Bro....this bike has been my dream bike that I never would have been able to afford (kids are expensive lol), but I just started working at Trek a week ago and I am placing my order for this exact Madone on Wednesday. I'm not going into details but I am ABSOLUTELY blown AWAY at how well Trek takes care of their employees. I've riden Trek literally my entire life (I'm 30) and I've always loved Trek, but now after witnessing first hand how well they treat their own I love them even more. I absolutely love the color of this frame, and in person it's even sicker looking. I live in New Jersey here in the U.S. and it's very flat here with just some rollers. No climbs even 5 minutes long around here, so this bike will be absolutely perfect.

Oh well, awesome stuff mate. That's great to know Trek being one of the industry leader actually takes care of you guys. I'm impressed. You made a good choice mate. Enjoy the madone power👌👌👌

cycling T-Holms Hey man, that's great to hear, as it is one of my considerations when making any purchase. I own a carbon Trek roadie (Armstrong era US Postal blue) when they used to lay carbon in the US and I'll never part with it. I'm not fond of Treks domination of the retail industry, but it's nice to hear that they're taking care of there people. Perhaps they should open up a little more about this with the public.

Just compared the 2020 Madone SL to a Tarmac PRO. Managed 100/2,000 on each (metric). Both rode surprisingly similarly to me, although the Tarmac felt a touch punchier when sprinting. Could be owing to the 600g weight difference. I chose to compare Madone to Tarmac as all reports are that a Venge is just a bit too firm in the compliance department (I ride very varied sealed road surfaces). Climbing in the Madone was a pleasure too (it’s 1kg lighter than my current bike). I can’t look past the ultra refined detailing of the Madone though. All of the lines are perfectly drawn and connected, the finish and presentation is truly stunning. The tidily integrated cockpit area makes you calm when pedalling with your head down. As for comfort. I currently ride a 2013 Defy (considered a very comfortable machine in its day), and the Madone is far more comfortable. Sold!

Very good comparison thanks for sharing. That 600 grams to a big guy may not be a game changer but I personally prefer a lighter bike in general. But still, love that Madone. Such a hot bike
@zakymaa5 жыл бұрын
Comparison is SL not SLR. Assume SLR is more superior carbon. Like the comparison to Tarmac since I own Tarmac SL6 s works. Thanks

If I wasn't absolutely in love with Pinarello (picked up my F12 not long ago), this would've been my bike. IMO, the Madone is one of the most beautiful bikes out there right now.

Fine Review Nick! I much like your lite conversational approach to bikes reviews. You make technical stuff easy to understand and logic. I do own a Trek and these bikes are heavy in comparison to other brands. For me, this is a minus. Oh yeah, Trek bikes are too expensive and you can buy another bike with similar specs at a lower price. Thanks for the vid!

Rode this yesterday. It's fast in a straight line, very good in the crosswinds. But I thought it was slow to get up to speed.

Hi Guys ..... I've been riding a Madone 9 SLR disc Project one for 12 months so have a great feel for the bike over 16,000 Km. Basically it's the best looking bike on the market BUT it is just too damn heavy. I'm 70 kg and I felt like I was always fighting it to get it up to speed. Always had sore quads when working hard and the acceleration just wasn't there. The bike is very comfortable but the frame is just too rigid. Descending at anything over 65 to 70 km/hr the bike tended to skip on bumps and it made me feel rather uncomfortable at times. Due to the weight I couldn't maintain a high speed for as long as I could on my 2013 Madone 7 series which came in at 7.2 kg fully loaded. Due to a paint warranty issue I decided to get an Emonda H1 SLR disc replacement and transfer the Di2, 6xxx wheels and same saddle. BEST MOVE I have ever made. The Emonda is bloody quick and fun to ride. I have ridden it for 2 months now and the power metre is showing only a higher 4 watt av per ride. ( same rides as before ) BUT my av top speed has risen by almost 4 km/hr. Average speed per ride is identical. I'm also putting out over 100 more watts in my Av Max watts data. Interestingly the usual 350 metre sprint point is averaging over 2 km/hr quicker in both top end speed and average sprint speed than the Madone. This is at a HR of only 1 beat higher but at a cadence of 2 rpm higher. Normalised watts is 8 watts higher. The bike descends quicker and is more stable and more responsive than the Madone. I have exceeded my previous top end speed on the Madone on the same hill 3 or 4 times already. In short the Emonda is a much better bike to ride and is in my case proving to be quicker in all respects with the deep dish wheels and the addition of a Bontrager xxx aero bar and stem instead of the standard round bar. Absolutely Love it.

It is great review again Nick... i have Trek madone 9.5 di2 2016 now i really love it but maybe i would change it to what you sold one for disc brake... I think 56 is too big for you , we are very close and mine one is 52 which is just fix for me....
