I got a velvetiser last year for Xmas. It's amazingly good. Not sure what you meant about subscribing for chocolate packet deliveries etc. You can get the hotel chocolate packets from the shops and some supermarkets for it (just their own super high quality choc) but it works with pretty much all of them. (Willy's hot chocolate mix from Waitrose is bomb) I wouldn't put ice in it (prob work) as I'm worried that'd damage the spinner. But you could just pour over ice like professionals do for cold drinks? Spout and handle make it super easy to pour, it's self clean is very useful and it just works. Plus it's by Dualit so it's prob going to last almost forever. You should try one, even as a one off test.

I would use the normal spinner and fill it up to max. Then I would add a small amount of milk with the frothier spinner and pour on top. If that makes sense. So I get a full cup and frothy top 😂

One thing to consider with getting a milk frother such as this is check your hot water kettle, and get a froth device compatible with the same base so you can swap both out on your counter quickly. Most likely they will use the same base station, and this will save space on your counter and from having to switch the plugs back and forth.

Barry, Put the machine away and make some Spanish hot cocoa. Use: 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder, 1 cup sugar, 7 tsp. corn starch, 1/2 cup water, 4 cups milk. In a saucepan mix the cocoa powder and sugar, dissolve the corn starch in the 1/2 cup water, mix it into your cocoa mix, gradually heating up and adding your 4 cups of milk, let it sit for 10 minutes. I have a Velvetiser, however I haven't tried it in the machine. I just like my Spanish chocolate, it's like melted pudding. I use less sugar, but that's just personal preference . I first had it in Madrid, and fell in love with this recipe. In your machine, try mint cocoa powder, it's really good, just another suggestion.

From my understandings, as an at home barista, with my fancy espresso machine, the froth (if done right) brings the sweetness to the top. If you drink it slow, you get a little sweeter taste in each sip. Of course, the one in the kettle, is not a proper one. This is the one in the video. As an added note, the fats in the chocolate is what you most likely frothed.

Came close to buying a cheaper one after my Velvetiser broke after many years but went for another on sale, because it makes coffee, matcha, tea, everything bloody else you can think of warm drink wise and it's beyond easy to clean which when you have many disabilities is a pro for sure.
