To be honest I consider myself a lukewarm christian. I tend to go in and out of my relationship with Jesus cos I'm trying to catch up with worldly things. Tomorrow I am deciding to begin my one month journey only listening to christian music. I want to seek Him so bad. Thank you so much Vihan for this inspiring video

I don't listen to much secular music. I prefer worship music, hymns, and contemporary Christian. However, there are a few secular love songs that fill my heart with gratitude to God for the beautiful gift He gave to me ~ my husband. Sadly, my husband is no longer on this earth, but I rejoice knowing that his spirit is in heaven. The secular romantic songs I enjoy are purer and simpler than most and although I could interpret a few lyrics as questionable, I choose to see them from a pure standpoint, of God sanctioning marriage, of a man and woman becoming one, and being committed only to each other, "til death do us part".

Nancy Menotti I am 57. Been saved since 18. (Backslid for 5) I totally agree. I mostly listen to Christian music but I have had God speak to me using secular music several times. I don’t like a steady diet of it but I don’t believe it’s all evil either. I believe in balance. If the message is one of clean living or good morals it can teach good lessons as well. Be blessed.

Pray for discernment regarding Christian music. Some are luciferian and twist scripture or who we praise. In everything lift it up to Almighty God through His Son Jesus Christ ask for wisdom. 💕💕💕

you should check out blssd music or amen worldwide they have artists that make really goiod christian music (it helped a ton on my secular music fast). there are also artists like david dunn, jonathan ogden, montell fish, and this one album called soul hymns. i hope this helped :)

I also stopped listening to secular music, but last year my fiance lead me to secular again, but God warned me in a dream - I stopped again and I left my fiance Praise God, he wasn't the one:)

solarlola that’s what a lot of people would like to think but it was probably better to leave and pray for him from afar. He will still be influenced if he knows it was for her love of God. What business does light have with darkness?

Check out K-Love radio 106.9FM. Perhaps it's available everywhere on the web. I chose to dedicate myself to Godly music when I first found that Contemporary Christian Music was of such high quality. It's been 25 years, and has helped me to keep my mind on Jesus. Glad I did. Now I'm a Contemporary Christian songwriter. You may like Gospel or Christian Raggae, too.

I used to be obsessed with K-Pop. I was THAT obsessed that I would be on my phone 24/7 listening to their music, watching videos and stuff and even chatting with other fans as well. Kpop was slowly stealing my whole time, energy and focus. I used to worship the "kpop idols" without even noticing what I was doing. I forgot about God. I got distant from Him. During that time I fell into depression and instead of praying I would just listen to kpop thinking that these "idols" were capable of solving my problems. I was truly wrong about everything. One day, God bless that day, I watched a video on youtube. That was the day my eyes were opened. The channel that had posted the video was called "Servants of Christ". A korean girl made a video exposing kpop music. I found out that there were satanic signs behind the music videos and lyrics. I found out that the kpop music was inspired and influenced by satan. I was shocked. How blind I had been. That was the day i deleted every single kpop song i had on my phone, unsubscribed and unfollowed every group on social media and just deleted the word kpop from my life. It was hard at first since the temptation to go back to all that was strong, but I DID IT. I decided to follow God not satan.(Matthew 6:24)With the help of God I did it and im so grateful to Him. I thank Him for not leaving me, for saving me from that miserable life.If I could do it, you can do it too. With the help of God everything is possible. Never stop praying and please don't fall into temptation. God bless y'all ❤️🙏

Its same for me too i used to be an army you know fans of bts , and the facts when i was sick there song launched , and i was like thank you god for giving me bts not knowing the reality of the kpop world , i was literally die hard fan i also praise them everytime like every single time and whenever someone says bad word about them i got frustrated of them and yelled at them including my mom and dad too , but thanks to lord my eyes were opened and with passage of time i have fully stopped listening kpop music or amy ither secular songs, all glory to god

I always felt like K-pop was not a God-friendly industry. I swept it under the rug cause I didn't want to believe it. I think they accept other communities faster and will push Christianity to the side. I want to stop listening to it period.

