I spent $50 on FB ads to Promote my Spotify (here's what happened...)

Hey man, good video but the results look not so good (no offense). I've run a couple of FB ads in the past and the results were much better with about the same budget. So I would recommend you to correct your targeting (reduce a country list to 6-7 english speaking countries with a decent economy level, then add facebook feed and explore to the placements AND delete all the streaming services except Spotify on your hyperfollow link - you are already targeting people with Spotify so don't give them a choice to stream somewhere else since you wanna gain streams on spotify). In 2024 they have changed the campaign objective to Awareness, Traffic, Engagement, Leads, App Promotion and Sales. Engagement and Leads have conversions listed. What would be the equivalent if you were doing the same thing on 2024? Also this video is life saver!

Also, in 2024, the locations list is now different. Every country wasn't accepted from the txt doc because of the commas 😭 I went through 92 locations to pick the right ones then downloaded a locations doc and it now has to be like a list (no commas). Oh and don't forget to exclude Russia now, or you'll get a locations error.

Fb slowly funnels all Ur budget to audience size and because Canada and USA etc it's a high cost per view content. So I run separate ads for different country groups

u shouldnt really promote ur self outside of canada the usa austrailia new zealand south africa the uk ireland france italy belguim luxomberg denmark switzerland germany czech republic greece spain portuagaul norway sweden finland and japan all of those countries expect south africa r costly countries any other country isnt worth it at and theres to much fake stuff in most of the other countries u dont wanna promote to bots

I am having some issues with my Facebook ads for my music, so I watched your video 3 times. I like the part about removing the less-performing countries and age groups. The demographics and geographics are always key to success. I also ran traffic campaigns in the beginning and as mentioned in this video, they were a dud, so I performed much better with conversion campaigns.

Don't judge the success of an ad from the link clicks. Look at your the individual song on Spotify For Artists. Algeria and other countries get tons of clicks but NO LISTENS.

I showed my plays on Spotify for Artists for that reason at 11:24, the conversion seemed quite accurate!

But if you want to optimize and have your money go even further I would still look at what countries your clicks come from and compare it to what countries your streams come from. Northern Africa has always been a dead scene for me. But If you are happy with your results dont change a thing. It all depends on how much time you want to spend optimizing.

@@Dihmarko This is a tough thing to set up right. Check out Andrew Southworth and Tom Dupree III channels. They will set you on your way, but it is still tricky even if you know a lot about running FB ads.

Good video man! I've got a question though: When you specify the target and under narrow audience, you just typed in stuff but didnt wait for suggestions. I am doing Synthwave music so I wanted to target people interested in this genre but facebook didnt give me this option. So does it mean i can type it in there, even if Facebook is not giving this to me as a suggestion? I thought this would not work.

Thanks for watching! And no, interests must pop up in order to use them. I suggest being a little bit more broad with your interests because its hard to get super specific. If there are some popular artists that your music is similar to, try searching their artists name, it may come up!
