I think the issue is in aiming for leftovers. The great thing about a twist out is after the protective style of twists you get a bonus style at the takedown. Over a decade ago I got comb coils as a new natural and i remember the stylist explaining to me that a lot of women don't like natural styles so she wanted to make sure that i actually wanted to play with natural styles. Today in the natural hair community instead of learning cool natural styles it seems the focus is now more on changing curl pattern. I remember *flashback* when natural hair videos had a lot of fro hawks, creative twists, Banta etc. Now its hard to see those styles without weave or the focus being more on the takedown and changing of the look of hair curl pattern

@@TheStarPuppy it has been completed. I like the way it looks. Didnt get beach wave curls tho . More like roller set after 2 days on stretched hair that decided it didnt wanna BE stretched. With that I will do bantu knots when I straighten my hair once a year or as a protective style cause I can get this look with rollers-_-
@MsEss023 жыл бұрын
Editing Danielle you are absolutely right. My change: If someone doesn't have curly hair and they do this style they will see a bigger difference from their natural straight hair. But for us Cs it just looks like a twist/braidout 😂 I see more curly hair folks using this style when they are growing out hair because they want natural hair without a big chop and this styles all the straight pieces. More change: it is fun to conquer hair styles even if we don't plan on using them again 🙌🏾

This is exactly my issue with 4C hair. The extraordinary amount of effort for a... cute ish style that will last a few hours/day or days if you’re lucky. Until you have to remoisturise. I really have like... a lot to do in my life. Thinking about my hair soooooooo much is so exhausting. That being said... I love my natural 4C hair! Honestly keeping my hair simple, detangled, and moisturized has been the sweet spot. Other people are constantly expecting 4c hair to be curl defined (sometimes sure but everyday??? tangle-city) but also somehow stretched bc it’s expected to look long or be intensely styled to some other curl definition (twist outs and bantu knots!. While other curly hair types can just wash n go and that actually means wash n go not a 12 hour experience! I had to learn the hard way; like I can do them fast now but the constant upkeep! 4c hair is as difficult as we make it out to be. Once we let go of unrealistic standards of time-intensive ass hairstyles everyday and just let it be, 4c is actually way easier
@wendyk60814 жыл бұрын
Shakirah Rogers agreed!! I’ve definitely figured out a low maintenance routine that works for me. I focus on hydration and moisture.