Praise God! Actually I had been searching for that Korean girl on KZbin. I saw a few of her videos about a year ago where she speaks of Christians chasing signs and manifestations rather than chasing Christ himself. I just couldn't remember her name or her channel's name. I asked God to lead me to it and as soon as you mentioned Servants of Christ I knew that was the one! It's such a strange thing the way I was led to it. God really knows our every thought and our heart. If we ask Him, He does and will lead us.

You are spot on. I dont feel anymore to open KZbin to listen to my fav secular songs. I remember many secular songs which sometimes come to my memory and I sing it for a few minutes. But that's it. I feel it's a waste of time to hear people cry about why life is good or bad. God's perspective is best. So His worship songs are much better.

I found that when a person starts seeking God and discovers a relationship with Him, we automatically lose our desire for anything less than Him. That's what happened to me. Now I grew up Christian so I didn't listen a lot of secular music anyways, but I found it hard to connect with certain worship. I thought it was repetitive and boring. Until I went through a revival in my spirit. And then I wanted to just listen to music about the Him and worship Him because I was so in love with Him. To put it frankly, Christians who don't have a desire to listen to worship music are lacking a deep relationship with Jesus. That's why we're losing the teens and young adults in churches. That's why we see ppl attending church who are nothing more than bored spectators. We've lossed our passion because we don't fully know Him and His love. People need an encounter with Jesus! They need to know He's good! They need to know his love! When you do everything changes!

Worship music is awesome . However I love to just listen to music that is secular but it's not sexual, or talking about drugs etc. Like the song happy by pharrell Williams or John Coltrane Welcome which is him playing a worship song to God. Some secular songs do have messages that come directly from the bible. I can't listen to Gospel music like most other believers it's too bright and then after a while of me listening to it it makes my brain feel high like I'm on helium too much. So I listen too different styles. I've heard angels sing worship songs to God, I've sung and heard angels singing. However It's good for me to just listen to mellow music without violence or drugs. Ever form music is not for everybody but one thing is for sure I'm not into rap music and its profanity.

One of the ex witch in my country who has been saved and now he is a Christian evangelist said that all musics have souls either good or bad. Most of spells that he learned before as a witch with the tones to make the spirits worked. He said there is power in the gospel as a Christian. That is why I have stopped listening to secular songs and believe the more we listen and sing the gospels, we make our souls richer in God and our relationship as well connection to praise Our Lord stronger

I went on a 30 day Christian music challenge 4 years ago and during that time I discovered Sooo many amazing Christian artists on Spotify and different genres (reggae, reggaeton, rap, EDM, pop, soul, praise and worship, gospel, acoustic etc) not only that but I began to feel more peace and was delivered from chronic Anxiety that I had struggled with for years! 4 years later I still prefer Christian music over secular and it’s what I still listen to the most that 30 day challenge changed my life! It’s amazing how we can be affected psychologically by music good or bad. It’s like feeding the soul. Someone once said when your in a dark room where the lights were just cut off you can’t see but after a while as your eyes adjust you can see and that’s how it is when you get used to the dark. I’m not saying all secular music is bad but the majority of main stream music is vulgar and ultimately glorifies sin. When I was used to the dark my eyes weren’t open to it but now with the spirit of discernment I see clearly and I thank God He delivered me and set me free!

