From somebody who has been using this for years: 1. Very important to have big breakfast before taking it. 2. set alarm for 5-6 hours after you take it and have some food then (it makes the hunger go away, and because you are in such a tunnel vision you will forget to have lunch) The headache comes exclusively when you havent had food. 3. Social behaviour changes - yes it will happen, but it will just make you less sensitive and more sort of mechanical about everything. So in a way its a plus and a minus. You stop reacting to everything with emotions and sort of think through things loginally. My wife calls it robot mode. Cant say anything from the medical point of things - Im not a doctor, but this got me through university and many years of engineering and design work.

In Australia, a pack of 60 pills 100mg each costs $105AUD, and thats the original and best brand. I cant imagine how unbelievably expensive this is in the US. Modafinil is also not classified as a controlled drug here. Its schedule 4, which is just a prescription medicine, means a lot more drs are inclined to prescribe it off label. Whereas meds such as dexedrine can almost only be prescribed by psychiatrists or sleep drs. A lot of GPs have told me here they will lose their license if they prescribe dex, upon bring audited. Modafinil does work very well for chronic fatigue syndrome for me. You must however be your own policeman on this med, take it in moderation and only when you need to, everyday is a killer and you will become very dependent on the effect. No one is immune to addiction, please be careful and mindful.

It sounds to me as if you might have a rare form of Narcolepsy (Type 2), which comes without Cataplexy (suddenly falling asleep or fainting). I have been diagnosed with this professionally and put on Modafinil 2 x 200mg. I am a lot older than you and it does help but I still have problems with feeling sleepy often and because of Narcolepsy I don't sleep properly. It's worth getting checked out for Narcolepsy Type 2, because it gets worse over time and I felt exactly as you describe from my early 20s onwards. The tiredness, regardless of how much sleep/exercise I did progressively became worse.

From my understanding Provigil is for narcolepsy, Nuvigil is for Work Shift Sleep Disorder. Also those meds are nearly identical. I was prescribed Nuvigil for Work Shift Sleep Disorder. I worked graves, had poor sleep, daytime sleepiness and micro sleep episodes during the day. Idk if those meds are necessarily ‘non addictive’. My ex used to have a prob with amphetamines and would steal my meds. They compared the feeling as very similar 🤷‍♂️

This was so helpful. You really did your research responsibly. These are things that ppl on Adderall just have 2 learn over time sadly. Something like adderall extended release capsules you stop feeling after a few hours but it last 10 hours no matter what and the last few you just feel like shit, anxiety, non stop intrusive negative thoughts and you can not sleep. Your aware enough of your self to do this. Most are not time just GOS! so on days I didn't work I literally COULDN'T Look at my phone but the end of ur video is spot on..the best thing to do is natural supplements, eating correctly, exercising and getting the negative things that you can get out of your life out of your life but sadly eating healthy, supplements the good ones anyways and even working out sometimes is extremely crazy. Warehouse getting a prescription of Adderall if you have insurance although somewhat expensive and nowhere near is expensive as sustaining a healthy lifestyle. There's all types of blogs and things about sustaining a healthy lifestyle being cheap etc well I guess that's for rich people w all the x in the world and assistance to do all of the tedious things throughout their day for them such as their hair, their makeup, cleaning, laundry, driving, getting gas even lol all of these small things + a job take up your day and if you take phone saying that makes you hyper focused on things in time slip by when you are a perfect on these things whether they are good things or bad things it's just unattainable so either way it's not obtainable and it's driving me crazy because I need to find balance and can't stay in the small amount of Adderall I am on. It may be a very small amount but it's been years and the positives do not meet the negatives in any manner. It's just unhealthy. I literally feel like it give me in a manner of speaking. In one way it makes me better with numbers because I can think of my feet a whole lot quicker but when it comes to time I have zero perception of it. Where is one person will feel like 10 minutes was 10 hours I will feel like it was 10 seconds. Getting out of the house is nearly impossible. I guess being a girl doesn't make any easier because there's a lot more steps that go into getting ready for the day I mean I don't have to do those things but societal pressures I guess smfh but w that I'm chopping my hair off lol so step 1! Lol n r.n I'm doing all the research in the world to find something that will give me the focus clarity and energy that Adderall does I know that nothing will give me that you work feeling that I get when I first take it but that is less and less over the years that I honestly could care less about it I'm just fearful that I will not be as good at my job I need to be stuck in this brain fog of blahhhh for up to three months and seem super negative. That was never who I was prior to taking out around and I hate that is who I am now when I don't. I work in sales I have to be on my a game or I don't make $$. I don't intend on staying in sales but I think I could find the benefits of Adderall and absolutely any job. But my days off I get absolutely nothing done and that's not okay. Simple phone calls I put off. Procrastination in my middle name unless I'm up and out and going already I just don't get up and out and going. Emily living half of my life. So if anyone is doing research because they are trying to figure out if they want to get on a natural nootropic and or something like Adderall please go for the natural because I promise you that the negatives outweigh the positives every free single time! And if you're doing it for the weight loss it's incredibly unhealthy to do this I know you're not concerned about that but believe me you look better now than you will has your age and get skinnier 💯💯💯 may be vain but I know all to many ppl that got on Adderall for this reason stay on it for other reasons and end up on terrible things. I truly believe that the way that it is handed out these days children and adults is going to make it the next epidemic. It's far too easy to get a prescription of... As a child you just need to be a happy child against distracted and wham bam thank you ma'am you have ADD or ADHD that's absolutely ridiculous. Such a blanket diagnosis what's worse is there is a brain scan in order to find out if you truly do have ADD or ADHD but Dr mcenroe companies are too cheap and too greedy to actually do this therefore children are asked a series of questions as well as their parents sometimes there is a child study team brought in but only if they think there isn't even bigger issue at hand and they have a prescription of strattera, vyvanse, concerta, adderall or ritalin. It changes the chemicals in your brain at any age.. your brain is not fully formed until you are 26 27 and that's if you did not drink or do drugs or have any trauma prior to that.. I know maybe one person that fits that category if that.. so yah giving any type of narcotic to a child I just can't agree with I don't even agree with children and weed n I'm all for the natural stuff. I don't like it myself because it makes me crazy anxious but I wish I did LOL. Also you should look at different directions like good Rx and shop around for the drug if you are going to try this evening to be very aware of yourself and don't seem to be like the type of person that is going to take this and go crazy with it you seem like that type of person that would take it a few times a month and when needed. I once did that. I also used to take it and then get off of it like it was nothing. Now I just can't do that I don't know why. I take it when I don't even want to. It's making me crazy and I have to find something to replace it and just get rid of it so I don't have it to take it it's just that first three months of brain fog and fear that I'm truly worried about I mean I could obviously keep some around and stop getting prescribed it but what's that got my job? I'm still going to be taking it.. I can tell myself that I would only take it when I absolutely needed it but I would then think I absolutely needed it every time I went to work. It's definitely at this point more what Iv told myself is then what is. But once those ideals are there they are really hard to get out of your head.

