I can say, regarding the Body Blade, actively recovering from rotator cuff surgery (fully torn supraspinatus and partially torn infraspinatus) the Body Blade killed my ass in PT. Basically my shoulder has to re-learn how to move and COMPLETELY rebuild strength. As a PT and recovery “apparatus” this has worked VERY well - but I have to agree, using my “good arm”, the Body Blade is not a challenge. That said, the Body Blade has it’s purpose, but general fitness Is not its purpose.
@ruthreinhold56452 ай бұрын
I’m a student PT and we have a bodyblade in our classroom! Definitely not for general fitness haha. But holding out the bodyblade in front of you with shoulder flexed to 90 and elbow extended, using just your scapula to retract/protract, it can be pretty challenging 😅

The Body Blade is a rehab tool used often for shoulder/rotator cuff injuries. The idea is to let your shoulder trigger most of the movement of the blade going back and forth, while the rest of your arm stays still. It can definitely be quite the burner. To assess the credibility of the KZbin comment about tapeworms, we need to examine the medical and factual aspects more closely: 1. Travel to India and Parasitic Infections: India is indeed a country where the risk of parasitic infections, including tapeworms (e.g., Taenia solium or Taenia saginata), is higher than in many Western countries. 2. Symptoms and Diagnosis: The symptoms described-fatigue, weakness, and weight loss-are consistent with a tapeworm infection. However, a thorough doctor's visit and specific tests like stool sample analysis or blood tests would typically identify a tapeworm infection, especially if travel to a high-risk area is mentioned. 3. Tapeworm Length: A tapeworm can indeed grow very long. For example, Taenia saginata can reach up to 10 meters. The mentioned length of 9 feet (about 2.7 meters) is plausible. 4. Multiple Tapeworms in the Body: It is less common for a person to have multiple large tapeworms in different parts of the body simultaneously. Tapeworms usually reside in the intestines, and having multiple adult tapeworms in various body parts is rare. 5. Surgical Removal: Tapeworms are typically not removed surgically. Treatment usually involves antihelminthic medications (drugs that kill worms). Surgical intervention would only be necessary if there are complications, such as blockages or other mechanical problems. Overall, the comment contains some elements that are realistic and believable, such as the symptoms and the length of the tapeworm. Other aspects, like the simultaneous infection with multiple large tapeworms and surgical removal, seem unusual and less credible. Therefore, the comment might be partially exaggerated or embellished, even if there is some truth to it.

About twenty years ago I've purchased a "Power Ball" forearm trainer. It really looked like a scam, but I fell in love with the red LED stripes lighting up when you set it in motion by circling your wrists. I also liked the fact that is powered by your own movements turning it into kind of an electromagnetic gyroscope that always seems to battle with they way you want to turn your hand no matter which way around. Twenty years later I still like to use it for warming up my wrists. So I concur: Some presumed scams do deserve a chance to be tried out.

Technically they really do cause some kind of muscle contraction in the targeted areas, thus they truthfully do something for that muscle group. However, often times something completely free, such as going for a walk, would not only do everything the fitness equipment did, but would even be better at it than the fitness equipment, disproving the need for the fitness equipment.