The negative influences of this world are designed to make our heart sick through emotional & physical pain resulting in a given person turning to music as one source of comfort to the body. The painful realty of this existence gives rise to the birth of music in two forms, earthly & HEAVENLY. Earthly music speaks to the experiences of this world through the singer-song writer’s eyes. Oftentimes drug use (i.e. alcohol, smokes, marijuana, cocaine, opioids, benzos and propofol to name a few) is intertwined with the survival of an artist to deal with the pressure of performing in order to stay relevant in the music industry, and to serve as fuel for creativity. As a result, music celebrities develop a tendency to sin against their body, through excessive drug use, for not measuring up to or to satisfy the demands of their music. Any earthly joy they experience is darkened by the heavy burden of performing and the loss of privacy. The end users of their music become fans because the lyrics are relatable and the sound of the singer’s voice & rhythm helps them cope with the pains of this reality. Unfortunately, this band aid approach is only a time out from the hurt and in the meantime we are fortifying its wall with painful memories waiting in line. Who can save us from wounds that are silent, wordless and cruel all the while tearing us apart inch by inch on the inside, which could radically accelerate the demise of the human body? I will use caps as emphasis to show the honest reverence for GOD'S SOVEREIGNTY when writing about HEAVENLY music in the paragraphs below. That INVINCIBLE DIVINE be our HEAVENLY FATHER, WHO THROUGH HIS SON’S MISSION HAS INSPIRED believers to write songs that sing of HIS LIFE GIVING LOVE to deal with emotional & physical pain, economic instability, mortality and the emotional instability of others with the motive of winning over souls for HIS KINGDOM. The melody & theme of HEAVENLY music is hateful and intolerable to the devil, a spirit which causes us to be blinded of the effects of sin and is responsible for the woes of this world such as melancholy, anguish, tribulation and trial. These agitations of the soul create a heavy burden for the lost and could lead him or her to be hostile of songs that sing about GOD’S GLORY. This makes it clear that we cannot win the spiritual battle by our own strength. Moreover, on earth the devil has no equal. GOD has provided us with the ONE WHO CAN AND WILL LIFT the heavy burden of sin's guilt from a given sinner's heart if he or she (through faith) would open their understanding to Psalms (starting with the focus on Psalms 51:1-10 KJV), and hymns/songs giving praise to HIM for the purpose of being persuaded, converted and healed by the HOLY SPIRIT from within by transforming your body/temple into a meeting place for you and the KING OF THE AGES to commune as friends through the born again experience (repentance manifesting itself in a changed life). It is only here that the fears of tomorrow will diminish, the blessed assurance is given that you are HIS and HE LIVES. Once the blessed assurance is known in prayer (through the confession of wanting salvation from one’s sinful nature, combine with admitting that JESUS CHRIST is LORD and believing in one’s heart that GOD raised HIM from the dead to deliver us from sin's guilt) the world can never take it away because the world didn’t give it to you.

I'm going to eventually stop listening to secular music. I admit that I am a sucker for a good catchy beat. I'm black and i have African blood. So it's hard to resist rhythm. Hahahaha. But i know that there's Christian music of all kinds with great beats. I'm working towards it. It's definitely what you do to totally cleanse the soul and consecrate yourself before God. I've been experimenting and I think that time is coming to an end. Thanks sis.

When you stop listening to secular music you NEED to fill up that spot with something else. You need to fill up that area where you don’t listen to secular music with CHRISTIAN music. When you empty yourself out of something worldly fill it up with God

I was so addicted to secular Trap music. Before i started to go with jesus i was listening to sooo bad lyrics...were they talk about lust, demons, murder etc. Trippie Redd etc and also me i did music about stuff but not god.. since i go with Yeshua i remeber that i throw evil signgs in this time! The holy spirit showed me that and i was so shocked that i was so wicked...pls ppl stop listening to all them ! No matter beyonce or whatever...PLS in the mighty name of Jesus 🙏🏼❤️

@@coolgirls1603 keep your head up! I think if you are mindful of what goes in your eyes and ears you don't necessarily have to stop listening to secular music completely. Some songs are OK, just as the Holy Spirit for discernment.

@@sherah6284 Theres tons of great gospel rapper. Check out Steven Malcom, Lecrae, Gawvi, uncle Reece. Then add some Chandler Moore, Tauren Wells, Jonathan Mcreynolds, Travis Greene, Anthony Browne. I got tons more lol. I use to to be down with Beyonce and Jay Z and when I got saved I got rid of all secular music. Cant believe I was following someone who calls himself J-hova, blasphemy at its finest.

