Also a good chance Dad just doesn't want to be inconvenienced or lose money bc of this. He probably doesn't get why she can't just get over it, so no one has to deal with the fallout especially since it's not a physical affair as far as she knows. Dad doesn't care her marriage and life just imploded.

@akplmn The Bible says that men are not sinning when they have sex with other women. They only sin if the other woman is married, and the only betrayal is between the man and the husband. Only women are expected to be faithful in marriage.

@@CaraJohnson01 Sorry, no. The man does not sin if he is unfaithful to his wife. For men, adultery is when they sleep with another man's wife. A married man who sleeps with single women and prostitutes is not sinning. The only obligation the man has is to care for any children that he sires. Women's bodies belong to their husbands, they are property, and they must submit in all things, including infidelity and abuse. Men are encouraged to try to be patient, but there are no rules against infidelity and abuse and zero consequences. A woman cannot divorce or escape for any reason, ever, but a man can divorce his wife if he suspects her of impure thoughts. Christian marriage is not a good deal for women. It was never intended to be. Biblically, women are talking cattle, livestock, interchangeable and easily replaced. Preachers and priests lie and tell women "he has to love you as long as you behave" but never define what "love" means, and there is no mention of respect.

Fifty years ago, my husband of 12 years came home one day and said “ I’ve met someone, one month ago, an I love her and I want to Marry her”. There are no words to describe the chaos in my mind! In summary, i picked myself up. Got a job on Monday, a lawyer on Tuesday and a shrink on Wednesday. To cut to the chase I had a wonderful corporate career, met a wonderful man who helped me raise my two boys…..but until I listened to you…..Now feel I did the right thing. I am 81 and I keep the pain in a separate box. And occasionally take it out……it feels. Awful! Thanks for your show!

My husband had an affair just after our son was born, and I found this out on our wedding night. I was so devastated. It was so traumatic and wasnt an immediate split because the shock and trauma were so bad. Overnight I lost my new husband, my little family and my job because we all worked for the same ambulance service, but 17 years on, i can say that splitting up with him was the best thing ever. My son and I have had the best life. The 1 bit of advice is not to take his behaviour as your responsibility. I spent years thinking that I must have not been good enough and that wrecked my head for years. Now I understand he is just a selfish man and doesn't care about anyone but himself.nothing to do with me..

I really hope her family hears this 💔 if I was this women’s mother I would have ripped my husband to pieces for his response. The lack of family support is heartbreaking. My husband and I started a family business with a few of our married children, one of the spouses was unfaithful & after counseling we all decided that it would be best to drop everything and help her get through this divorce. The divorce was ugly, we lost the family home that we had gifted them on their wedding day which was the house my children grew up in and we lost our business. We gained so much more, it made us a STRONGER family and created a much stronger bond between us. We have no regrets. My daughter and my grandchildren are so much happier. With the spousal support that my daughter was awarded she started her own business and till this day continues to see a therapist to heal from the abuse and unfaithfulness. Two years later my husband and I started new business’s. Money should never keep you from doing the right thing.

The world teaches that if you as a wife aren’t giving your husband sex on demand, and doing whatever creative things it takes to keep him happy, then he will undoubtedly turn to porn and/or cheating to get his fill. That it’s the woman's fault if he cheats because she isn’t having enough sex with him. I find this so gross, to say that men are such sex addicts that they can’t go without sex while their wife is recovering from birth or having an intensely stressful time. I think spouses should do their best to keep their sex lives healthy, active, and intimate, but if there are life circumstances such as illness or responsibilities, the other spouse should be able to go without and not hold resentment for the person.

