It is hard to get out there and get notified. I have bee on KZbin for years and I still am nowhere close to being full time. That said it is inspiring to see people out there making it.

I have another channel I started 14 years ago, under another niche, It never took off the way I wanted it, Ive concluded its all luck, but its okay to be inspired too, you never know when its your time.

Looking forward to seeing the Asia travels! I totally agree about wanting to share your travels. Although I do travel with my younger children, a partner who has the same love for travel would be great! As for the job, getting an online job is easier said than done, at least for me..I’ve worked as a medical professional. It was more so hands on so I had to make the decision to leave my career, for a few reasons. During those times, traveling was so easy minus requirements. We were able to go to quite a few countries that I never considered! Looking to get to a few that you’ve mentioned soon. We’re in Latin America preparing for that.

@@Paintyourlifestyle We’re in the country where you were first stranded in🙂 it’s where we are from. Yes, with two actually. It’s great because we’ve lived on three continents and the Caribbean. We haven’t moved around a lot in the last year.. just four countries but it’s still worth it. My goal is to live abroad for good.

I will say your content truly inspires a lot of the things that I do with this platform. I never learned how to edit and create videos formally so its good to see someone of your skillset do it always pushes me. Another great point you made was about being acouple. That is one thing that I believe has really helped me because if anything else it motivates me and holds me accountable. Brother your videos are great but it’s kind of just all over the place. I suggest finding a specific niche/branding story For example you made the video about what it’s like being black in Egypt. Get a niche of black people that have the same concerns you used to have. Make videos like, what it’s like being black in china, Vietnam etc. these places don’t have many black people and it makes you stand out a lot more and get an audience of black people that like to travel but are scared of the racism or any other concerns like that. You’re doing good brother, keep your head up and don’t give up. With every video, take something you can improve on. I suggest reading the KZbin formula by Derral Eves. It teaches everything you need to know

I had to stop watching for a moment (good video by the way) - you said that maybe your skin color hold your content because "people that look like you are not making travel content" - then take it as your so called "hidden advantage" (that's what I heard from some youtuber). Hey thanks for taking the time to reach out, listen and engaging with my video, I think SEO has alot to do with the probability of been seen, when I first opened this channel 3 years ago, My titles were pretty bad, even now I still struggle with the titles lol. In the back of my mind I often feel like because of how I look holds my content back from people seeing me. I feel like for me to earn a subscriber, the person has to really respect my work, It feels so heavy vs what I've seen where people half ass and grow Blue check verified overnight lol. But you are also right in another area of Hidden Advantage, I've been told that too, really depends how you market yourself.

Jermaine Ellis is black. He did a bunch of travel solo videos and was successful in getting thousands of subs from it. So, it's not about ethnicity. Look him up here. He lives in San Francisco. He doesn't make travel videos anymore. Maybe he ran out of cash? But anyways, he makes low quality videos. Just uses a GoPro and his phone.
