So this week I've gone from wanting a SystemSix to a Time Machine and, as I expected, finishing off with Trek coming along and offering the golden egg. C'mon lottery numbers 🤞

Why don't bike companies test out their bikes in rural Canada where you get 25- 30 km hr winds coming at you , this would be perfect for Aero bike testing. You would also need some track cyclists to battle those 30 km hr wind gusts. Canada is perfect for bike Training as the winds here are unpredictable and one way of the ride is always going to bust you up.

You didn't mention if you felt any difference between the softest and hardest settings on the iso speed frame. Can we then conclude it doesn't do anything or is insignificant?

Hello, I'm on the market for a Trek Madone. I'm 182cm and inseam 83cm. I'm wonder if I need a 58 as according TREK sizing chart or 56 (as I have a Canyon ultimate disc medium which is very comfortable). Thanks a lot for support :)

Hi. I would really apprecciate your advise. I own a 2017 Trek Madone 9.8 and I want to change to disc brakes. I value comfort and aesthetics and my two candidates are the new Trek Madone slr or the Specialized Venge, both with the new etap group set. Thank you for your time and for such profesional reviews. Great Job as always. Isaac forma Spain

Are you really short or is that frame a strange shape?
@404nobrakes
@404nobrakes 6 жыл бұрын
Nathan Phillips the saddle is still a decent bit higher than the bars. I think the post-in-mast design makes it seem shorter, especially compared to something like the Venge, which slopes the toptube to expose more post.

I tried both the Madone and the Domane 5.2 when I was purchasing a new roadbike ... I purchased the Domane 5.2 ... liked the ride better, especially for Metric&Centuries as it's not about the first 10 miles ... but the last 10 miles. I would upgrade to a Domane w/ Disc's ... BUT ... I only ride bikes w/ a "Triple" upfront ... NEVER(!!!) a Compact Double ... and these here have Compact Doubles (from pic's) Before you try to give me a "bogus" sales job for a "Compact Double" ... I am a Degreed Mechanical Eng ... and "Mechanics" I did very well in ... (Electrical Eng ... not so much) The gear range is like a loaf of bread ... the loaf maybe a bit larger or smaller ... but close enough ... now w/ my 3/10, I have 30 slices in the "loaf"... w/ a compact double 2/11 I have 22 slices in the same loaf .... HHhhmmmmm ..... There is of course some gearing overlap at the ground/rear tire ... but the combination of different ratios feels different to my legs ... and all my bikes have "triples" on them ... road, hybrid, and mountain .... and I ain't changing after all these years ... Like the "Red" one best ... and it will be the fastest !!! HaHaHa

At this point it's silly to build an "aero" bike with disk wheels and traditional cables of any kind. Go full electronic/hydraulic to achieve better drag results and realistic maintenance if you want it to be a full time machine.

I've never heard 10-20g of drag before, and 10 watts sounds like a bit much. Did you mean the equivalent of losing 10-20g of weight? Sorry to bother in either case the phrasing is odd.
@LucasWeitzendorf
@LucasWeitzendorf 6 жыл бұрын
I guess it's equivalent to the gravitational force of 10 - 20g of mass. That's 0.1 to 0.2 N of force. W = N * m/s, so 1 - 2 W at 40kph. W = kg * 9.81 * kph / 3.6, but that only works for the speed it was measured at.

@acruzp 6 жыл бұрын
James it's not about being better than anyone, it's about using your language properly. When you speak improperly you are signaling others that you're not very intelligent, because otherwise you would've picked up on your mistake. You're also showing a lack of awareness of general structure and order, besides, of course, a lack of attention to detail. I've never met someone who could write/speak impeccably, that was careless or stupid.
