Hi, my name is Sahil and I run Headbanger's Kitchen here on KZbin. I started out as a heavy metal cooking show which eventually somewhere down the line turned into me making Keto Diet recipe videos because I was on the diet. A huge spike in my viewership due to those videos inspired me and kept me going on my Keto journey. Over time though I realized it wasn't the diet for me as I found it unsustainable and restrictive. Since I did it purely for weight loss I preferred to move over to something more sustainable for myself. And that's why in 2019 I stopped doing Keto. I continued to make recipes for a while as my numbers and audience dwindled and finally when it made no difference what kind of video I uploaded I stopped making new Keto video recipes.
Now I am focusing more on just good food, delicious food and dishes that can fit into almost any diet. If you like the show, do stick around. If I'm not your cup of tea anymore that's ok. I thank you for watching my videos and wish you all the best.
If you like the show, support us on Patreon: / headbangerskitchen
Don't forget to Like, Share and Subscribe! Thank you for all your support! \m/

Like many, I went off keto 2 years ago, gained back half the 50 pounds I lost on keto but more significantly, I became a borderline type 2 diabetic and a hardcore carb addict. I felt like crap. I'm back on track, in ketosis, feel great, and lost the weight I gained. Thank you for your huge contribution to the keto cooking space. We get your creative need to broaden your environment, and glad it's working for you. Wish I could but it doesn't work for me. Working out regularly now and never felt better. ROCK ON!

Just like you lose a ton of weight eating 20 or under net carbs a day, if you immediately go back into eating carbs like you were before you are going to notice weight gain, when you quit keto you should go off it slowly just like any restricted diet, you should also still avoid eating tons of sugar and carb filled breads, pastas, pizza and things like that unless you exercise heavily and can burn it off with no issues

It may not be a fashionable diet any more but keto is a big part of how I manage my fibromyalgia. I just bought your book and I love it. I'm very grateful for the wonderful archive of recipes you have left behind, and personally I love the heavy metal soundtrack. I still enjoy watching you even if I can't eat a lot of what you're cooking these days, just as I love watching other interesting creative people make things I don't plan to replicate myself. I hope you remain on KZbin, but I wish you a lot of success wherever your journey takes you.

It's an age thing for me, im 70. Up to the menopause I could eat anything and remain slim. 5 years into menopause my health was in decline. I was diagnosed T2D. Both my parents had T2D. I didn't want to have their later life problems. Keto was and is a lifesaver for me. I've tried increasing my carbs to 50 per day, my weight sped up to where I was before. Keto for me has improved my joint health, no more pain, no more drugs. I have a preference for the kind of food I ate as a child in the 1950s. That chimes with my Keto diet now. No pasta or rice, a wee slice of Sourdough bread with the occasional bowl of soup. I'm healthier and happier with my meat and two veg, occasional cold potato salad for resistant starch. I'm ket for life.

As a Keto content creator I'm here to say that I support Sahil, being a keto creator is difficult... He's always been supportive of me and my channel. I'm exploring the idea if keto is truly all or nothing... I don't think it is, I think metabolic flexibility should be a bigger focus than most in the Keto/carnivore space will acknowledge... Keep making great content Sahil, we'll keep watching!

I am one of those Keto lifetime advocates he mentions in the video... I can't do moderation, keto has given me my life back with being able to control my food intake... I understand that this is not the case for most people. If you can moderate that's awesome, if you can open a package of cookies and eat the serving size recommend for you and not blink and eat half the package then you are far more ahead of the game then I'll ever be... I think being able to explore oneself and discover your weaknesses and strengths and utilize those in your health journey and build the health journey around those, we'd be far healthier. That's what I've worked hard for over the 8+ years is working to mold Keto and how I eat around me, my strengths and my weaknesses!

@@texasgina I don't think it's an all or nothing thing... I look at it as consistency over perfection, I'm never going to be 100% but I'm still keto... I have planned "off keto" meals, I still consider myself keto... After 8 years I don't notice the lag of one meal or whatever... I think we become more metabolically flexible and can ease in and out of ketosis rather easy and fluid...