I am prescribed it, 200 mgs. As far as focus goes it helps a little, but I don't understand how it is used for narcolepsy. I still deal with a unnatural desire to sleep. It works for maybe ten hours but only once in a day. I can't redose and get any effect. I been wondering if I am being given a placebo honestly. It isn't a miracle drug but it's better for me than amphetamines like Adderall.

I have sleep apnea and modafinil eliminated my brainfog (along with getting a cpap machine). Doesn't really give you focus, just energy without the jitters. Kinda like taking a redbull that doesn't crash you. You will get a headache though if you don't eat (You also don't really feel like eating for a while) And it took me a while to get used to it when it was time to wind down for bed. It was almost like too much energy and I couldn't put my body in sleep mode. But I'm over that now.

I've have done kratom alot. 100% don't do it unless it's to get off heroin. I used for work and to keep me awake and alert. But the more I looked into it. And with my own experience I'd say it's a no no. All the heavy metals in it alone should be enough to steer anyone away but the added hair loss and chronic stomach problems and puking is bad and it's addictive. Totally screws up the gut bio ecosystem. I been doing modafinil for a week it's way better. Cleaner then Adderall. Feels the same as adderal at least without some of the euphoria but a bonus of ability to sleep later and you have basicly no fatigue even In hard work scenarios like my job. So modafinil is a win all around to me not kratom tho. Kratom makes the blood vessels around your scalp do something weird and the added itchiness makes you scratch your hair and then boom your hair is thinning like crazy and becomes very brittle an breaks alot. Plus kratom isn't as easy to dose and it's generally going to make you sluggish and tired not alert and aware or think fast like this modafinil. And too much kratom is vomit or passed out nodding off. Yaknow driving your car off the road on accident is something yu can do on kratom. Modafinil makes me feel like I'm pilot of a spaceship with 007 spacial awareness

@@mindful_wander it all depends on the persons mindset. It is not addictive in the same way vyvanse or nicotine is. I think people get so uppity about how good it feels that they keep wanting it everyday, which isnt the best option because you build up tolerance over time and lose the effects. Best way to do it is twice a week and no more than 2 days in between (per week). As long as you stick to that rule of thumb you wont build up tolerance/get addicted. It has a very clean energy to it, especially if you contrast it to opioid pharmeceuticals. Nature is the best medicine!

@@mindful_wander I've tried it now about five times. Low doses (30-55 mg) taken with caffeine (200-300 mg extended release) and L-theanine (300-400 mg) were okay. Nothing great, but nothing negative. I'm not sure the experiences were any better than the same amounts of caffeine and L-theanine alone, without the modafinil. 100 mg modafinil with the same caffeine and L-theanine was not pleasant, especially later in the day. Headaches and feeling out of sorts. 127 mg modafinil, taken alone, resulted in very similar symptoms but much worse. I am now very hesitant to try any higher doses, and probably won't. I might try experimenting with a variety of lower doses (maybe 20 to 60 mg) and stacks, but at this point I suspect that modafinil just isn't for me, and that I should turn elsewhere.
