I tried the 7 day JUMP ROPE challenge! (1000 jumps)

Hey guys! I tried the 7 day jump rope challenge to see what all the hype was about! How many inches did I lose?? Did it work??
I did 1000 jumps but I built up to that by starting with 100 jumps on the first day. It was really really hard, but it was a great workout and it really taught me extra self discipline and helped a lot with my stress levels. It works out every part of your body and is the most intense cardio I have ever done! In this video, I show you how I went from not being able to do one jump, to doing 50 jumps at a time! I also show EVERYTHING I ate during this week and show you how many inches I lost, plus do a quick weigh in.
I didn't actually have a jump rope that counts your jumps, so I had to count it in my head haha. I counted in sets of 50 jumps which made it way easier, otherwise I'd totally lose count! It took me about 17 minutes to complete the full 1000 jumps.
I think it's a great workout, but as discussed in this video, it made me SOOOOO HUNGRY, all day every day. I really struggled with making wise food choices because of that, and as a result, my results weren't as great as they could be but I was still impressed that I lost that many inches while still eating pizza and burgers a couple of times, haha.
Hope you enjoy and can get some motivation! If I can do this with a long term back injury, then plenty of people could do it too! But of course, check with your healthcare provider first. I got the advice of my physiotherapist before I did this and I do exercise regularly.
Also, I didn't realise I did an extra day until I edited this video! Oopsie!! My shift work had me confused haha.

Why do all the bloggers do this? I have noticed that in the before pictures, they have their jogger's waistband way lower showing the complete tummy, whereas in after pictures the waistband is higher, hiding the tummy. So the real results are not actually visible !! :-|
@ByeByeBelly
@ByeByeBelly 3 жыл бұрын
Check out my most viewed Chloe Ting video where I discuss that. People are trying to enhance their results. I try to keep mine the same height abd make sure it's under my belly button etc whereas some people pull it over. My gut was hanging over so far before that they sat a bit lower naturally because to pull them over it, I would have to pull it right up or it would just flow over the waist band. Also measurements show results as well as people's backs and other areas. This isn't meant to be an abs challenge and is 1 week

Regardless of where her leggings sat, you can see the change in her back/bum area... and you can tell she lost weight from her tummy as well, because if she had not, you'd see a bulge in the stomach where the waist band sat... I get was you mean for some other KZbinrs, but this girl was very genuine about her experience and the results still show a massive change.
@dfoxxy
@dfoxxy 3 жыл бұрын
@@jaycollings8060 so you think 7 days of jump rope make her stomach completely flat?. Because their is no bulge. The point the comment mer is making is that they’re doing photo tricks to help make their results look more drastic; so in turn its not completely truthful with these youtubers are showing & tellers the viewers.

I love jumping rope with a passion one thing that I recommend is stretching. Before during and after. Stretching is so important that I can’t stress enough. Taking the time to stretch those muscles that aren’t used to doing that much activity can lead to tears in the muscle tissue. I sadly have a torn upper left calf but it can’t be fixed till it ruptures. anyway besides the point. Doing stretches is a key factor in helping progress your workouts. I’m not sure if you stretched or not cause I didn’t see in the video but great job I’m so proud of you!
@ByeByeBelly
@ByeByeBelly 3 жыл бұрын
Thank you!! Sorry about your calf, that really sucks. I didn't stretch enough at all. I'm stretching a lot more now because my lower back has been quite sore after I finished the challenge. I'm going to do a little bit of jump rope a couple of times a week, but definitely not as much as I did in the challenge!

Weightloss is a journey in itself. Healthy habits and lifestyle can make you loose weight so easily. I took 2 week 1000 jump rope challenge just with a 15 minutes workout you can loose 2 to 3 kgs in a month which is awesome 👌. Instead of just thinking we should be little active and we can loose weight slowly slowly.

I'm asthmatic and skipping too!! I've found that if you take a deep breath out before taking a skoosh of your inhaler, the steroids reach your lungs better when you breathe in with it :)

Haha oh I never used the steroidal ones, that was just a brochodilator and don't need it anymore 😊

My main worry with 'impact' style workouts like this is the possible damage to my joints in the future. 45 now and though as a 'young buck' I was never the biggest person in the gym (far from it) I did make sure I warmed up/stretched properly before and after each work out (so weights)..I also trained in Martial Arts ....thing is, as I've got older, and got lazy, I've found my joints, especially knees sometimes feel stiff. A few years ago I tore my calf muscle - all I was doing was running to catch a train 🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️ And since then my calves have felt stiff and never fully recovered.....I wish I did more swiming as, not only did that help foce me to breath properly (no one wants a lung full of water), but also the water helped take the weight of my joints....and added resistance....ever tried running in a swimming pool?? 🤦‍♂️🤣🤣🤣 Thing is, I've just ordered a skipping rope after watching this and a few other videos....keeping my fingers crossed I can reap the rewards that you have shown...to be fair even a small change would be enough....here comes the burn 😆😊🤞🤞

how did you go? Yeah I have some minor knee issues and tend to get sore a lot at 34... I try to do really small jumps with the jumprope, but when I first started, I was learning and so the jumps were bigger, but you get used to it and then the jumps become a lot smaller. Be careful and seek advice if it causes any issues! I just started off with 50-100 jumps

@@ByeByeBelly Firstly thank you for replying and sorry for the delay…but OMG you are so right about the ‘bigger’ jumps when starting out…my problem isn’t just the height of my jumps but also timing…so I’m skipping but holding the rope to one side so that I build up my timing and also get used to jumping in the right way….also got my self a pair of sketchers running shoes (great deal from a while back) that is lightweight but has great cushioning……keeping my 🤞🤞🤞I can get to your level at some point.

You should eat more protein and fats. They keep you satiated longer. Also, avoid potatoes, they have a high glycemic index. They increase your blood sugar too much vs protein that only gives you a bit of a spike only.

I'm a naturopath and nutritionist so yeah, eating lower carb would help with weight loss but I have chronic fatigue syndrome and autoimmune disease so I'd be non functional and quit workout challenges if I tried to restrict carbohydrates or caliries during a challenge. I do challenges for fitness, nit so much to try and lose a bunch of weight in a short period. Using really intense exercise to lose weight is exhausting especially for people that already have chronic illness, so better to focus on diet when trying to lose weight in my case

I've done this challenge before. I did 100 jumps at a time which took about a minute and I took a minute rest in between sets. So about 20 minutes a day.
