So good to see you back Rob, I really, really enjoy your videos. +11 in atrocious conditions so soon after your comeback is good stuff and I'd love to see more of you stacking and tilting, at least until you have 'trapped' the swing. To coin another Moe Norman-ism I also think you would benefit from developing 'a feeling of greatness' for those pressure rounds :)

I’m liking this new swing. Thanks to your last video, I’ve been following Saguto and this may work for me. Keep it up.

What possessed you to golf in a monsoon brother. I don't mind some rain, but golfing in the wind sucks. You did do surprisingly well though I have to say. A one stroke per hole handicap is more than fair in those conditions. I have been practicing with the Saguto method for a few months now and am hitting my irons better than I ever have in my life. But I am not doing as well with my hybrids and woods. Funny thing is before I changed my swing I could not hit my irons well at all....especially my longer irons so I swapped them out for hybrids. Looks like I might need to go back to using long irons because I am not giving up the sweet contact (and divots) I am getting now for anything. Really cool to see you having success with this method as well. Gives me more confidence it is not a fluke. Although like you mentioned, I did not see as much weight on your left side like the last video. As you know it takes time to make those type of changes part of your normal routine. Your closing thoughts were spot on too. Exactly how I feel about this swing. It is so different but the results just speak for themselves...for me anyway. I have been round and round with swing changes, but I feel like I finally found one that fits my style of golf and does not require nearly as much effort. So I am fully committed and have no plans to go back to my old swing. In fact I just signed on with Saguto Golf to get access to even more information. I hope you stick with it too, but I get if you don't. Golf is a very personal sport to be sure.

Thanks Rob, appreciate the content! Good effort in those conditions! I've just found some stuff in my swing and it's ramped up my power, so I'm in an exciting place with my golfing right now too. Enjoy your wedding and the marathon, I'm sure you'll smash it!

Great video Rob, you navigated those very harsh conditions very well. And I see signs that your new swing is already starting to give you more consistency.
@davidwood5922 жыл бұрын
That was solid playing for those conditions. You should keep playing this swing, as most of the shots were struck solidly. Saguto is definitely helping your game.

Mad dogs and Englishmen go out in a howling gale!! 🤣🤣 Well done for playing all 18 holes. A calmer day and you'll be ripping it! Btw have experienced something similar but instead of rain, it was sleet..... Brrrr!!

Love it Rob! Question, I remember a few years back you did a video with the Zen guys (Danny I believe) why do you think you got away from them? The only reason I ask is I have been obsessed with their videos ever since I watched them on your channel 1st. It’s transformed my game completely! I went from a mid to high handicapper to single digits quickly. I’m in the United States with no hands on possibilities with the Zen team and I am still killing it.

Lovely rhythm in your golf swing, quite smooth despite the lousy conditions. Decent round with new swing Just one suggestion: maybe try stack and tilt on the tripod too😁. Best of luck in the marathon, a great undertaking☘

Bit too much tilt on it, not enough stack!

love it mate! windy conditions are so cool - like Bodi in Point Break looking for the perfect monster wave - so challenging ! how do you get the shot tracer? That is awesome.

Couple quick points! Just found the channel last night. But I watched the video on the swing, looks weird. But I actually gave it a go today on the back 9. And I think it was really good. Shots were straight, good distance and pretty easy swing. And my second point, are you crazy playing in those conditions? Lol. I live in California, and generally don’t play if it’s under 50 degrees Fahrenheit.

Pretty respectable score in those conditions. RND is a strange and tough test at the best of times. I remember playing there in a junior open many years ago and there was a big hail storm on the back 9 and it really hurt my ears 😆

Think of the positives Rob. At least nobody held you up 😉 Reminded me of a competition I played at St Andrews Dukes course on the day they called off the Ryder Cup at Celtic Manor. Weather was even worse in St Andrews but it was the final of a national competition and folk had driven from all over the country so out we went 🙈😬 Thought you hit it well and that was a very respectable effort in those conditions 👏👏👏

In that wind I recon a tour pro could hit a par 5 green from the tee easily maybe not even need a driver to do so

At least you had your hat, you'd have been freezing otherwise. On the new swing, aside from the wind it looks like your shots are starting on the line you're aiming for, that's always good.

I could do with a chopped down version of the 165 and 300 + Drive, to flash in front of the Guy that says I always hit 280 off the Tee. It was nice to see real Golf for a change.

Clearly you haven’t played a lot of golf in Scotland mate….too many of your shots are waaaayyyy up in the air at the mercy of the wind. Hitting stinger drives 10 feet off the ground and bump and run shots from 50 yards and in are the only way to score in conditions like those! 😉

You have to try new ideas if u want to improve unless of course you are a plus hcp. Just FYI the biggest improvements in my swing have come from a swing thought that has worked straight away not from hitting thousands of balls down the range. Although the range is good to ingrain something good. I’m sure good players have a different thought pattern or feel to hitting the ball but because it comes naturally they can’t verbalise it. Most crappy players have a very similar swing. Almost always fast transition, lead with the hands, OTT and flippy at impact decelerating through the ball. Add in a sprinkle of head up and a lack of confidence for good measure and you’re doomed. All good golfers have similar traits to each other, good balance, stability, good timing, leading with the hips, finishing the swing properly and lagging the club more and holding on to it longer. It looks effortless. I won’t say where I am on the spectrum. 😂play well. Richy.