Everyone keep an eye out for some who claim to be “Christian” preachers and/or artists. 2 Cor 11:13 “For such men are false apostles, deceitful workers, disguising themselves as apostles of Christ.” Some of them do not even realize they’re being misled either, Isaiah 29:13 “And so the Lord says, ‘These people say they are mine. They honor me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me. And their worship of me is nothing but man-made rules learned by rote’”! Stay vigilant all!! 💛 God bless

I’ve stoped listening to secular songs that sing about idolatry, sex, drugs, murder etc. However I still listen to other secular music, I just make sure it doesn’t have any bad messages

I was a serious Christian 3-4 months ago but I started to fall and backslide. I started listening again to secular music. When I did, I felt sad and lost. I became really anxious about my future and sad of growing old and missing my childhood. It affected me deeply but I ignored it for the whole 3-4 months because I was convinced that the music is great. It sounds good and all. I’ve now distanced myself from it and I’ve been listening to Godly music for I think less than a week. Thank you for making this video :)

Secular music often times has a spirit that entertains and speaks into your life. If you've ever had a song make you feel angry, vengeful, etc. That is the spirit behind it.

I had a very similar experience to yours. I, too, am a singer and was a lover of Motown, classic rock, some pop and just all kinds of stuff. People who know me from the past would be shocked to know that I do not listen to secular music, but like you, it was a gradual process until eventually, I was just like, "ugh this music does NOT make me feel good AT ALL." At one point, I had relegated listening to secular music only to my workout sessions. But then I started seeing that I was feeling stressed during my workouts, which is completely counterproductive! It also affected how I would treat me husband and children. I have so much secular music from my years collecting it on my iTunes, etc and it gets zero play. My children don't even know who Michael Jackson is, which I actually consider and accomplishment as a parent. As I always pray with my children before bed at night when they ask me for the "no-nightmare" prayer: "Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable-if anything is excellent or praiseworthy-think about such things." (Philippians 4:8)

I'm sorry but the Holy Spirit does not leave us 'the moment we choose anger' with a negative thought. Negative thoughts can also be externally generated and suggested to us by the enemy. If the Holy Spirit leaves us every time we have a negative thought (or God forbid choose to sin) then we are not or cannot be truly saved. This is because our entire salvation would be dependant on our works and keeping up 'holy behaviour', not only is this impossible - but the blood of Jesus wouldn't be all-sufficient to cover all our sins and actions throughout our entire lives. That is called self-righteousness and it's a very heavy burden to people under.

What you say is true but I don't think that's what she meant. She was using rather imprecise language, but I think what she meant was you don't notice the prompting of the Holy Spirit as much when you are angry. Which is true.

I went through a time when I wasn’t really serving God and I listened to a lot of secular music. But when I gave my life to God, He took away that desire for that kind of music! Now all I want to listen to is Christian music and worship songs. :)

Wow, what you're saying really resonates with me. About 12 months ago the Spirit spoke to me about the music I was listening to (mostly secular alternative and indie pop). It seemed harmless, but now looking back, I realise how the change that had come over me was too slow to be perceptible, and the music indeed had had a profound and deep effect on me. This time of, let me call it, awakening, coincided with a powerful almost overwhelming hunger for God. I couldnt believe how starved my soul was for Him. My love for Him now is so passionate and deep, I would gladly exchange any other hindrances in my life for more of Him. I think of Him almost constantly, prayers come so easily and I lean on Him for so much. It's like I am more alive. He truly did come so that we may have life more abundantly.

I literally could have wrote this whole thing myself! I am with you sis 100%! About a year ago I heard Him speaking to me as well about the music I was listening to and how ungodly it truly was and how it never glorified Him. I feel so much more closer to Him than I ever had after I threw out the secular shows, music and things I use to do. It’s a lot better on the Light side! 💕

It’s not hard to not listen to the garbage out there.....in my experience....I just simply am not able to bear it anymore..it’s unsettling and I feel no peace and I have to immediately turn it off...I haven’t listened to the radio music in years and have no clue what in what’s the trend...nothing, completely out of the loop and I love it...