I have to say I started keto in 2018 and was insulin resistant since inside my.mother. Im so carb sensitive and was fat adapted. I believe humans need to go in and out of ketosis, store some fatnand burn it off. problem is most people dont moce their body or fast long periods to replicatenor eat a low.toxin dietmwith foods in same.form.as before. Body invasion of.pufa, Maltodextrin, msg and other excitable.compounds and processed.junk out body doesnt use well. Mamy sick.people cant thrive on any junk due to.a overresponse to food.products and additives. Im one of them. Seems as though 92% of north american adults are too based on a recent study Im a bit disappointed to be honest. I supported your music and switch to nonketo but this video makes it seem it was 100% about money and videos which gave me a bad taste. I'm certainly surprised by the tone I took from this video. It just feels like you wanted more money and a tax break tomgo out to eat.end if.story. Im super surprised you mentioned lean meat.. what did you learn about health of the body while doing keto and how does low fat remotely enter your thoughts!? Im.alsonsurprisedmto hearnyounwerenentering in and out of ketosis "alll.the time". Thats really not the intended layout and isn't super hard when the body is in a poor metabolic state. Not feeling well is a sign of metabolic inflexibility. In and out of ketosis is not sustainable, man. But mostly, DIABETES IS UNSUSTAINABLE. There is no moderation with product that shouldnt even be called food. For now im not unsubscribing but if I do im not announcing it. If thisnis truly thenstatenofnall.social media right now then its a sad world and makes me want to disengage from it.

I "relapsed" yesterday. I had fried chicken and worst of all, ice cream. I woke up, not feeling like death warmed over as I'd feared, but feeling pretty okay. Mind blowing! But i will go back to keto because it keeps my blood sugar at a level my doctor and i are pleased with. That was my reason for doing the keto diet in the first place. I was starting to feel completely out of control, however, and was really tired of just the same few things over and over. Your channel has helped, though, with your 3 ingredient meal videos. There are different things to eat now, and the variety and simplicity of the meals you've demonstrated are fun and appetising. So I subbed this morning, and will be watching as many recipes as I can in the future. Rock on, my friend, rock on. (Edited to take care of a whole bunch of typos.)

I’ve been keto since 2015. I love Indian food and thank you for all you gave the community. I’ve made many of your recipes. The hard part of Keto for me is that I have to cook all the time and need to plan. Eating in restaurants is a trial but doable. The lack of diabetes will keep me parked here. There isn’t one path for all. Best wishes for you on yours.

I resonate with this video and I have watched many of your keto shows, but watched a couple of people close to me do the keto diet with poor results, especially when they quit keto. I was 50 lbs overweight and in the last 3 years, lost that weight by eating mostly healthy things, but walking away from my plate and coming back later to eat it. Then I found out my metabolism told me I ate enough and didn't need more. I just ate some food, stopping to let it digest, and discovered I didn't want more food. I didn't gain that weight fast so I reasoned I should lose it slowly. In 3 years I lost a little more than 50 lbs and I did not suffer! I feel great, am at the right weight and keeping my weight steady. I think you have awakened to your body's true needs and you look great.

Thank you for the recipes and good luck with your future plans. I am still keto for quite a few reasons - it fits with being gluten free, it keeps me away from sugar and keeps me off bad oils, and thanks to the work done by so many keto channels like yours I've learnt to cook and bake in a way that keeps me healthy and happy. It's not a 'diet', it's just the way I live now. That doesn't mean I don't occasionally have something that's not keto - a piece of wedding cake or birthday cake, a glass of bubbly to celebrate, a bit of cake or biscuits baked by a friend - but in all honesty I don't need any of those things any more day to day. That's down to people like you making it so much easier for me, so I thank you for that.

The worst thing you can do is make any diet, your identity. It’s natural to try things, sometimes, it’s not going to work for the long haul. That’s okay! You have to do what works for you! If not, you end up with this(ruthless) cult following, that can and will try to ruin you, for changing. Keto/carnivore absolutely worked for me! But I’m not of the mindset of, “I eat to live” mentality. I love food! Taste, texture and diversity of cultural foods. I cannot be boxed in. Still following! Love your channel. Whatever diet you’re doing, good for you and best wishes! Change is good and okay! 💞 from Florida! ☀️

I started watching your channel because I was diagnosed as diabetic in 2017. Keto was useful to me because it was the only way at the time to control my blood sugar. Of course, I was also on several medications and going to the gym, but they weren't doing the job. It turned out several years later that I was a type 1 diabetic with a very slow onset (as is typical when you get it as an adult) and needed to quit all the type 2 diabetes drugs and start using insulin. This made a huge difference to my blood sugar and my health, and I found that I could eat carbs within reason and still have good control over my blood sugar. I still think keto was very helpful to me and can be for others - in fact I still make some keto meals, just not as an overall diet.

