"Shame! Degeneracy!" was, in fact, the perfect response. A straightforward denunciation is all that many situations require.
@sandstorm7768 Жыл бұрын
Straightforward and honest for sure, but don't forget why. Always be sure to explain *why* we believe these things, because that's what actually changes minds and shows nonbelievers that we don't live by blind faith, but by reason as well. Yes God commands these things, but explain the *benefits* of living by His commands. If we don't, they call us superstitious bigots and and mock us as foolish. Don't give them such a foothold.
@tdexter4959 Жыл бұрын
@@sandstorm7768 I think you'll find that they call us bigots and mock us even when we argue our positions robustly. But you are right! We should make arguments and explain benefits. Doing so is an act of charity. Further, God commands it. (I Peter 3:15) I'm just pointing out that not all circumstances allow for a fully-fleshed out argument. Our responses should be proportionate. In this circumstance, Deacon Robinson was responding to a person who made a noise - not a statement, certainly not an argument - just a noise. But what the noise signified was clear enough, and he smacked it down in epic fashion. I think it was an inspired move. Anyway, thank you for the reply above. Hope you have a great day!

Calvin Robinson should be at speaker's corner with his videos being seen all around the world. Instead he is deserting the UK because of his obsession with Glitzy clerical robes, repetitive prayers and rosary. These actions take him closer to RC than the Evangelical churches who follow the teachings of Jesus and his disciples who have no need for fancy clothing and group repetitive prayer which was scolded by Jesus. Jesus instructed us to pray directly to God in private. His reason for going to the US is not to serve God but to serve Calvin's need to find a church (to accept him) steeped in 4th century + + religion which continued to moved further away from 1st century teachings.

The timing of this video is AMAZING, because I literally just had a minor meltdown this last weekend (after continuing to not see any real success in my multiple efforts with different churches and people for getting aligned with the truth of our Lord in Scripture). In doing so, the Lord helped me to realize that His affirmation of me HAS to be enough, so I am not tempted with compromise or get discouraged when it's not received from others. Jesus reminded me of all He's done to make me the man and disciple I am today, and affirmed me in all the ways I wasn't getting from my lack of fruit with others. The truly heart breaking part about that is that I used to be much more resilient in the beginning of my walk with Him. I've been getting beaten down, and didn't realize my need for being reaffirmed in the love of my Father. It was a tough go for a bit, but a tremendous blessing and grace once He broke through that for me. You're not alone Reverend. Keep up the God work! In Christ, Andrew

Reverend Robinson, your words at Oxford and here on PWQ speak volumes as to the kind of attitude the followers of Jesus ought to have in public, so please be encouraged and not beaten down. "Shame, degeneracy!" are words no one wants tossed in their direction, but it's not like they don't already know. The sinner knows his/her sin because the Law is undeniably written on our hearts. I could unpack that in our current context, but you know what I mean here. Those words should have been thrown at me more recently than I'd like. I've voluntarily eaten them in recognition of God's goodness and even though they hurt going down, they are necessary for my growth. That I should speak them myself in the face of falsehood and evil also hurts, reminding me of my own lack of moral authority, but even so, they are spoken in the Spirit of goodwill towards men and women who desperately need the WORDS OF LIFE. Similarly, always wearing your collar in public as a reminder of Christ to the wider world is a sign that the Lord still moves among us invisibly, humbly, kindly, and touches people in ways we don't determine because we do not command Him. Even more so than a person confused and deluded by the current trends of disordered sexuality and identity (I just can't call it the LGBTQ2IA+ yada yada "community" anymore because even now that "community" is fragmenting and turning on itself), the true Church, those who call on His name, must see their union with Him and one another as our PRIMARY IDENTITY. Yet unlike those with the antichrist way of thinking (not unredeemable, thankfully, like you and I and anyone else), that identity must, by its nature, be genuine and not simply an affected persona. Otherwise it is most likely either: false, like the wolf in sheep's clothing, or; deluded, much like the Emperor wearing his sporty new invisible clothes. I have yet to meet, speak with, or hear of a truly genuine and not deluded/affected person trumpeting the post-Christian woke agenda and "identifying" as one of the myriad sexualities and gender identities or species identities, and I say that knowing my own limited Western context. All that to say that a simple symbol of the real truth worn humbly in the midst of a storm of unreality can be an extremely powerful and uncompromising bulwark against the spreading darkness. Press on, brother.
