A nurse in a MLM always makes me so sad and angry. A real career, helping people, saving people's lives, and yet they want to trade it for fake friends and unethical sales.
@LizbetPCB3 жыл бұрын
That hit me too. I can’t judge why a NICU nurse would prefer to sell empty promises to saving babies. I do think anyone who’d prefer that to nursing, probably shouldn’t be a nurse. Like, while you’re waiting for those Monat $$$$$, maybe do something less vital to humanity. Sell something else? Houses, cars, insurance?
@caseybean0253 жыл бұрын
I’m a nurse and have a friend who is a NICU nurse. Burnout is real, especially in higher stress areas of nursing like NICU, PICU, ICU, CCU, ED, etc. With the way that hospitals run at the moment, those positions are not sustainable long term due to mental health reasons. There’s constant mandating to stay over or come in early due to people leaving (or now being sick with the rona). With NICU in particular, there’s so many tiny, helpless babies and you inevitably lose some. On top of that, you see many who are born into this world addicted to various substances. Some have genetic issues that mean they won’t live more than a few days, if that. And those nurses go home every day and hug their own babies at home and hope it’s better tomorrow. But that way of working isn’t sustainable long term for most. And before you say what everyone says, to just get a different type of job that isn’t bedside, those aren’t available everywhere, and if they are, they require very specific experience. A lot of us are just desperately looking for any way out of this often toxic career (look up “nurses eat their young” if you’re curious about nursing culture) and unfortunately many fall for these pyramid schemes. Especially now with the pandemic, things are especially physically and emotionally exhausting. We’re all tired. And many nurses get treated as just a number. Not a human being whatsoever.

Burnout. Nursing is HARD. Compassion fatigue is a real thing nurses suffer from.
@SpookyBibi243 жыл бұрын
@@caseybean025 Than you for your work and sharing your experience. I have huge respect for you and how you manage all those responsabilities and the weight of the job. You certainly deserve more money, support and recognition for all that you do. I work in an insurance company, I wish more nurses knew that those companies are constantly recruiting for either performing medical exams for insurance applications or for underwriting. Cushy jobs with easy schedules and conditions and they prefer former nurses over any other kind of candidates for these positions. There are other options besides MLM!
@caseybean0253 жыл бұрын
@@benjidalton3643 absolutely! A lot of us were in healthcare prior to becoming nurses as well. While that experience is obviously helpful, I do think we sometimes burn out faster because of it. A lot of us are caregivers at home for children, partners, other family members, pets, etc. on top of it. I’ve been struggling lately. Its hard trying to fill everyone else’s cup from my empty one sometimes! And I feel bad because I’m so drained from work that I just don’t have it in me to give 100% to my toddler and husband when I get home.

It took me a year of going to school 40 hours a week, taking a licensure exam, procuring a license, a year of apprenticeship and probably another year behind the chair to fully understand hair types and textures and be to able to make informed product recommendations. There are a LOT of hair types I would NEVER recommend an oil treatment to. These pigs have no idea what they're talking about. If you have questions about your hair and haircare products, ask your hairstylist or if you have a more extreme concern like hair loss or scalp issues, see your dermatologist. @@RandomGrump it’s insanity. It’s funny that these calls are never about product knowledge. It’s always about changing your life. It’s just nonsense. They make women feel like they’re struggling and broken (when they most likely aren’t) and convince them this shit will make their lives better. What fucking profession makes claims like that? It’s always the same spiel over and over again. As a professional it just makes me so mad that people are getting horrible advice and being sold garbage when a trained hairstylist can actually assess your hair and scalp and make recommendations. There are several drug store products that I recommend sometimes. I am knowledgeable about the components in products. I take classes about products directly from the company with hands on demos. I can actually see and feel a person’s hair. I can ask about a person’s hair history. I can make follow up appointments to asses if we’re on the right track for whatever the issue is. For the love of god don’t take hair/skin advice from anyone who is nit a licensed professional. You wouldn’t take advice about a heart murmur from the lady who works at the post office. Hair and skin are body parts and that’s WHY we need a license to practice and dispense advice.

I just wanted to say that you’re awesome! I’m a pretty new follower but I’m binging your content and loving it 😍 I’ve been approached by tons of mlm reps before but never realized how cultlike (in my opinion). The worst was when a girl I knew in HS “congratulated” me on the birth of my first child by telling me should help me lose the baby weight. I should also mention this was two days after he was born and my son was in the NICU (which I was very open about on my instagram). Anywho, I’m sorry for the long comment but you’re great and please keep doing what you’re doing! ♥️

I HATE when MLM huns or any hustle culture peeps try and say that your "excuses" (reasons) or exhaustion isn't as bad as theirs. I have 2 siblings who are nurses while I'm a social media manager. We're all exhausted from the pandemic and the past year for different reasons and we don't compare our trauma. We just respect each other and try to support where we can. Trauma and exhaustion and mental illness are not a competition.

Absolutely. If you’re performing a task that requires cognitive thinking, you can only do one thing at a time. Multi-tasking doesn’t really work. Not to mention she is stealing from her employer if she is doing something other than her job all day, and she knows she is doing something sketchy or she wouldn’t have to hide her AirPod in her hair.

So many of these women talk down to one another as if they're children. I've had many chances to watch my son's Zoom classes with his elementary teachers, and I swear to God, they sound EXACTLY the same. If an adult woman spoke to me the way these women speak to each other, I'd be so angry. Speak to me like an adult. I'm not in second grade, and I don't need to be coddled. I understand greater concepts and larger words. I would rather be treated like a competent adult versus a wittle baby that needs to be there-there'd. Also, Chelsea, your skin is like a Renaissance painting... Heavenly!

A number of years ago there was a terrible accident at a theme park here in the UK and two women lost a leg each. Afterwards, one of them was doing very well, even training to compete at the Paralympics but the other was really struggling with coping with the change in her life, depression and anxiety etc. The absolutely worst thing anyone could say to the second woman would be 'Look at the first woman, she's taken the situation and turned it around, if she can do it, so can you!'. Yeah, that's very helpful for this newly disabled person to hear.
@jmeg74122 жыл бұрын
You are so on point! People handle things differently and cope differently! It’s so hard to compare the two! Especially, since now, I am cynical. I believe a lot of these women make up stories to take advantage of other women down on their luck and to be relatable.
