The fact she stated they have a large yard when talking about getting a cat definitely seems like they plan on letting it roam freely outside. So… Dear Cat Owners: STOP BEING LAZY INCONSIDERATE ARSEHOLES! Letting your cat roam freely causes over 4 Billion needless bird deaths every year in the U. S. Alone. It also causes overpopulation of strays who spread disease and die young in horrible ways. It also puts your cat at risk for being run over, eaten by something, or at the very least pissing and shitting all over your neighbors’ properties. So if you actually care about your pet just put a fracking leash on it, take it for GD walk, and pick up their 💩.
@bunnyslippers1912 жыл бұрын
@@photofreak56 Yep to all that. There's an easy fix if the shelters won't adopt cats out to anyone who lives next to a main road. Keep the danged cat inside! Outside only cats usually live only about 3 years because of cars, dogs that run free, wildlife like raccoons, coyotes, bobcats, and, believe it or not, owls. A great horned owl can kill a cat with its talons, especially a smaller cat such as a female or just a cat who's small because its parents were small. Then there are the nasty humans who like to hurt cats-*especially black cats* and this gal got a black cat. For inside/outside cats it's 7 because they are also exposed to the same dangers as the completely outside cats, just for fewer hours a day. The average lifespan of a cat who's kept inside all the time is at least 14 and that number is getting higher all the time.

OP’s stepkids’ mom died suddenly and instead of saying “I’m so sorry” or “that’s awful” or being any level of understanding, the friends complain about not getting discounts on food. And then, even worse, when OP decides she doesn’t want to deal with them and leaves the chat, they act like she’s the selfish one for them acting like complete asses. Awful. Disgusting. I hope they look back when they have their own kids and feel ashamed of themselves for what they said.

Possible insight into story 2: males usually cost less than females (theoretically you could breed the female, hence the price hike). OP wanted a female but they didn't want to pay more

Story 1: The ex girlfriend is obviously abusive and using Op’s wedding to force Cassie to say yes. I’m so glad she’s out of that relationship. Story 2: “Gender doesn’t matter” then WHY the HECK you switch them? Shame shame SHAME on Op for stealing someone else’s cat that they purchase rightfully and I hope actually do what she says in the update. Also I noticed that they couldn’t adopt, because they live by a main road. Which lead me to believe that they want a outdoor cat. So they decided to get a kitten to have live outside ( I hope they didn’t ) that will be very irresponsible. If Op cares about gender of a cat that much, then I hate to imagine how she treats a child if it come out the gender she didn’t wanted. Story 3: Wow Op those aren’t friends. What a heartless thing to say to Op, family isn’t dictated by blood. Op wouldn’t replace their mother, but at least she’s there for them as a mother figure. Shame on those friends who cared way more about trip, instead of understanding that Op wanted to be there for the kids she sees as her own.

She doesn't need her permission? Yes, she absolutely DOES need her permission! She's coming as a guest to someone's event that THEY paid for. So, she needs to abide by their rules, and absolutely needs to ask for permission to do anything that takes away attention from the bride and groom.

Story 2: When I adopted my cat from my older brother, I had wanted a girl. They didn't have any left, so I brought home one of the boys. Since I got him I have absolutely fallen in love with him. He wouldn't have gotten great care with my brother since he had a few pets already. I don't regret it for one second and he is just the sweetest little fella. I can't imagine having any other cat now

As a cat lover I really hope the kitten switcher follows through with her plans to come clean and offer the cat to the original buyers. When I heard this story, I thought these people seemed like the kind of pet owners who would send the cat to the shelter if the cat got too old, cat got sick, cat ruined furniture, etc. I felt afraid for this poor innocent kitten.

Story 2: The law has a concept of Theft By Fraud/Deception, & this right here is exactly what it refers to. You're a thief, OP - from the other buyer, if not from the seller. I don't even know you, & I'm ashamed of you.
@carlrood4457 Жыл бұрын
This should be read by every bridezilla. I could see a lot getting pissed about all this drama so close to the wedding, but this is focusing on the friendship. Weddings, and parties in general, are supposed to be about friends/family coming to celebrate something. If there's too much stress, drama, and arguing then you've missed the point. OP knows Cassie is mourning the relationship and put that first because a wedding is a day, but her marriage and her friendship are hopefully for a lifetime. Good to see her soon to be husband and other friends are in on helping cheer Cassie up.

