Brother I used LiveScope from Panoptics through the LVS34. It completely wrecked my fishing. I took it off last November and have had one of the most epic bass fishing years I’ve had in over a decade by relying on the hard earned skills and knowledge I picked up over the last 35 years of hardcore fishing! I do miss it sometimes because its a truth box and will show you what your doing wrong or when to change something up because the fish are in a funky mood but man it really does detriment skill and gut instinct. I don’t know that I’ll ever put it on again!!

Maybe the bigger non FFS days were more favorable days than the other? I use my Side and Down scan to locate promising areas and to locate fish. Then use my Active Target Forward or Down to actually fish my location. It helps to see the reaction of the bass towards your lure and then try different techniques until you get bit. Awesome and very informative show you have, I learn a lot from your videos. Keep it up!!

Something to point out here: He fished with FFS the first month, followed by no FFS the second month. Now I'm 100% sure that the FFS increased his catch rate, but I also know that bites are more frequent early in the summer and taper off as you go. So some of the difference could have come from a time effect. But overall, great experiment and great video!

I have started turning it off specifically for brushpile fishing for large bass, troll in slow from further out and know where the brushpile/structure is to throw to with ALL electronics off. YES.... I tend to agree with the appreciation of catching fish via the surprise element techniques )old school). However, I have a livescope and almost always run it as a primary sonar unit. I think you will always learn new things about it by leaving it on. Other reasons are, finding bait and eliminating unproductive water. Years ago, we'd spend hours fishing our favorite wind blown banks etc and now when there's no bait can see why we're not getting bit. Live is a great learning tool but I think it sets a poor example of what angling should be about. The surprise element!

Partially has to do with the strength of those sonars. The bigguns know better and can feel it in their lateral line. There’s things you can learn with ffs and a lot you can learn without. I’ve noticed ice fishing that the weaker the sonar signal the less finicky or scared the fish are. I run an old school vexilar with an s-cable to cut the power down and it helps a lot. I’ve out fished people with livescope and it makes more of a difference in smaller bodies of water and shallow. Plus ffs sonar won’t shoot through the weeds like a vexilar but is better around wood cover.

i think you're the victim of target separation when using FFS. with regular sonar you focus more on structure and see the big marks more easily. the best way to account for this is to select a bunch of spots and assign your sonar treatment to each spot so that it is all balanced. in other words, targeting schools of fish is biased due to the difference in the technology you are using.

Without some statistical math proving significance, which I haven’t practiced in years, I would doubt that 8 trips on the water is going to prove much here. Several assumptions could be drawn: the methods used without FFS are more likely to catch larger fish etc. It’s hard not to claim that FFS is more effective when 3x fish were caught; however, in the spirit of the above were all variables controlled? Almost invariably no, hence the necessity of many more days on the water to draw a real conclusion. I think we can all, probably safely assume, that the ability to know exactly where a fish is and how it behaves with the introduction of a lure by utilizing FFS is of low likelihood to reduce your efficiency. Perhaps use the same technique/baits with FFS to test your previous theory.
@FishtheMoment4 ай бұрын
I started the video off by stating this was not enough data to draw statistical significance and I also mentioned that I think I could catch more and bigger fish with FFS if I spent more time mastering it. @@poststalone1496it depends on the lake and fishing pressure. Before FFS, there were a lot of guys that brought in 4 fish in tournaments that weighed 15-20lbs and were one fish short of their limit because they were focused on larger fish. And a lot of the guys who bring in 5 may have only caught 7 bass all day. It’s even more apparent when watching live coverage before FFS.

To small of a sample and not enough wide range of body of waters.

There you have it folks. The verdict is in. 3x more fish. Because- of coarse that's what happens. To argue anything other than that is asinine. But that's not even the biggest issue. The issue is- using this garbage completely removes you from the art of "angling". Get it off the water!

The real question is...are you fishing the same body of water that you know very well, with way points all ready marked? If so all that data is inaccurate. Try a body of water you haven't fished before. One day with FFS and one day without FFS at totally different spots, then, you have true data. Also go 6 weeks apart for the test.

Interestingly, I fished on lakes I knew well, but hadn't fished in almost a year. I also caught all of my fish for this analysis on areas I've never fished before so I think the data is pretty realistic to fishing without having spots found ahead of time.

First time I’ve watched your channel since you became a live scope user. I liked the videos before you started cheating

Sad that your “experiment” is the reality for most fishermen. It’s what we do every time we go fishing. Such a disconnect.

I've caught thousands of fish over the years. . . all without electronics. None. . Ever. bet there are a few more out there like me that could give anyone a run for their money in a tournament , with NO electronics. Fishing is not about using electronics. . learn to fish, instead of learning to play a video game.
@singletrackmarc8194 ай бұрын
Sounds good lol. I've been fishing my whole life with no electronics and catch fish as well but there's not a chance you can compete with no electronics at all. Maybe on a lucky day but that's like saying a blind person can color in the lines just as good as someone who can see

FFS SHOULD BE BANNED!

Don’t let miserable Randy to influence you. Ever since I heard him say the co angler basically wasn’t aloud to fish. His very selfish outlook with just a miserable take on FFS. Fish use whatever you want.

FFS should be band from tournament fishing!! Also the use of guide information as the pros are SUPPOSED to be the foremost authority on bass fishing. Just my thoughts!!

Nobody cares about that dude even though he's correct, ffs is bad for fishing in general

My vote is for you to primarily do traditional electronics technique videos. Your past traditional techniques videos are the best on KZbin. Unfortunately,FFS greatly diminishes the value of your past teachings I have been on boats with FFS, it is more efficient but it’s far less enjoyable. FFS limits the number of baits, techniques, and strategies necessary to catch fish. I watch KZbin because I enjoy learning about different techniques, baits, structure and strategies

Personally, I think staring at a screen all day would get old. If I have to do that to win a bass tournament, then I won’t fish bass tournaments.
