There’s no way the Noble Natties deserve to be in the same tier as Coach Greg… all of them should go straight to at least low A, and imho Alex Leonidas deserves S. Although he’s not “scientific” per-se, he gives tons of detail and information, and is a huge advocate for sticking to basic, time-tested exercises while also shining light on other options/ variations. He also makes content for all experience level, from advanced lifters with overuse etc. to pure novices. My case for NH is just that he’s witty and has interesting perspectives on all sorts of topics, and his advice is usually very solid and informative.

What GVS, NH, AD, BB, Bromley do (even to an extent Dr Mike) is promote a philosophy/principles that has worked for them, and teach you the importance of developing one for yourself. They all keep an accurate understanding of science evidence base in mind, as well as contextualize it with other valid evidence. It's important because scientific evidence is necessarily by its methods generalised and can't be specific to you. If you just do whatever the latest study says, regardless of what's been working for you and/or you never find out what factors are truly important for you (because of this), you'll get capped at intermediate. I don't know if Wolf, Nippard etc. know this or intentionally aim to keep their viewerships trained to be like this so they can keep them within their intermediate pipeline. Unable to think for themselves and a slave to someone interpreting the latest general findings for them.

Yah I have a really hard time with Dr. Mike not being in S-tier. I think the gripes you have with him are minimal AND when you’ve spoken to Mike about this he’s given you nuanced viewpoints where he asserts that he does not put things like pump and soreness front and center but simply uses them as tertiary variables that have SOME significance (which I feel is very hard to argue against) Edit: after seeing Jeff put in S-tier and Dr. Mike not I’m genuinely taking issue with this and it’s making me question a lot about where you’re at mentally. Especially given what you cited as your issues with Mike bcuz if you wanted to be that pedantic you could find 100 things you disagree with on Jeff’s channel (many if which Mike has corrected Jeff on in their collab content) 😢 I feel like being VERY familiar with the content of many of these channels (and yours) I can’t help but feel that you’ve been unnecessarily harsh on some and unfairly easy on others… This may lead me to not look on your content henceforth as favorably as I had (sorry that none of that is very science based) but its the experiential variables I’m struggling with right now…

I think you're being a bit more contentious than required. For instance, i have not seen much of the content from Menno, but saying that not having a sports science background disqualifies him would be akin that yourself not having a Maths/Statistics background disqualifies you from trying to interpretat statistical data. In that respect, i think you quickly considered that the latest meta analysis on training to failure was the gold standard while the recent study on the topic has kind of challenged that and i thinkyou have softened the tone (which is fair, and can happen to anyone). Meanwhile, Menno always considered that that meta analysis was not as reliable as previous ones, which are more aligned to this latest evidence... But i don't see him or others posting vídeos saying you can't interpret evidence. Tbf, the results of that meta analysis were so wild compared with previous status that it probably required a bit more scepticism.

Disagree. Sticky Ricky is clearly very knowledgeable about lifting and has more training experience in his right pec than most of us have in our entire body. Besides that, bugez isn't against science he's just against the proliferation of bs and then that nippard tier list video got way more views than most of his stuff which encouraged him to shit on jeff more. Besides that, his most salient critiques of Jeff's tier lists are things that milo would agree with, like how Jeff Nip calls his tier lists science based but then bases much of them on his own opinion of how a movement feels, or imagined injury risks that don't occur for anybody with half a brain (like his guillotine press hot take Lmaooo). Bodybuilding is way more than volume studies and lengthened partials. It’s super biased to rate everyone from that lens. I could succesfully argue the above are of lesser consequence than a focus on technique or nutrition. You never discuss neither, so are you D tier? I get it’s your list, but rating by one aspect you focus on and brushing asside literally everything else the guys you rate do an awesome job at … is pretty unfair.

I think what you say about Dr. Mike is legit. I would also say that a lot of his content is just churned out and repetitive these days. His actual information density has been trending downward for a couple of years. People saying he needs to be in S tier... I get it, but Jeff Nippard and Layne Norton say mostly the same stuff with less wasted time and repetitive content farming.

Jeff Nippatd definitely does many repeatable things just like Milo does. Mike also does not tell people that muscle soreness and pump are great indicators of muscle growth. He just basically says you can't rule that out or that if you are feeling sore or have the pump in a different muscle, then that could be an indicator that you are doing something wrong.

RP should have easily been #1. They have like 30 different playlists for every one's different needs and interests. He also constantly promotes other fitness channels, has guests that might have different opinions from his and is always open to updating his views when presented with new evidence. I'd say that the few people who complain about his humor are folks who don't understand the value of disguising education as entertainment - there are many who might not have sat through all the hours of what are essentially online lectures if there wasn't an outrageously funny joke every once in a while to "refresh" their attention span.

Don’t agree with this list too much, but I’m going to be honest it sounds like you’re kinda salty about some of these guys being called “noble natties.” I think a few guys def deserved to be higher. You have to realize, some of us don’t want to sit here and watch “scientific” videos 24/7?, sometimes just personal experience about working out helps a lot more and I’d argue gets most of us normal gym people gains because we don’t have to worry about choosing and deciding certain exercises and what works one tricep head more than the other, we just want something that works out the tricep. Take Alex Leonidas as an example, he’s above average for information/advice and will get the average gym goer and advanced gym goer to get stronger and better. But I still like the list.

I think there's a little bit of a "U-shaped" appeal and value of Dr. Mike. As a beginner, it's fun and he has lots of great context setting and practical advice. Then, it's easy to get pulled into Jeff and Milo et al that don't like talking about something unless there's strong research evidence. But the more I watch Dr. Mike, I appreciate how willing he is to change his position based on new evidence, how carefully he is to say that there's a variety of possibilities of outcomes for any individual, and we need to complement the research probabilities with the conditional probabilities of personal experience/feedback, and just how nuanced and practically minded his views are. And AFAICT his personal workouts reflect his latest understanding of the science, AND what works for him (which he shares). Plenty of room for everyone, but I'd put Dr. Mike over say Dr. Pak, from a value + entertainment perspective, any day.

Athlean-X has really helped me with some injuries. At this point I trust him more than any other fitness KZbinr. There was 1 mistake in his material that another KZbinr pointed out and I agree with, but generally my intuition is that these small-name channels are mainly going after him for clout. Jeff Cavaliere always explains his reasoning in minute detail, and his logic almost always seems solid. Since this seems to be a space where Jeff isn't particularly popular, maybe someone can provide a few examples of Dr. Wolf's assertion that "until recently, most of (Athlean's) information was wrong in some capacity". Who knows, maybe I need to revise my opinion of the guy.
