Quitting drinking won't open the gates to heaven and let you in, but it will open the gates of hell and let you out.

7 weeks from tomorrow and its been very horrible but starting to gradually get better but not out of the woods yet. Speaking of woods did a long walk through woodlands yesterday and today and it helps a whole lot just to do long walks even if you really don't feel like it. The benefits are so great whatever you're feeling and whatever crazy thoughts and mind state you're in it helps so much. I've got agoraphobic issues from working from home too much and other reasons. I can be out but prefer places where not too many people about but if you can get somewhere where you can do long walks until you get really tired trust me do it.

For me, as a strictly heavy beer drinker, it was 28 days to be 80%. It was 40 days to feel 100%. I was an 8-10 beers per day drinker for the better part of 20 years.

for me it was maybe 7 days to 80%. the last 20% took 8 months or a year. The last 20 was mental issues, anhedonia and coming to grips with chemical related issues that persisted for a long long time.

You can't solve emotions by thinking about them. Action changes emotions and that changes your thinking. Not the other way around. Its called: In your head you're dead.

It gets better in the first 10 seconds money wise. Quite substantial in fact. A new car or lavish vacation is affordable without the cost of alcohol.

I know energy drinks are bad , but they have helped me . Mean to switch to borcas instead , waiting on them to come in the mail . Green tea also would be good for detox I guess . I don't feel sick 4 days without booze . Maybe a bit anxious from all the bloody caffeine if I'm honest with myself . I do eat quite healthy food . Trying to get rid of my arthritis , so I need to give the booze a flick . Normally I would of folded by now but I think I need to realize it's just a stupid idea and a huge waste of money also brain cells . low energy is probably lack of sleep I guess . I was telling myself life sucks without booze , then I suddenly clicked . It still sucks with booze , so what a waste of time and energy it really is . Bit jittery from energy drinks , but could be lack of booze . The people at the liquor store would of been like wheres that guy we always see lol . Can still have heaps of fun without booze , so I'm not missing anything but the hangover and lack of money . People I know would freak out if I told them I don't drink anymore , easy said than done tho . Going to save for a mountain bike , might help out a bit of exercise and sun . Sitting inside all the time in front of a computer screen cant be healthy . Half the reason I drink is because I'm bored . Can never hold jobs down because of my mental state also . Yeah you're right about wanting all this crap , so addictive wanting things all the time . I think we have all been brain washed .

Just a reminder. If you have faith in Christ remember that your faith in Christ isn't and shouldn't be determined by other people's attitudes and behaviors. You will find spiritually immature people in church, you will find mature believers as well. You will find people who were just dragged there and you will find those who truly love the Lord. If you happen to share some struggle of yours with those who believe in Jesus and you are told something that may offend you like "let go and let God" or "just surrender" or "God doesn't give you more than you can handle" etc etc try not to let that keep you from going to church ya know?? Remind yourself why you are there. Remind yourself that your relationship with Jesus is personal and your not just going to some "book club" . Be the person to others that you have always needed yourself regardless of what ever one else may be doing. You will find some genuine Spirit lead believers of Christ you just have to practice discernment and Remind yourself why you go to church. And FYI, if you go to church for attention or if your In need of status, being ego driven etc you will have the most difficult time because many others go for that reason and you will find yourself in competition with them. And I just want to remind you that God has no 2nd class children. He shows no favoritism. What Jesus did for you, He did for all. And once you start living through the identity He has for you in Him, it enables you to see others the way He does, through His sacrifice, through the Lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world. ✝️

@ShoKnuff96 amen .. sometimes when people make comments and smack their lips while talking about an experience they had at church, they make it seem like ALL believers are like that. It's really no different when people be like "F police" ... "I hate cops" etc. They crossed paths with a corrupted officer and now all of a sudden that one officer represents the whole police force.