I don't listen to secular music by choice, however I work in a restaurant where they play a soundtrack. I have found that I can use the subject matter of the songs, since it's usually sad or painful, to talk with coworkers about the gospel. We who are believers, are after all, in the world, but not of the world. We don't need to be discouraged if we cannot control what sounds are played around us. The blood of Jesus is still enough! He cleanses us from our sins. I do believe that this is a matter of conscience and be led by the Holy Spirit. I do think generally to grow further in intimacy with the Holy Spirit, we should use every opportunity to seek his fellowship and glory, so of course, as we already are commanded: "Praise the Lord; Glorify the Lord with singing; Delight yourself in the Lord and He will give you the desires of your heart!" If however you are in an environment of unbelievers where you have no control over the Playlist, ... do not fear! You can and will be a light! You are salt! You are light! You can use music in the background of this presently dark world to remind you that "the harvest is ripe, the fields are white in the world." Don't let the enemy steal your joy. Continue in your heart to praise Him. For he is worthy. There are others that need to know Him yet. Will you go and be sent? Will you take courage and be the light that Christ has made you to be? Only He can save the souls of men and women, but you... follower of Christ... you get the privilege of being a worker in the field. You get to carry the good news. You received and were born anew. You shine bright because you are a Child of the King. He is worthy of all praise. For He ransomed men for God. All glory be to God. Shine bright brothers and sisters, and continue in worship.

I too have no idea which songs are in trend. Sometimes names of songs, but that's it. Unless they are too popular that in some videos you can encounter them. But that's it. There are barely any secular songs I like. Especially nowadays it feels the secular songs are more filled with bad words (swear words, strong words that replace the word "bad" etc) and I hate those. Even in one song I like in English, the German version of it I don't like it. Part of it is that they use the word "swear", where, in my opinion they could've just used "know" like in the original.

I love how God is working in and through your life. Worship music fills your soul and carried by His Spirit. Secular music cannot ever touch or reach that space. It is a celebration of this perfect God who loves to share his being with you through the Holy Spirit. He comes swiftly to where we are to let us know I LOVE YOU! LET ME SHARE MY SELF WITH YOU. WOW! This was actually exactly what God was telling me. He wanted me to stop being obssessed kpop. Because it is ungodly and I wanted to grow closer to God and it still is hard, even if I am mentally thinking “I am not going to get into this” there’s something spiritual about it and it is affecting me. Please pray that I will overcome this and soon will give it all up to grow the closest to God. Edit: hings are getting better for me. kpop isn't a huge interest of mine and i deleted other songs from my playlist and now only have gospel music. I check out kpop but i'm happy i'm not like i was before

I've always been terrible at memorizing lyrics, as a kid growing up I would get so frustrated that I wasn't able to pick up lyrics like other kids at my school, walking around chanting secular music. it does not matter how many times Ive heard a song (of there are Some exceptions) I know the beat (I’m really good at recognizing instrumentals) , but I won't know the name or the words. I see now God has definitely done that on purpose. I'm currently transitioning from secular music. It's hard because that's how a lot of my friends bond, but I just don't care to hear it anymore.

There was a time when I used to listen to secular music even after becoming a born again Christian but gradually I stopped listening those songs i liked so much because Vihan is right once you enter the throne room of God it is so beautiful and the peace that overwhelms you is inexplicably captivating! This automatically takes out desire of listening any secular music now I love Christian worship songs only! I can correlate with Vihan because I have experienced it myself! Now its so wonderful to be in His presence during worship that I never want to listen any secular song again!

Music has a HUGE effect in our spirit and on our emotions especially for those that have a passion for music. It’s very easy to be drawn the wrong way overtime when listening to the wrong music. This is why the enemy uses the music industry to influence many including through some (fake--Christian) artist music and draw them away from GOD. The Holy Spirit is the seal of the believer and you can’t lose salvation. BUT you CAN quench and grieve the Spirit, and you can also be filled. Other than that, great video! Good reminder! God admonishment!

The same thing happened to me.I stopped listening to secular music and I'm not drawn to it. Every moment is precious when you worship and pray and feel the presence of the Holy Spirit in you.

