Excellent breakdown of what a publisher will invest in a game project. You are a one man band as a company, so thanks for helping a ton of smaller projects see completion!

Thanks Ryan! Here's hoping I can help more and more across that finish line :)

I don't think publisher size itself defines "indieness" of the published games. It's all about the relationship between developer and publisher, and how much they respect the creative vision of the developers.

This video is incredibly well edited and educational, and with this newfound knowledge I'd like to thank you for your contribution to Picayune Dreams. Video games are ART, and seeing someone so passionate in getting more art made brings me immense joy. Truly, thank you.

I am very interested in how to start a micro game publishing company, especially if you don't have a content creator background and some audience to work with. Looking forward to more videos on this channel!

The best definition I've found for an indie developer is one that would make the same game regardless of whether they had a publisher or not. That is why Ninja Theory were still considered indie for Hellblade, even thought the quality of the game was AAA.

So glad to have found this, was thinking about starting my own Micro publisher, but honestly, needed some guidance. I don't want to start this magical thing, and screw over developers and games that I love. Thanks for this 2 Left Thumbs! Super keen on supporting here, and enjoying your games.

That's great to hear! I'll hopefully be able to upload more videos giving peeks behind the curtain of what I do. I wanted to have more videos of that nature uploaded by now. But it's a time consuming gig! All in good time :)

I hope this venture turns out well for you! While I'm nowhere near close to making my game yet (still well into the concepting period), this video answered pretty much every question I had about your role as a publisher. I'll keep your platform in mind for the future, but for now I'm finding myself particularly interested in playing Play Rough :>

Great video! I was also interested in what constitutes as an triple A studio and what is an indie one. On the side note, what's the song in 3:35? It sounds weirdly familiar.

My advice and insight may roll out on this channel slowly, while juggling other responsibilities. But I hope that over time it becomes a valuable collection of resources for newcomers who want to break into the industry!

Please don't give me hopes. Thanks to my parents I haven't faced any real challenge during my lifetime, so my heart might be unable to deal with finding & losing a hope 🥲Great video, informative & fun! I'm sure at some point (pretty soon) we will talk to each other. Take care for now