Because you probably got attached mentally and emotionally. It’s physiological wiring, hormones, brain’s “habit” of having him around. Now that he is out of your life abruptly, it causes senses in your body similar to withdrawal. Because it actually is a form of it. You need time and good stressors in your life - gym, career change/upgrade, moving, new friend group (can find through meetup app). Something that requires a lot of focus and time, ideally also new people in your life. That way you won’t have time to think about him. The more time you have to ruminate, the more you strengthen that neuron pathway in your brain, the harder it is to get over it. You should be angry, it’s healthy, you’re not a doormat. Also, maybe you’re worried deep down that he would change if given the chance. Trust me - he wouldn’t. I’m so proud you’re smarter than me and dumped his cheating arse without giving the 2nd chance. Imagine putting another 2, 3 ,5 years into it and finding out it happened again. You never knew the real him. The side that’s a dealbreaker for you. We usually miss non-existing potential and the fantasy we had of them. Use that anger energy to upgrade your life.

I've been through the same. Betrayal trauma is a very real thing, but with good therapy and growth mindset the pain will subside and you won't feel heavy anymore, I promise. Cheating is unfathomable to people like us, the pain it caused was one of the worst I've felt like you say. But I detached, left the memory behind and put all my energy on positive things, while the guilt consumed him. Let's derive hope precisely from the fact that there are people like us who stand their moral ground, and that's to be proud of no matter how unfairly hurt you were before. See your kindness as something to be nurtured and protected from unhealthy people and don't look back. You can always start again with your head high and values intact, and learn something along the way. Cheaters are deeply messed up emotionally and push away their empathy as they cannot cope with their own shame and emptiness, tell yourself the damage they have inside is way more insidious than the trauma they create. Stay strong, you will get through this sooner than you think ❤

I was legally separated from him when our daughter was six weeks old. The betrayal was unbearable.its been 20 years since this happened. I have no regrets. I really hate women who knowingly have an affair with a married man, they are the worst among us. The argument that you can’t break up a happy home is weak and dismissive. Relationships have ups n downs you don’t prey on someone during a moment of weakness.

Men do this because we spare them the vitriol and reserve it for the women. Two things can be true. The mistress is awful. However, HE violated his vows to you. He slept next to you and it was a lie. He put your physical health at risk and cheating is emotional abuse. Men do this because they know we are so desperate we will humiliate ourselves by fighting over them instead of making them feel the full brunt of their deserved consequences. My partner cheats? I am out. I am not going to look for her. I don’t care about her. HE broke his commitment to me. I will do my darndest to ensure that I leave such a mark on him - he never does it to the next woman. I have been down this road - I left with my dignity intact. I moved on because I did not delude myself into thinking he would be faithful if he had not crossed paths with her. She represents the opportunity that he chose.

@@Galworld761 Agreed. Women are too quick to blame the other woman. The man decided to cheat, it would have been anyone 'up for it'. Most men are dogs, and they think they can have the best of both worlds, until they get found out, it's their dirty little secret, and they don't care about anyone but themselves.

Run, girl. Get an attorney and destroy him in court. Get the people in your corner to support you and cut out the rest, even if includes your dad. I went through it seven years ago and there is life after. But right now, take the gloves off and do what has to be done. There's no other way.

I’m simply flabbergasted that the father is siding with the “bro”. My dad, when baby girl came home crying over some guy (and it was a cheating husband, eventually)? He was done with the guy. Completely. My dad could be crusty, but I never, ever had to doubt he was on my side. Thank you, Dad. I love you and miss you.

Not if this (cheating) is the actual reason... it may be liable for a wrongful termination. The father should just fire the son-in-law without a listed reason. At-will and nothing more.

I think that you can fire for no reason but not any reason. For example, you can fire a pregnant woman just because but if you fire her because she's pregnant then you have a problem/lawsuit on your hands.

Divorce divorce divorce. Breaks my heart but tell your father that your peace of mind and your kids future is at risk. How can you raise your daughters and ask them to have self respect. Time to end things. It doesn't matter why. Also cheaters will always the other person "you didn't show me love. You didn't tell me this or that." If you have little kids, you don't have energy for anything else. It is surival mode. The thing is he doesn't sound remorseful.
