have you noticed any difference in how the clutch feels compared to the 2017? I work at a honda dealer and have worked on a few Si's, and have noticed that the clutches on the 17-19 feel alot heavier with a more noticable engagement point as compared to my '20 that is way easier and more linear. I wonder if it has anything to do with mileage, or the fact that the '20s have a different flywheel (17-19 cost is $1200, '20 cost is $600, different part numbers)

I just co-sign a 2020 Honda SI for my nephew too. His dad once co-sign a car for me, I can’t be too greedy and look the other way, when the salesman came back and told him that he didn’t have enough credit because he was too young and a first time buyer. He told me afterwards that when the salesman told him he needs a co- signer, his soul dropped. It took me 10 second to tell him that I’ll sign for his new SI. He didn’t know why I would do this but I told him that I’m just returning a favor his dad did long time ago.

All black wheels, slightly tweaked interior color, Honda sensing, LED headlights, Shorter final drive gear ratio, updated exterior with those new accents where the honeycomb grille used to be and adaptive sound control which basically pumps in engine noise through the speakers when in sport mode(dont know if I'd consider that an upgrade). Honestly, the only thing I could see about this being worth an upgrade is the Honda sensing if safety features are something important to you. Everything else is meh. Wheels, headlights, interior, honeycomb grille change can all be changed with aftermarket without having to buy a whole new car. The shorter final gear ratio is not worth an upgrade. A slightly faster 1/4 mile time at 15.1 vs 15.2 of the previous years and the same 0-60 at 6.8 seconds. Honestly would be more annoying when trying to cruise at highway speeds as your rpms will be about 500-600 higher.

@@darkknight097 hey Daniel, I just got my first civic last week--2020 si sedan. I've driven manual all my life. Wife and I took a drive from Cali to Arizona to break in our new ride and the 6th gear was perfectly fine. Getting 38.9 mpg avg was super especially considering it wants super gas. Better gas milage than my daughter's 2019 civic coupe with 160hp.
@darkknight0974 жыл бұрын
@@DarrenValen If it's your first then that's perfectly fine. It's a great car to have. My intial comment was only about going from a 2017-2019 SI to a 2020. Outside of wanting Honda sensing, it doesnt make sense to move to a 2020 if you already have a 2017-2019. Everything except the shorter final drive, which isnt worth trading in for, And Honda sensing can be bought and installed on a 2017-2019 by going to the Honda parts department without having to take on a whole new car loan.

I don't use them much, but adaptive cruise and lane keep are great to have on boring highway drives. Major props to Honda for making adaptive cruise available with the manual; it's what clinched the Si for me over other models (Jetta GLI and Forte GT). I'm also thinking about adding a tune at some point, which is readily available.

tryintogetfit24 if you use your Si for the sole purpose of commuting, then yes, the longer final drive does make sense to keep revs lower for higher mpg. As for performance driving, the shorter final drive allows for quicker acceleration which is better for spirited driving.

Because it would be pointless. The FK7 already has the Type R chassis and the same turbo engine as the Si, just down tuned by only 20HP. The FK7 hatch handles better on the turns IMO due to its chassis design. I do believe the Si sedan has a higher top gear so it can top out faster than the FK7 in a straight line battle. Both cars can be molded the same way, be it eco flash for HP gains or bolt on turbos with either flash or no flash software. If I were to model either, personally I'd invest in the FK7 HB to be closer to a Type R

Thank you! Yeah the old civic in silver got old for me. It's been tempting to black out the new car, trying to resist 😂

Pawinn, congrats on the latest upgrade to a 2020 Si! I was looking at getting into one until I watching another owners video describing some of the gripes he's had with his 2020. The most annoying and probably concerning gripe he had was the Collission Mitigation Braking system. I think he mentioned that the system abruptly hit the brakes on him after the system picked-up a false-positive when a car turned in front of him and the system thought a collision was about to happen. I think the pre-2020 models (2019 or older) have not incorporated these safety nannies that create issues like this. If you run into an issue, I sure would like you to make a video about it and describe your experience. The 2020 Si owner's work-around this is to disabled the CMBS system everytime he goes out for a drive which can be pretty annoying to also do everytime. I'm looking into a 2019 Type R right now because to my understanding, those same safety nannies are being installed on the 2020 coming out this year. I hate to see those safety systems intrude in any way while driving spiritly up in the mountains and/or around city streets or just in town. Looking forward with your new journey in your new ride and the many videos I know you'll be sharing along the way!!

Totally understand where your concerns are coming from. So far I haven't had any serious issues with the new Honda sensing features, but it definitely isn't perfect. I'll be sure to make a video talking more about this once I get some solid miles in and get used to the car 🙏.

That feature sucks. It's good for shitty drivers that are not alert. Otherwise it's almost caused me to get into a few accidents.

FWIW, I've put about 5000 miles on my 2020 and have had no problems with the collision mitigation braking system. Occasionally it has beeped at me when slowing into traffic towards a light, but it's never stopped the car in any way to put me in a dangerous situation. And the other stuff (lane keep, lane departure warning) you can set to off by default, or turn off with a single hard-button press on the dash.

Congrats Pawinn. Is there a reason you need 4 doors? The coupe looks 10x better than the sedans IMO.
@Pawinning4 жыл бұрын
Thank you 🙏! I want 4 doors for a daily cuz I already got a project car that's a 2 door vert. I do agree the 10th gen coupes look so slick, but I like the extra room with the sedans for hauling gear/tools
@Drover264 жыл бұрын
Yeah I will say the coupes look alot more sportier. They make the spoiler stand out alot more.
@Drover264 жыл бұрын
They might as well just design the sedans like the type R but then nobody would buy a type R.

I have a 2017 Canadian si and I don’t see a reason why would I trade for 2020
@Pawinning4 жыл бұрын
Canadian models already have some of the existing tech on the 2020s if I'm not mistaken? Also jealous you guys have rear heated seats/wireless charging units too.
@hussali88384 жыл бұрын
Yes heated rear seats the led headlights and wireless charger I do like the 2020 only in black

I have a 2019 black accord I’m thinking about trading up to the 2020 Accord 2.0T they better have a 6 speed available. You think it’s worth it? What kind of discounts did you get how did u negotiate?
@degoek4 жыл бұрын
They are just doing longer financing msrp for most part is staying the same, with the covid going on you def shouldnt have a problem finding a 6spd accord as right now theyre not selling much, i test drove one and it was nice lot more power then the Si for sure.

How much was the TIV on the 2017 SI?
@Pawinning4 жыл бұрын
The TIV was ~ $15500 with 49k on the odo, and the car was considered in "average condition", and this value was more than what I owed on the car by ~$2300

Such a shame it's not a 2 door coupe...this one has more trunk and rear space for the kids my wide has it and i have the LX coupe and the rear while noticeably smaller inside looks A LOT better outside! Nice ride tho man! good video thanks!

Holy crap man, that is were I bought my Type R at. Joe Orlando my sales guy is awesome. I have bought like 3 Honda's from there. Thats so funny. I was just there last week looking at the 2020 Type R.

I feel like this was an opportunity to try a different platform but I get why you got it there isn't much out there for around 25k that would beat a si
@veegizzlemilliken64414 жыл бұрын
A used turbo Hyundai veloster could outperform a civic si of that year.😎
@Jbaaaaak4 жыл бұрын
Most cars around 25k would best the SI. GTI comes to mind as a better car in nearly every way
