3 things I wish I knew when I started on the carnivore diet: 1: Going in cold turkey was a bad idea. My first month on the diet was characterized by low energy, a short period of "Keto flu", constipation and not feeling great at all. I was advised to make a gradual transition, but I ignored it, and it almost made me quit before started reaping the benefits of the diet. 2: Regular consumption of Kefir and bone broth helps a lot. Bone broth can be substituted with electrolyte supplements, but for people who want to limit or eliminate the need for supplements, bone broth helps a lot with the muscle cramps that a lot of people seem to experience. Kefir really works wonders for gut health, if that ever becomes an issue. Taking out fiber has been an eye-opening experience for me in the longer term, but I still wish I had consumed Kefir during that first month on the diet. I was constipated for nearly 2 weeks back then, I couldn't have known that it was only a temporary issue. It's a radical diet, and the body will need time to adapt, so jumping into it isn't a good idea. 3: Adding uncomfortably high amounts of butter/tallow/fat was a challenge. Limiting fat and salt intake is so hard-wired into my brain that I was still carefully assessing how much to add to my meals, even after realizing that it would be a solution to my initial constipation issues. A whole stick of butter might not be necessary, but I do think people have to try adding a lot of it when they start on the diet, and then determine whether they need to increase or decrease the amount. Too much fat will lead to diarrhea, not enough leads to constipation. Trial and error is the key, and it should be experimented with during a time when you know you're not going to be around other people 😂

Im 35 years old I've been eating carnivore since jan 18th 2024 today is march 23rd 2024. I started my journey at 316 pounds. I have an active manual labor job. Would wake up groggy and tired probally from sleep apnea not treated. I would consume 2 energy drinks and a cup of coffee every morning and more at lunch. Just to keep going. In 2 months of carnivore I'm down to 252lbs and have been hitting the gym hard . My chronic back pain and joint issues have disappeared. My shortness of breath and mild cough that never went away is gone. My hormones are starting to normalize. My testosterone is up. Not monitored by a doctor. But trust me i know. My gains in the gym are insane. Im not even close to my goal but feel night and day different. I was only going to try this for 3 months then try to go keto-vore. But im realizing this may be optimal human diet. Proofs in the pudding right. The only thing i haven't managed to get over is the brain fog yet. There has been days of clarity but more days slightly hazed over. But still better than my norm. My diet consist of meat eggs butter cheese Breakfast 4 to 6 eggs 4 strips bacon ¼lb breakfast sausage all natural version Dinner Ribeye steak Hamburger patty Chicken thighs Sardines, fish. Butter

@gfrancisco8870 fasting can help, but it's not a long-term solution. sure, you'll eliminate those bad foods, but you might also miss out on essential nutrients. prolonged fasting can lead to deficiencies and muscle loss. it’s a balance. cutting out junk and eating a balanced diet gives you the benefits without the risks.

Hi, My calorie needs are 2000 cal a day, so I set my calories at 1700 calories. I have a fat free body weight of 165lbs, so I always eat 165 to 170g of protein that is 680calories. I eat Zero carbs, So the rest of my calories come from fat, 113g of fat. Everyday at 8am I start with a Bullet proof coffee with 10g of grass fed butter, 10g of MCT oil and one scoop of grass-fed collagen, meal one 11am 10oz chicken breast, meal 2 3pm 150g of Haddock, meal 4 7pm 10 strip loin steak. That gives me that gives me 170g pro, 113g fat, 0 carbs. If I am extra hungry I eat more protein and fat and the timing of the meals don't matter, this timing just fit my daily routine but as long as you get your numbers in for the day is all that matters. I only exercise 1 to 2 times per week. This routine developed to fit my life not the other way around. I just made sure to get the most important things in and everything else fell into place. I hope this helps.

Did you notice any problems with acne or muscle cramps afterwards? Do you perhaps sneak sugar in anywhere in your diet? I am just curious because I am on the carnivore diet now for 3 months, lost quite a bit of weight, fixed some arthritis and other health problems. But as those problems were fixed I began to notice other issues like acne for the first time in my life.. I never really got it during puberty, maybe one big zit a year that was it. But on the carnivore diet I am noticing way more acne issues.. Also I am noticing more muscle cramps.. I was wondering if you noticed these and if so did you find remedies to them?

Hey brother, I started carnivore last November and most of the doctors that are carnivore and have a youtube channel always talk about how all their diabetic patients and others they know or heard of those who did the carnivore diet have cured yes, I said CURED their diabetes. The reason is you're cutting out most, if not all carbs, sugars, and artificial sweetners, which are very bad for your microbiome. Your body will correct it's self. Just something to think about.

I guess the main benefit of the diet is by completely eliminating carbs your body uses your body fat to produce the energy that you would usually get from consuming carbs, a lot have found that its helped with aches and pains, people only do it to lose body fat that’s all you need to know really.
@AlexMinor
@AlexMinor 6 ай бұрын
@@rossrobson91 losing weight isn’t the only reason people do it. A lot of people find a carnivore diet helps them to eiminate or improve the symptoms of their auto immune conditions. Wrong, u don't need carbs to raise ur blood sugar as a type one unless u below 50 or so. U just need to eat protein. Ur body will convert it into glucose and casue a small spike to bring it back. I'm speaking from experience. Ima type 1 and I'm on carnivore. It the easiest for type 1. Reduce my insulin intake by 50% or 60%. Plus once ur fat adapted ur able to water fast up to 72 hours. Done it plenty of times. It just takes adjustment to figure out how much insulin u need to take. Casue there is no scale for grams of protien to units of insulin. Once u get it down its perfect. This guy is just unaware of it casue he is doing for a day. U gotta do it for weeks to adapt.

I tried this diet, and it wasn’t a great experience. My energy level crashed after like half a week in.

That's completely normal because your body is dumping electrolytes. You have to supplement electrolytes with something like LMNT or just salt the crap out of your food with pink Himalayan salt. I personally don't do this diet anymore but I did have success on it.

I swear y’all have selective hearing … this dude clearly states he is a type 1 diabetic not even 3 mins into the video .. he CAN’T go 30 days on a carnivore diet . When his blood sugar levels get low he has to eat carbs to get his blood sugar levels back up

if anyone hasn't tried it yet, try a surf & turf version of the carnivore diet! mash up some salmon, tuna, sardines or kippers and chuck 'em in your bowl of ground beef. add some egg yolks, add some butter. go to town! i call it "the dog bowl" and nothing beats it; not even steak. imo, your success on this diet could actually come down to how easy it is to just wolf down calories, and i'm really bad at eating steaks. and hey, the cheaper the better anyway