People get upset when you switch your niche. Like I follow a lot of art channels and when an artist changes their style they usually lose a lot of followers because the audience is used to one particular type of content. It makes sense. It would be like a company that made guitars suddenly start making kitchen appliances.

Powerful speech. Thank you. Keto diet or not.. you're doing great. I'm not against those doing keto diet. I just feel people do keto diet because they gained weight and they need to cut out and be strict til they become pregnant (women) then they may cut the keto diet. I'm not a keto diet person.. I eat whatever i want to as I feel like and do my water therapy, sleep well routine and do my walking routines. I also love veggies too.. and do my intermittent fasting. I just feel keto diets can be done twice a week and rest can be cheats.. as long as you're cautious of what you put in your mouth. Sugar is good but it shouldn't be always and almost every minute and everyday. Desserts can be served after meal and not in the morning time in an empty stomach. However let everyone do what works for him or her.

Sahil, I found your channel about 4 years ago when learning about keto. I would guess that 95% of people who live on any kind of diet float in and out of it for many reasons, though they may claim not to. That's ok. It's everyone's personal journey. I do the same between keto and carnivore, but I'm not perfect either. My son has a growing carnivore/keto channel (Chris Cooking Nashville) and is actually a country artist, performer and teacher in Nashville, Tennessee. I understand the work that it takes to run a KZbin channel and you do a great job. Last, my wife and I are real foodies and cook dishes from all over the world. We try to adapt them to being Keto or Ketovore the best we can because we enjoy spices and herbs that don't bother us. We love Indian dishes and are really enjoying your tour around India along with all of your great past content. Keep up the great work that is appreciated by us and so many others. 😋🤟👍

Not sure if this will get seen, but here is my experience. I've done keto before and i lost weight. The biggest thing keto did was lower my caloric intake. I was able to introduce other real did options, like some fruits. I find it easier to keep the amount of food easier when i do it that way. I'm also happier eating a lot less. I had back surgery two months ago so I'm not doing well with my food. But this worked for me using keto as a tool, not a lifestyle.

@dana102083

Its restrictive because people are carb addicts and insulin resistant amd eat.like.crap. Mamy people dont have any consideration for what their body needs for health. If the body doesnt have periods of fasting to obtain food as.we.had prehistorically, then periods of.ketosis are a must.to replicate that. Eating all.the time is a shame and based on marketing strategies and emotions, not on need. The adult obesity and diabetes, among.other metabolic based illnesses show how disgusting people eat. If your hga1c is 5.6 or higher theres a problem.

people need to understand that we are not identical clones of humans. when keto works for people it doesn´t for others. everyone needs to find out what works best for themselves and is doable at a daily basis. i lost weight with low carb in one summer. nearly 8 kilos, great. but it broke down during winter with different food cravings the body wants/needs,fresh food thats available or not in the store. then my bad habits taking control again and depression isn´t helping too with "overeating" or eating in general as coping mechanism. i try to make healthier desicions in what i eat but not as often as is wish. need to stick to it anyway and cook healthier without scolding myself too much for it.

I am not "keto" any more, but for me , I found that sugar is what makes me feel like crap. I keep sugar to a minimum. I have gone back to my roots. When I was young... back when the dinosaurs roamed the earth, most of the foods we ate were whole foods. Meats that would be cooked, veggies that were prepped and cooked and a meal was born. I have found that I feel better eating that way and I am happier. Like you said, all things in moderation that is the key. Oh, BTW, I am glad I watched till the end of your video, I love your music!! You guys rock!! Mike from Mass.

