to be honest I am not so sure if the landscape photography is about to have a mules for to carry tons of gears, cameramen, editors and all that .. Nigel sold his soul for youtube videos and fame, maybe some $$ too .. I doubt that this tradeoff is any good ... and I am saying that as his follower and photographer too and his fan who is watching his videos almost from the beginning ..

Luskentyre is stunning and can change completely in the space of ten minutes. I feel very jealous of you being able to spend so much time there. I love shooting astro there and have gotten so many amazing shots. My favourite memory of there was lying back on the marram grass with a beer in my hand as I shot a timelapse of Orion rising and as I was looking up admiring the stars, a point of light appeared out of nowhere and kept going across the sky. After checking a couple of apps it turned out to be the ISS just coming out of the shadow of the earth.

For me, on a channe like this I like to know what I’m looking at , is it F8 or 11 at 35 or 85 mm ! It makes a big difference. Stacked? HDR? And so on. ISO is still BS as it has a big variation depending on camera manufacturers settings. Some metadata please!

I was thinking how much you have a true soul of an artist. No matter what you follow the call, struggle through and endure the irritations and inclinations of weather, or mother nature. You persist in spite of the wind...the rain... Then, I shuddered. Vincent van Gogh and the mistrals or the ruthless searing sun. He saw beauty, as you do, which had to be expressed, shared, celebrated. You gave me a glimpse...a sense of his life. I pray that he had even moments like yours of gratitude and happiness... I wish you many blessings.

As you embraced the heavy winds and the rugged surf with such enthusiasm and delight at what they had to offer, I was reminded of the title of a book by a former colleague, “The Solace of Fierce Landscapes” by Belden Lane. Your reflections at the end about being alone and the value of having such an experience after the challenges of the previous years was a welcome reminder to me of the importance of taking time to get away to the places that nourish our souls. This video is just pure unfiltered landscape photography with it's highs, lows, tranquillity and organised chaos!! Recently the videos from the photography community has been dominated with tutorials, tips and gear advice (which is definitely valued)... but this video is exactly what has been missing! Although many of us amateurs haven't got the means to travel for 30 days at a time, this is the most relatable video I have seen conveying the excitement and emotion of being emersed in beautiful nature and trying to do the landscape justice during a shoot! You have the luxury of time to be able to wait for, and seek out, the best light, and explore your creativity with patterns while you notice the changes from day to day because of the changing tides and winds. The drone footage adds a great deal of context to your location. That was a bonus for the viewers. Lucky you to be able to catch the Auroras, too. 18:24 beautifully illustrates the beauty of the light. High latitude Northern hemisphere, early spring, still somewhat cold and the air cannot contain a lot of moist in vapour form. Consequently there's very, very little haze and the clouds make the light soft and diffused without a lot of UV. Even on a bright sunny day, most of these qualities are retained. Great photography in stills and video.
