Thanks for the review, brother. I learned a bunch from this key. The roll off the ship happened because for the first time since dragonflight launched I was using Old Flight style (ironically using dragonriding caused havoc in the first dawnbreaker I did because I got lost and went to the wrong entrance of one of the buildings where a miniboss was so (I think it was Amanda) a veiwer suggested I switch flight styles in the dungeon and It worked well but ironically my roll key is 3 and so is my up key for dragonriding. So on instinct I hit the up key realizing as I pressed it my mistake and went "Kop-ing" off the ship to my death. Lol I laughed my butt off because I was already pretty sure that I would be sending it in to you for review. I stand by what I said though, if the Tank had broached the subject of stopping I would have supported him, if he had asked for help I am CERTAIN the group would have helped, but he took essentially the coward's way out by feigning offline. Which is a shame because we BOTH had tons to learn from that key. You are probably right about saving that one boss pull thought, Even with touch of karma fort brew and diffuse magic it might have been too much but if I COULD have lived through the tank buster he was essentially just a rare out in the world with that much health who knows. It would have been epic either way. Lol. Thanks again bud I will keep submitting them anytime I find fun stuff for you.

Excellent review of Kop's key! I had fun mythic plus-ing with Kop that day and healing the keys on my holy priest (now disc priest). Seeing the key from Kop's dps monk POV and your commentary, I can really see where the tank went wrong. As a healer, you're looking at health bars, the ground and dangers around your character and when this tank in particular kept dying I was questing playing holy priest, haha. I had a good laugh Metro. Keep them coming Kop, this is good stuff!!

I have heard this fight is really challenging for bears. My best guess is this bear needs reps on this boss. Managing CDs is very important. Ironfur won't help you. So you have to rely on Iron skin, barks kin, and rage of the sleeper. But I don't think the recommended builds use the second charge of Ironfur or the CD reduction talents. And I am not sure it uses RoS. I just... Refuse to drop my RoS. And also, it looked like he went druid of the claw. Not very great in m+. It sounds good on paper, seemingly doing more dps. But you can't shift to cat in a dungeon. And it doesn't have the defensive props of the moonfire build.

Fantastic content that shows the insanity of these low keys. My new Evoker is doing baby keys and I'm actually envious that I haven't yet had a disaster of an experience to submit to you. Yeah, timing the keys are great but and I love gear. But I also love trainwrecks. This was a trainwreck and by the way, bears are the hardest tank to heal right now. They die quickly.

Regarding why the tank lands on the back of the little ship before first boss - I do this too. The main reason is that It's a safe place to land without aggroing the mobs, so you can make sure everyone made it over before starting, particularly the healer. For the first boat that is moving, falling through the ship is a common thing, so landing on back and making sure the party is successfully landed and present before starting is just being safe. Its a habit developed because seen too many bugs and fall-throughs on Dawnbreaker that I prefer to add a few seconds there for safety than to risk a wipe and people likely leaving. The second boat is usually stopped so you dont necessarily need to stop on the back but it doesn't hurt to make sure the entire party is there before pulling and avoid face-pulling the packs.

Big thing some one pointed out as that you can't land on the trash as a bear because you aren't in bear form when you are flying, so fair point on that. Otherwise I imagine this scenario to play out quite often. The times I fall through the boat or whatever, some one always aggros the trash by accident by just not flying accurately.

For the *tank* to go directly into the mobs, I think that's probably OK, but even still I'd want to make sure I have defensives prepped before just letting mobs have free swings on me while mounted. But for DPS or healers to go straight into the mobs, that just makes zero sense to me why anyone would be doing that this late in the season. We have all seen people fall through the boat, it's always a possibility that the healer or someone doesn't land right away, why would dps or healer go directly into the mobs when they dont even know if the tank made it? I see this all the time and baffles me every time.

Deja vu for me. Early in the season was crest farming 4 keys and had a bear tank that literally was getting one shot each time the beam went out. Like we had 35 deaths to that boss and we just called it. The tank couldn’t figure out their defensives for whatever reason. Wild.

Not M+, but LAST NIGHT, 1 of our MAIN TANKS for Raid gets asked if he plans on tanking in Season 2. He responds "I feel like I finally understand how to Bear tank after this season, so yea." We had problems with him all season, but it's a casual guild so Raid Lead never really said much to him about it until we noticed some gearing issues a few weeks ago and helped him fix them. I, and I'll assume MOST of the Guild, was under the impression this guy had been tanking for years with the way he talked about it. I guess this also explains our 297 pulls on Heroic Queen now...

