I Tried the Best vs Worst Rated Greek Yogurt

Yiasou! Welcome to my Greek Yogurt party! I would have to say that Greek Yogurt is my #1 food staple and I don't think there is a day that goes by that I don't have some in one form or another.
Generally, I spoon it on my morning oatmeal, but I also use it instead of sour cream at dinner, instead of mayo at lunch, and just by itself as a late afternoon snack. Are all Greek Yogurts the same? Is there a standout? What about the "no name" or store brand varieties? Are you sacrificing taste to save $?
In this video I try 10 different brands of Greek Yogurt and rank them out of 10, and then I put the top 3 head to head while I'm blindfolded! The result surprised me! I hope you enjoy it and thank you very much for watching.

I love both Siggi's and Fage! Some Greek yogurts add thickening agents, which is how they end up cheaper and lower in protein,. Chobani, to me, has a strange aftertaste. Enjoyed the video!

I say, if Will is coming over and eating your food free of charge, he gets no say in if you used the same spoon. ;) If you have Stonyfield up there, I'm telling you - the 100% Grass Fed organic plain is really something. It's super mild and just wonderful. It's expensive as all get out, but IMO, worth it.

@@MamaTenny honestly it's the Supermarket home brand! It's half the cost and tastes really good! Plus it's about 5g sugar per 100g so pretty good. My other favourite isnt technically greek but it's as thick and creamy. It's called YoPRO and only about 3.3g sugar per 100g.

I've been looking forward to this video since you posted it! I'm finally getting a few mins to watch it. 😃 This was so interesting. We have Chobani, Siggi's and Liberte here in Australia but I've only tried Chobani but I don't really like that because it's got that really strong bite/tang to it. It's not like tang as in yoghurt flavour but something that makes my mouth water too much. Like I've bitten into a strong raw lemon. 😄. My favourite here is, surprisingly, the supermarket home brand and one called YoPro. They do a plain Greek Yoghurt. Texture is super important to me too and I've also noticed how watery Chobani is. It's really cheap here too which I think says something (like it's not that good 🤭). Awesome video! So glad I finally got to see this. ❤️

Hi Mama Tennie, Love my yogurt! I usually buy Sam's Club, their Member's Mark. It's less than$4.00 US for the large one. I crave it most every day. Thanks for your input. 💓 They definitely do taste different!

I miss Sam’s Club, I didn’t last here in Canada. I buy the Costco one a lot and the price is right. I’m in the Bahamas now so we get the Fage (also not in 🇨🇦)one. It’s certainly THICK but I don’t know that it’s the tastiest 🤷🏼‍♀️

i love siggis! i currently live in london and there is less variety of greek yogurt, but they have kvarg/quark and more brands of skyr (icelandic yogurt). i highly recommend trying quark if you can!

Nancy - I've tried them all. The lactose free greek Yogurt sold at Loblaws is absolutely unbelievable. The thickest you can find in Canada for sure. Gotta give this one a try.

There's a cow on it. It's 908g. Im like you, Nancy, typically always go for the Oikos or liberté. Depending on what's on sale but if you ever go to Loblaws (or any groceries who got some presidents choice product) gotta try the 0% lactose free Greek yogurt. Thank me later

Good to know. I live in the states and either get Oikos or Chobani depending on what I can find and the flavor I'm going for. I usually get Chobani plain when I'm baking with it.

I did the same test, Oikos vs Siggi's, because that was the only two I had in the fridge. I personally hate Siggi's. It was exactly as you said, some people find it chalky. Contorted my face. But I much prefer 11% no sugar added plain Oikos. Inflation is keeping me with Astro which is good too, but too soupy.

Milk gives me a gut ache. But, because of that insanity about three years back, I learned to make my own yogurt, and grow my own carrots. Now, store bought Greek yogurt is a treat, more than a staple. Thank you for reviewing all the Greek yogurt! Unless you’re reading the label, and the ingredients, you’re very likely getting additional ingredients, sometimes gelatine, gaur gum, even “food starch”… all in a food which is naturally coagulated, and they already sell the whey for a profit to make protein powder. It’s always interesting to see what brands are available elsewhere!

Funny story, now that it's over with = So I was watching this video, and at the seven minute mark, a huge, brown spider climbed up on top of the blanket I had on my lap. I threw the blanket up real high and darted out of the living room lol! Then I came back, found the little darling, and took care of the situation. Afterwards, I clicked the play button, to finish watching Mama T's latest video. 😨😅 I just started using Greek yogurt a couple weeks ago, thanks to Will's protein ice cream videos. The brand I have right now is Chobani, which honestly tastes kind of like cottage cheese, on its own. But, I blend it in with frozen fruit and milk...delish!! Maybe I will pick up some Siggi's, if I can find it.

Most folks that think they are lactose intolerant are actually whey intolerant. I am whey intolerant but was always told it might be lactose. Which didn't make sense since I could consume most dairy.