There is also “Christian” music that may not be right.....hillsong and bethel have issues. I’m careful with Christian music as well.

I wouldn't be this judgemental, many songs by Hillsong and Bethel are clearly anointed, the Spirit doesn't show partiality as we do and moves through different worship teams... if you have doubts about any type of music or song, then pray and be led by the Spirit and you won't fail, if that music is meant to praise and worship God, your heart will certainly know it

This Vid was tough love😄, but yes absolutely on! One gets a certain sensitivity, an acquired taste. If my eyes have gotten adjusted to the dark, lights will hurt, and vice versa. But you know so much. Would you too, pl consider doing bible readings for some... like my son?

I have been a Christian my whole life and a member of the worship team at my church. What you are saying is exactly true. Music has such a powerful impact. Especially this year where I have been going through so much (as most of us are) I haven't been able to attend church like before and I have been tempted with secular music many times. But one thing stands true, nothing compares to holy music made to worship God❤ It is the only music that can truly heal you and make you feel new. God bless everyone and stay safe

Amen, sister. God said I should sing to Him too. So here I am, this guy born in the 80s taking voice lessons in 2020. I have found the courage to sing to toddlers. They like it. Jesus likes it. It's cool.

A little while ago I started doing something similar. I made a playlist combined with Christian music and secular music without sin. Finding the Christian music was pretty easy. Finding the Secular music without sin took longer. But after I listened through a bunch of my music I found out that some of my most favorite songs, older songs (90's and below) are usually sinless songs. So I am extremely grateful that I am able to listen to some of my most favorite songs and not sin while doing so. I still had to give up a lot of songs but I feel spiritually closer to God after I stopped listening to them.

I did the same too. It's funny cause even though my playlist is mixed with Christian music and clean secular music, I always want silence in the car because I don't desire to play anything. Music was my everything till I got saved and now it's like God replaced that part of my life and now it's not a big deal if I go all day without hearing music.

It’s insane how I’m going thru this right now and the difference in how I feel is insane. Haven’t cut music out completely but I used to listen to music allll the time and loud in my ears. I notice my mind has calmed down somewhat and I’m able to concentrate on schoolwork now. My fave Christian songs on the radio rn is famous for, defender and Amen

God is speaking to me, he led me to you, I honestly was avoiding this video I’m not even going to lie but today I studied Luke 5:1-11, when Jesus calls on His first disciple Simon Peter, and how POWERFUL the WORD OF GOD is! “Let down your nets”, even when they had been fishing all night and caught nothing, BUT (key word is always the “BUT”) Simon Peter listened to Him anyway, he OBEYED the WORD OF GOD and just like that JESUS DID THE REST OF THE WORK! The miracles He can perform in our lives is amazing! Remember to worship the miracle maker and NOT the miracles! Praise God praise Jesus Christ I think our Heavenly Father that He is calling me to something big and I’m so blessed to know that I’m listening to Him more clearly now than ever before! Bless you sister! I’m so excited for what this journey has for us children of Christ! JESUS LOVES YOU ALL!

Awesome video, Vihan!! I totally agree that secular music comes with a spirit not from God. Kinda just recently I, and also my sister decided to stop listining to that type of music and start listening to Christian/Gospel! And i'm so glad we did! : ) These are a few bands that I like. Young Oceans, Josh Garrels, Plumb, Jesus Culture, Third Day, Need to breathe, Zach Williams, Rend Collective, Steffany Gretzinger, haha I could go on.....Also can't wait to hear your gospel album!

I am going through this transition right now.. A few weeks ago, I cleared my phone of all secular songs and have only gospel/worship songs. I'm a new Christian and I felt the difference since I've listened to only Christian songs. The way the words touch my heart, there's no words to express. For my understanding, it is not wrong to listen secular song. Our intention matters in everything we do or listen.. We dont have to be drawn away the love of God by the little secular songs!! Of course, we dont have to listen dirty, violence or immorality songs.. But it is fully depend on you how you respond to yoourself and to the world. Everything and every talents are God's gifted..