@@Telados No idea, but it took from like week 3 after raid release till.. now.. for him to apparently figure it out. 🤣 We kept having issues keeping him alive in Heroic before I finally noticed his ilevel was like 20 BELOW everyone else in the raid (wearing a Hallow's End event ring ffs, missing enchants, blue gear.. it was wild.) and screenshotted his gear and sent to the raid lead. We got him into some mythics and target farmed for him to fix him up.. but after hearing him say that, I'm honestly no longer stoked about a new raid. 😐

I kinda feel for people who try picking up tanking. As a dps and even healer it is significantly easier to learn from your mistakes - you die -> all good, group keeps going and now you know you needed to dodge/bait/defend/CD/interrupt/whatever. You can also learn as you go, and with some specs save yourself after screwing up. With tanks its not like this. You can't recover from mistakes. Your rotation and CD usage are entirely preemptive. You can't recover from unmitigated damage, its already been taken, too late to use CDs, conserve resources or in this case reposition. Of course this is good, fun and very rewarding gameplay but it takes significantly longer to master, which can be frustrating.

Ya way higher stress. We talk about this all the time and point to it making tanking the hardest role despite any mechanical complexity of other roles. Every other player can die and you can still continue. But if the tank dies you are looking at a few seconds more of combat at most.

Bears feel squishy AF in low keys as a healer main. Same.with DHs. Mostly because they mismanage their CDs or because theyre getting casted on constantly. its pretty common for them to charge in without Barkskin or anything and die before they even get one stack of ironfur up.

Bears are squishy at pull but any defensive should be enough to survive a +5. First death the tank pulled the second pack at around 50% health. And it looks like they died from just auto attacks. So I think they just ran in unprepared with no CDs popped while gathering one of the toughest pulls in the dungeon. Almost all the tank deaths from this clip appear to be the tank not using any form of defensive CDs. So probably not a bear issue rather than the tank's skill.

Bear is pretty sturdy, but only if you're using something like Barkskin or Rage of the Sleeper on pull and quickly getting your ironfur stacks up. Barkskin is on a 45 second CD so they should be using it at the start of nearly every pull unless they're holding it for a tankbuster. I also suspect they weren't using frenzied regen nearly enough; the cooldown on it is a bit of a lie since there is a lot of CDR and has a chance to not consume a charge if you talent into Layered Mane (which is currently taken in the meta build). I see that the healer commented that the bear was really squishy and required some babysitting so the bear was likely unaware of their self-healing tools, or they were afraid to put them on cooldown. They might want to stick to 2s and 3s until they get comfortable with bear's kit; it can be a bit overwhelming to people just learning the spec and it's possible that the bear was suffering from decision paralysis at some points.

If you're overgeared your massive health pool can carry you easily enough, but if not you need to be at least somewhat competent in rotating your cooldowns to not get deleted. - especially when there is a lot of magical damage since their active mitigation (ironfur) just grants pure armor.

They have a pretty massive health pool and a lot of self healing through Frenzied Regen, Renewal, Heart of the Wild, and Lunar Beam so as long as they're mitigating autos they can usually outheal the magic damage. Some magical tankbusters can be a bit brutal if you're inexperienced or unprepared though.

damn that's kinda crazy, i'd love to know his ironfur uptime tbh. the biggest thing I see and other people tend to mention it too, is ironfur uptime on bears that tank for them is considerably low. iron fur is your base defensive mitigation and you build it by burning rage which is your primary resource...something he's not gaining being so far away. something to note tho is the tank's health is only like 7.4mil - as a 638ilvl bear tank my base health pool is almost 12mil so dude was definitely very undergeared but most of these situations are livable even at a higher key with that health pool, and with well timed mitigations.

My experience when healing bears is that their hp moves the most after DK. They take a lot of damage, but also heal a lot. They are very weak at the start of a pull, and most of them almost get globaled every time. It is very scary for a healer, and you can't really give them an external for every pull. The problem with them is that they are promoted as the simplest tank and attract people who do not know how to play very well and severely mismanage their defensives. The amount of bears I have seen that do not stack ironfur is way too high, although I blame Blizzard for that. I think people still have this idea that druids are just tanky by default and do not really need to do anything, because you could do that before but that is no longer the case. An example of this was just yesterday, where a 635 and 2.8k IO druid got killed by the crush tankbuster in GB on a +10 about 5 times. No barkskin, no survival of the fittest, no nothing. I have no idea how he got to that point playing like that, but it is not unusual for bears to play very poorly.

@@heythereguysitsMetro Contrary to something like BDK, there is a really big difference in how valuable secondary stats are for bear and Crit has almost no defensive value for bear and is always the worst stat (also not good offensively) and versatility is a big part of how bear deals with magic damage. Since you can't have a CD running all the time, you deal with magic dmg by having a lot of health, high versatility and high self healing. Bear is a HP sponge and versatility works well with that even if you don't play well.

