2+ is actually not a great move: Bh2+ Kxh2 Rxe4 Rxe4 and now the Knight on f7 cannot be captured: capturing with the King is met by Re7+ and capturing with the Queen is met by Rf4. So that Knight on d5 is doing a great job. Maybe Hans saw this and that's why he played Qxf7 instead of Bh2. You're amazing and I hope to see you gain the world title one day!

@@kevinwellwrought2024 generally a bar for entry of being a super GM is being 2700. Hans briefly crossed that barrier, but fell under it, currently standing at 2667. Plenty of top GMs lost to lower rated players, it does not qualify you as a super GM.

I've noticed when I passed certain ELO ratings my opponents will automatically think I have some weird trick in mind when I obviously blunder and "believe me", as Hans did you. Kind of a perk to having higher ratings....

Good stuff fom both players! Alireza needs a separate monitor at eye level so he doesn't have to keep looking down. He will only get better at this! It seems there can be more money in streaming than in actually being at the top of the world rankings. Go Alireza!

Here's the problem when you cheat: People will - ALWAYS cast a doubtful eye on you when you make a brilliant move - regardless. It's like a MURDER who's freed after 20 years. This was a lot of fun to watch especially after the taunting Hans was giving Anand. Yeah Hans has a lot of talent for sure but the prep-school wiseass is unbecoming on anybody. I enjoyed watching Alireza chill and calculate things out in his head and play some good chess. Thanks, fun to watch.

I've been monitoring your games for the last couple of years and the only flaw on your side of playing chess is that you can't overcome your stress sometimes, and you lose not because of your chess skill but because you can't overcome those stresses and pressures, if you work on that you will be the next Bobby Fisher

My valuable takeaway here is that blunder and bluff are closely connected if you act innocent. While this is not a brand-new insight, it gains substance every time it is so candidly demonstrated. They trust you :).