Sick of the 'adopt don't shop' thrown around. I'm all for adopting, and I've looked at adopting several cats, but the moment I mention I have snakes they think I'm going to use the cat as a meal for them. I get their concern but non of the noodles are big enough to even scare a cat
@justine83872 жыл бұрын
I would be more afraid of the cats hunting the snakes to be honest. I am sure you are a responsible owner and would keep all your pets safe. But seriously snakes are chill and won't hunt unless hungry, cats will hunt just for a laugh.

Story #3: I had to rewind the story to check out OP's age. These women are IN THEIR FORTIES!!!??? More than old enough to understand the concept of extended and blended families. Have none of them had a death in the family? OP tried to accommodate them going on the trip without her. Must have been the discounts.
@WolfyFancyLads7 ай бұрын
The reason the second story got the cold shoulder from her workplace is because she not only stole a cat she wasn't being sold (implying she can't be trusted) but also made the seller not only look a fool to the other buyer but made them think they're somehow wrong, which would make them doubt themselves and their memory. Not to mention, "Oh, it'll just be sold!", what if it wasn't? Plenty of animals are put down or abandoned, what if this wasn't different? No wonder everyone is pissed off.

I don't trust big public proposals, especially at someone else's wedding! It sounds like they've been having problems for a long time, OP did nothing wrong and her actions won't be what breaks them up. And for an "introvert", Sophie has some nerve, very demanding and entitled to ask such a thing of someone she barely knows (and doesn't seem to like much).
@mikaq192 жыл бұрын
When you want to propose at someone else’s wedding it not only shows how disrespectful and classless you are, but also that you don’t even care enough about your SO to give them their own special moment. It’s like they are an after-thought on someone else’s big event. Anyone with any dignity or self respect would give a hard NO in a situation like that and turn down a proposal made in such a thoughtless manner.

There are probably so many cats outside *right now* that can be given shelter, food, water, etc., even just having a safe haven in your backyard. A styrene-foam cooler can be made into an "igloo" shelter (lid as base, U-shaped cut for an opening on top) so they have somewhere to chillax when raining, snowing, etc. I got 2 (now indoor-only) that I took in off the streets, and am working on a 3rd who's already getting acclimated to me. They got hard lives, *try* to make it a bit easier for them.

How did the OP in story 2 write that and not think they were an AH? Like come on, even reading half way through that you could tell they stole that kitten. Some people are so fucking delusional they can’t even see when they clearly do wrong.

Story 2: OP, I think you typed your age the wrong way around.... 13 sounds much more believable than 31... Anyway this is gonna be a loooong comment... Here are some of my favorite (read: most infuriating) quotes from this post: - "I told her it was no big deal because the person who wanted a girl cat could look somewhere else." So you stole a cat meant for someone else because you suddenly decided you didn't want a boy anymore? For no reason at all? And now you expect the other person to just shrug and look for a cat somewhere else? Why didn't you do that yourself if it's so easy and clearly not a big deal? - "Gender doesn't matter for a cat." Okay so why are you going through all this trouble then? Clearly it matters to you. Enough that you would literally steal from someone. - "Sometimes you have to look out for yourself in life." You're choosing the gender of a kitten, not donating a kidney. Just be honest and admit that you're a selfish, lying thief. Honestly I think this is the worst quote of them all, because it really shows just how selfish and disconnected from reality OP is. It's all me me me me me! - "I don't understand how doing something so insignificant has made everyone so angry." Because guess what OP: just because you find it insignificant, doesn't mean everyone else does. But judging from how you seem to view being a selfish thief as some sort of victory in 'looking out for yourself in life', I'm not surprised by this attitude at all. Things only matter if they affect you personally, right? - "I asked my husband if he felt guilty for doing it and he reassured me that I shouldn't feel guilty about it." Surprise surprise, the husband is a selfish jerk as well! You two deserve each other