They buffed bears a bit this expansion. They can now Damage Reduction + AOE Threat with Ironfur if they spend a talent point buffing it. Before if you dumped Rage into Ironfur you stayed alive but did no AOE threat. I never went past +5 with them ( +10 past expansions ) , since i was spending all my rage on threat ( AOE swipes ) and it was a struggle to stay alive.

You generally use your pre-incarn on the first pull, and then save your real incarn for the 2nd pull, because the 2nd pull is far worse. You can see that he doesn't get a pre-incarn off at the start of the key (no orange aura under him), so he's using his real incarn on the first pull, leaving him dry for the 2nd. If you're not familiar with that dungeon, you normally press incarn on CD, so that's an understandable mistake. It's not magic damage so much as the bleed (and likely not using frenzied regen or cooldowns) that kills him on the 2nd pull. The ship landing you called ridiculously conservative isn't that bad -- if your healer gets lost or doesn't land with you, you can't self-sustain on that pack, because it's spam-cast web bolts and the commander's bleed -- I've died through incarn on that pull when I was well ahead of my healer. But yeah, his deaths on the first boss are just him being a novice tank. The boss doesn't hit very hard, so its not that important to generate rage/ironfur stacks, but you need to be using your strong cooldowns on the tank buster, and the tank isn't doing that.

I play Guardian on 3k atm, they need some help on dps and magic damage resist. On higher keys its rly rly challenging man. Im alting a naked prot paladin, and yeah, its worlds apart on low keys with all you can do to cover the group (and your own) fails. And your CR as guardian, uses 40 rage, thats half you rage bar and blizz refuses to lower it for some odd reason, even thou they reduced the mana cost of it on other spccs.

Bear is very durable tank atm., weak to big magic hits but that's a problem they've always had, but a lot of bears are stupid and don't use their cooldowns or even their ironfurs properly, in which case bear dies extremely fast. But what tank isn't that true for? I've seen bears do everything from not using beam on cooldown, to not using incarn on cooldown, to not even casting ironfurs, not to mention less obvious mistakes like pulling with no mitigation active which is borderline like pulling in caster form; all of these are catastrophic mistakes that healers can compensate for in very low keys by spamming the tank, but quickly the damage ramps to the point where the guy just dies instantly no matter what because he never learned how to play.

I've recorded things with game bar before, it's like Xbox game bar that's built into Windows, and it didn't have the best performance when I played it back. I have a good PC, Intel 14700k i7 with an RTX 4080 GPU. Do you recommend a certain piece of software for recording?

Druid was supposed to be meta tank but came second after warrior, then 11.0.5 came and pala became meta. I played bear for a bit, health bar was jumping a lot. Also druid needs a dk to grip shit.

Offlining seems to be the new meta after the leaver ban see that a lot now sadly i still hope that flaggs after a certain amount of "convenient dcs" how hard is it to just admit your not knowledgeable and ask for help or to call it so you could be more prepared next time at in . youve said it before but ones gotta wonder if the tanks going to come away from this having learned anything or if hell just do the same thing next group and hope it works out

@deenman23 uhh yes because him and I personally worked on his UI and this was one of the features I helped him with. He can't see the names of the enemies otherwise and feels it's crucial so he knows who people are talking about when they say "attack x" etc.

Bear is ok if you have swarmlords trink. Same as monk is good with it for the healing the trink. But having to rely on a trink to be semi viable. Not great.

Also monk needs some love. But ovo if you boost stagger. It becomes op and hard to balance. They are fun to play but trying to do higher keys. Awful. Same as bear. We all know what the most fun tank is though even if it ain’t meta. Also the most fun tank is also the best healer for mythics ;)

The start of Dawnbreaker is not a challenge for Guardian, berserk on the timer/key start and berserk the 2nd pack, you're golden... no idea what's going on in the video, limited interface. No power bars, no omniCD.. Guardian looked good on paper but turned out average. You need a CD on every pull/pack and basically every tank buster (til some of the nerfs recently, lower key tank busters are survivable without). Preferably you want to chain so you can keep ironfur rolling. Guardian utility is take everything to the face; no reflect, block, anti-magic shield, a.o. just have a CD ready for the real pain. They're getting a needed magic damage reduction rework in 11.1

See this is what i find annoying stupid. Your not wrong - in fact your 100% right. But a tank doing a +2 shouldnt have to have a list of addons to make it work! Just saying - if blizz UI is so bad you know have to have a list of addons to tank (and you do) - that's a game fail.

@JD74-v5h I more meant that I can't judge what this guardian is doing with this point of view. Power bars are Blizz UI setting but yes, when doing higher keys I really enjoy omniCD. Blizzard sort of fails with delivering proper tools for the complete chaos some dungeons are xD