Every music has his inspiration, sincere and true christians are inspired by the Holy Spirit, but who’s behind the lyrics of secular music? The more you hear it the more your spirit gets oppressed, maybe people think it is extreme but I can assure to you that if you if you let God guides you, He will tell you not to hear that. And trust me I was big on hearing all kinds of music back then.

Secular/profane songs often hindered my prayers! As soon as I was going to pray, profane music started playing in my head so that I could not concentrate on my prayers. This stopped as I quit listening to it all together. God also told me not to play secular music ever again (I was a recording artist until 2006). I just can't bring myself to listen to secular music ever again, it has become strangely disgusting to me.

God has really been convicting me about listening to metal, even the Christian metal bands. Even if the lyrics are christian, the screaming and style of play is not. Its like a mixture. Please pray for me this is pt harder than it sounds. I was a big metalhead growing up.

yes darling you are so much right but you know ,we are not under the old testament law or temple worship. word of God says in new testament; true believer will worship God, in spirit and truth. new testament worship ; the word of God gives undetstanding that music comes from the heart and from deep within ;not from the outer sources. as we read and see that Lord jesus was not the temple leader or preacher or worship singer neither His disciples. we see jesus, out and about in the street ,village and in town speaking about kingdom of God . when we love God with all our heart mind and soul and strength music flows from the heart. people around us can see and feel our fullness and joy. now a days normal christian and milk drinking believers plunged in to emotional christianity ,some what "euphorea state" and it is all " intellect. sorry ,to say. old testament worship was like, " come and see" but in new testamen is "go and tell"= go out and preach the gospel and win the soul . one has to be the living Gosple and living testimony first and utmost mission of a believer . thats the worship to do His will. may God bless you.

I 100℅ agree with you Vihan. When I was in my teen age God spoke to me through my father that I should sing for the Lord and stop singing secular songs but I took his precious words very lightly but after many years God again started putting in my heart to sing only for Him, initially it was very tough and I failed. I repented and stopped and again failed. I did this for several month till I reached a point where any time I would sing a secular song, my throat will become sore. At last when I realised this, I confessed and completely stopped singing secular songs and now I sing and dance for the Lord only. I agree with you how in the Old Testament the Levitical Priests were so dedicated and set apart for the service of the LORD and God has the same standard today for those He has called to be His own. GOD bless you. You are so spiritually mature at such a young age.

I do not listen to secular music at all,it happened gradually,you know how the Lord weens is off things and one day you look back think,mhhh,how did that happen? For me now it’s about,how does this honour God? That’s my measuring stick to what I watch and listen to or even places I go…I’m very protective of my eye and ear gates ever since I learned about the spirits behind all these secular content. I feels like tempted, when i hear the secular songs because it seem like fulfilling the passion of flesh & getting away from God 😁when it all about giving the first priority to spirit & i hear the wispers like,"always remember what u r chosen for, u r ment to sing for Christ & all your talents for Christ.. Like Bible says," the things which aren't from faith is sin.." so secular songs always makes us feel good, but those are the moments that u change your mood according to ur flesh.. Maybe spending hrs n hrs on that, especially these lockdown days.. 🤷‍♂️ But spending more time on Worship songs will always keep u feel anointed & connected to God.. Keeping spirits awake What u guys hv to say about this... 🤔

i was raised strictly orthodox jewish; no secular music, movies, tv shows, internet usage, etc religious music blows. the melody is more often than not ripped off of another secular song, and the lyrics are ripped straight from either the old/new testament, david's psalms, or some other form of religious literature. granted, there is the occasional track that is composed by someone, but still features god/religion in the context. strict parents make sneaky kids; i got my dad's old guitar for my 13th birthday, and before you know it was shredding through lamb of god, black sabbath, and august burns red riffs, and was in a heavy metal band before my16th birthday. in my opinion, you can't raise a rock n' roll kid better than that. too bad rock is out of fashion and people only care about rapping and "spittin dem bars" these days, otherwise i could've maybe had a nice little music career for a bit. hours of practice everyday for nothing? hell no, time is never a waste when you're having a hella blast
