I spent 72 hours deep in the rain forest of south east Asia surviving on wild plants and animals. The days were hot and humid and the terrain was extremely challenging in places - scaling waterfalls, crossing rivers, hacking through dense vegetation and sleeping in a hammock amongst some of natures most deadly creatures. All this took place whilst being pounded by heavy rain forest rainfall, to the point where your clothes and shoes never get a chance to dry out.
I've got to admit this was one of the most epic things I've experienced in the wild. The thought of a tiger ripping me out of my hammock in the middle of the night was something that kept me awake for hours on end! If there's ever a time to feel 'ALIVE' then it's the moment you walk out of the jungle reflecting what you've just experienced and pinching yourself with gratitude that you survived the dangers which the jungle presents you with. What an incredible experience!
Would you eat a wild frog, or, would you like to experience what I went through? Let me know in the comments!

Jaja is an amazing wilderness guide! So resourceful! The frog curry did look really good. 😋 The big spider you almost stepped on and the one after that looked a bit like a huntsman spider. They’re big, but harmless! We have them in Japan too. Speaking of, hope you’ll visit Japan someday - some amazing national parks and wilderness opportunities here, especially in Hokkaido!

Years ago we would drift on the Colorado river (out of the canyon) for bull frogs. We used a spot light and a frog gig to capture them. We skinned them and only ate the legs. We could fill a gunny sack 2/3 full and yes fried the legs would actually jump out of the frying skillet (just muscle contractions) and you are right they do taste like chicken!!

Cicadas are amazing creatures. Depending on the species they burrow into the ground For indeterminate amount of time and then all of them come up at once so either seven years nine years I think 13 years in the longest is 17 years between juvenile and adult so they will spend most of their time underground burying the ground in a river tubers roots and other insects and warmth and stuff in the ground Then when they're programmed to they all come out at once and flood the food market so that there's more abundance of them than any predator single predator or multiple predators Could eat. in the tropics they're eaten by monkeys lemurs Bush babies you name it they're eaten by everything bats hyenas everything monkeys chimps orangutans everything will eat them matter where they're at squirrels mice they can get a hold of them everything will eat them for that extra protein boost and there's just so many millions of them that can't all be in so enough survive to reproduce and lay their eggs in the soil And then in the predetermined amount of time later they'll come back up to the surface and start the cycle all over again The crop tree for the side of a house or a telephone pole shed become adults Fly off sing Looking for me to mate and then