It's all about calories and what diet is sustainable. You'll gain weight on any diet if you eat too many calories. The only diet that's ever really worked for me is omad one meal a day. Because I just find it way too easy to overeat and I don't really have as much time to do exercise like I used to. I still get like 10,000 steps a day but it's not enough. Most foods are just really high in calories and if you snack in between meals the calories add up. So I just find it easier to maintain my weight eating once a day. But I love food. That's why I was like overweight in the past but I think it was like a mental thing. I would just binge all the time because like I'm stress and anxiety disorders.

@@SimplyHuman186 I know everything about calories. I know certain foods that are healthy like protein will make you lose weight because the thermic affect the food. If you eat empty calories like chips, you'll gain more weight from the chips because they'll make you feel less hungry and you'll eat more of them. But I've tried most diets. Keto carnivore and when I ate the same amount of calories I would gain or lose the same amount of weight. The reason that some people find keto or other diets better is because they don't feel hungry because those needs don't trigger them to overeat. If you eat a lot of junk food, it won't make you feel full and you'll want to eat 20 minutes later. But if you can control your cravings and don't overeat, you won't gain weight on whatever diet you do

1000 calories of carbs VS 1000 calories of fat and protein vs 1000 calories of nuclear waste. You should be able to understand the vast difference in these. Obviously it's not only about calories. It's what form of calories and what that will do to Your body. 1000 calories of carbohydrate will In fact spike blood sugar in turn spiking insulin signaling to store this fuel. You'll then be hungry as the fuel is being stored not used ( unless you do some intense exercise to quickly rid of the excess) so you'll be hungry with out access to ketones.

Abstract In the past 2 million years, the hominid lineage leading to modern humans evolved significantly larger and more sophisticated brains than other primates. We propose that the modern human brain was a product of having first evolved fat babies. Hence, the fattest (infants) became, mentally, the fittest adults. Human babies have brains and body fat each contributing to 11-14% of body weight, a situation which appears to be unique amongst terrestrial animals. Body fat in human babies provides three forms of insurance for brain development that are not available to other land-based species: (1) a large fuel store in the form of fatty acids in triglycerides; (2) the fatty acid precursors to ketone bodies which are key substrates for brain lipid synthesis; and (3) a store of long chain polyunsaturated fatty acids, particularly docosahexaenoic acid, needed for normal brain development. The triple combination of high fuel demands, inability to import cholesterol or saturated fatty acids, and dependence on docosahexaenoic acid puts the mammalian brain in a uniquely difficult situation compared with other organs and makes its expansion in early humans all the more remarkable. We believe that fresh- and salt-water shorelines provided a uniquely rich, abundant and accessible food supply, and the only viable environment for evolving both body fat and larger brains in human infants.

@@jeannievail because Sahil stated he was going back to the debunked nonsense of “calories in, calories out, and “eat less move more”, which simply doesn’t work in the long term, and as an influencer he’s dissing keto as a fad, which it certainly is not! I would urge you and him to do a bit or a lot more research into why keto, and the sub set of keto, carnivore are so much better as a PHD (Proper Human Diet) than anything else; CONSUMED carbohydrate (AKA sugars) are dangerous, since they are extremely addictive, they get burnt first before any fat you consume leaving the fat to be stored as visceral fat on your organs, leading to liver and kidney problems later on, regardless of your weight! If keto was just an option to lose weight I’d understand you trying something else, but it’s NOT. It’s protecting you from chronic ill health later on in life, there are plenty of case studies of people who are very active exercise wise but who’ve suddenly become diabetic or got heart disease or other such chronic diseases, all caused by a poor, sugar loaded diet

I disagree with your assessment about Sahil. He’s not misleading his viewers. He’s correct about keto being a very all or nothing diet. He specifically said he wasn’t trying to discourage anyone from eating keto and even reminded people that he still provides over 400 keto recipes on his channel. He also mentioned that there are still loads of keto products available in grocery stores. It’s just the keto recipe channels that have taken a hit. Eventually I stopped Keto and that's why I started making other videos. But since I had a Keto audience I did continue to make some Keto videos for as long as I could for that audience. Also just an FYI all your Keto recipe creators and websites need views from people to stay afloat and make a living so they can give you more of what you want. I chose to not stick to Keto just for the views or the money. I made Keto videos because my audience wanted them. When it stopped making sense for me I stopped.
