Jun is the most fun character that I found in tekken 8. You can play her in so many ways - very poky and thight, or very cheesy. you can play very offensive or defensive. Utilize just a few moves or abuse the numerous strings and cancels that she has. She's not overpowered that can feel dumb to play, nor she's weak that you could feel limited with her tools. She has just everything you need to play a good tekken, and can be very creative the way you play

21:20 "Uhnnnn! He died!" Phi's reactions are the best 😂 As a long-time fan of Jun, I would say that she's pretty consistently slept on. In T8, she has a lot going for her, while not as explosively scary as some other characters. I'm curious as to what new moves she'll be getting in the winter update.

Oh! Some things for you 😀 - Jun has a low crush launcher on counter in u+f 3 - you can go into a scrappy follow-up with d+f 4, which is also a counter hit launcher - f 3,2,1 is a decent extension for wall carry - if you land ff 3,3+4 or just the 3+4, then uf+2 is guaranteed
@ttpb01Ай бұрын
A dumb but effective way to use the full crouch game is to make people afraid of genjitsu stance first. Then you can just cancel that stance into crouch (F3+4 D~), also known as the Jun shimmy. The utility of genjitsu which is good for nice single hit damage is and beating lows and throws is now replaced with the threat of counter hit launches, a launching throw, and more string cheese maybe with transitions (ex: ws1,4,2 for the former and ws1,1f~/b~ for the latter) The more transitions she gets into for free, the easier it is to abuse character knowledge as theres so much she can do at every opportunity. Just take the stance pressure one stance at a time. Or you can just cancan. It always works eventually.

You should explore her more, she could be that pocket character you were looking for since your intuition with her is great. What I find with her, and this can be both a good and bad thing, is that her entire move list works as a complete package. Its good because all my options are covered but it also means that if I forget a move exists such as f4, I’m missing out on a big part of the gameplay and immediately become weaker. She takes a lot of practice in that sense, a lot of situational awareness, but it’s so satisfying when it comes together.

I really enjoy your content! Brand new to Tekken. I've been playing T8 for about three weeks, and I’m a Jun player. I can barely stay out of the green ranks, and I'm terrible at the game. At this point, I'm emotionally invested; I just want to be halfway decent. It's a super fun game, although frustrating.

True true, i also been paying attention. A lot of ppl rely on strings, thing is when ppl know it you’re left with nothing to attack. Doing plus frames into pokes seems like a good way to play. I’m scared now i will fight more solid jun players lol.

I think it might be helpful to have like, the commonly known move name (i.e. cancan, demon palm, hellsweep, orbital, etc) in the notes next to the moves that they apply to. It would be helpful so we as look through the notes, we could see the notation and then know what move it's referring to instantly, since most of us interested in the PP series are probably unfamiliar with their movelist. Or conversely, we know they have the move but don't know what the input is, so we can look at the notes and find out. So for example in the Wall Carry section of your notes you'd have like: d+3+4 (Can-can) // b+4,2 or however you'd want to format it

Another frametrap Jun has is GEN 4 into d3+4, GEN 4 is +4 on block and homing so you can get guaranteed can-cans even if the opponent is trying to do evasion. If you guys want a different wall combo but aren't keen on Jun's life cost with u+3,4 > MIA 2, you can do db+1,1,1+2 but there's less damage. Thanks for the vid Phi!
@implosiveraikouАй бұрын

Just a note you can use Jun's f,4 as a test your opponent. example, if you have heat and you are afraid of the opponent sidestepping, might use f,4 to keep them in check and then smash them with hit, if f4 hits then you're +13, meaning its a free heat smash. F,4 is +3 on block, so if they try to hit you after then they will get hit by the heat smash. You can also use throw after f,4 like 1+2 and 2+3, if they block too much. The best one is f,4 if blocked hit it with can-can to check if they mash. f4 is a beast but its a high, so be careful using it constantly. Hidden note, Jun's d1+2 evades Hworrangs flamingo stances into moves (sometimes mid moves as well). I recommend you to lap it before use ;)

Don’t sleep on back 1. Slow to start, but will do a lot of damage on counter hit and is cancelable into crouch block so you can swap to a mid or bait out an attack for a counterattack or parry. This will also help you naturally flow into your low set ups that you were talking about :-)

Stopping by and saying my challenge arc with Jin is actually been so effective I’m actually so proud of myself! Ranked up to Tenryu only 2 days from not playing ranked for so long! I literally couldn’t sleep when I was so close to Tenryu, like that was the first time in my life playing a fighting game and my determination made me a better player and for a minute there I had a flow chart! Her crouching d/b 1+2 throw is also a launcher. Its great against people that like to spam armor. Also her f, 2+3 punch parry is a launcher. You can sometimes use it on characters with slow strings. Like for instance Asuka b,2,1 the second hit comes out slow enough that it can be parried.

Btw phi, If you want a good combo ender mid-screen, you can run up after tornado, go into genjitsu stance (f3+4), and do genjitsu 3,2. Make sure to delay the 2. That will flip the opponent face down mid screen. From there you can 50/50 with genjitsu 1 or just ff1+2. At the wall, you can do ff3, 3+4 to do a ground spike and the opponent will also be face down. More mix ups from there.

An advanced version of the upforward 3 you can do is instead of down 1+2, do down back 4 (o button) and hold the down button so jun remains grounded. Then do rising 2 to uppercut the opponent and then do a combo from there. Slightly harder execution wise but does more damage. Down 1+2's main advantage is being able to do it regardless of positioning if you sidestep an attack and use up forward 3
