I have found that at least 70 percent meat daily, and the rest as eggs, cheese, yogurt is my best diet. As for plant material, I avoid all leaves, stems, roots and seeds. Local fruit in season seems to have no bad effects.

Yea I was surprised by how many vegetables are fruit and I noticed that I do tolerate those “vegetables” better. I’m actually very sensitive to a lot of leaves, stems, seeds and flowers (kale, spinach, celery, peppermint, cauliflower, coffee, cacao/chocolate, soy) I’m also sensitive to beef, bison and cow milk though 🤷‍♀️ so this diet would’ve been bad for me if I did not now my sensitivities. I just do other red meats like lamb and pork and chicken and seafood and raw goat and sheep dairy, eggs, white rice, sweet potatoes and carrots and tons of squashes and fruit. I actually didn’t realize I was doing this diet. It was formed as I ate Whole Foods and avoided my sensitivities. They are very few regular vegetables I eat that I enjoy like onions and garlic and ginger but I realize I Dnt even like most of the other vegetables I’m not sensitive to, it’s for “health reasons” I eat them like romaine lettuce, broccoli and asparagus. I’m starting to eat them less and less. I mean they Dnt taste good lol and I just discovered the tons of types of winter squash that do taste good 😅

Hi Marcus, some good points in this video, but some common misconceptions I’d be interested to hear your thoughts on if you could reply. - Fibre is not required for bowel movements to be regular. It simply adds to the mass of your stool due to the fact that it is indigestible. Fat actually keeps stool soft allowing it to pass easily, so on a low plant diet fat is much more important than fibre for toilet time - You mentioned a required amount of carbohydrates for your training, and that it was difficult to obtain from fruit alone - how you determine that this amount is required and that you can’t just use fat oxidation for energy for training?
@marcusfilly
@marcusfilly Жыл бұрын
Good questions. In my experience with the fiber, I was still able to have normal bowel movements even with less vegetables and overall fiber. For my current goals, I'm not attempting to lose body fat, so I've determined that I need to eat about 400g carbs to maintain and even slowly add muscle to my frame. I'm less interested in using fat oxidation because my goals don't align with cutting body fat. Hope this helps!
@insurrectionist5099
@insurrectionist5099 Жыл бұрын
@@marcusfilly thanks for your reply Marcus. I think perhaps I could have worded better though. What I meant is that the level of carbohydrate required for working out is determined by your metabolic state - ie if you are not fat adapted then you will need to eat carbs to get good workouts of course. However research shows that on a ketogenic diet, when fat adapted, muscle glycogen levels are the same before and after exercise, as well as after a post workout meal. Not only this but also peak force production, blood glucose stability, and inflammation levels are all better in a fat adapted state (particularly when eliminating plant foods). By this logic the only reason you would “need” carbs is because your metabolic state creates a dependency on them, and if you allow your body time to adjust to fat metabolism then you will likely see better results in performance and health. Either way credit to you for learning and experimenting, and keep on training hard brother!
@dompers2073
@dompers2073 Жыл бұрын
@@insurrectionist5099this is simply not backed by scientific data. Putting your body on a state of kerosine is great for bodybuilders during a cutting phase, since ketone bodies help prevent muscle catabolism from gluconeogenesis. However, even with adequate protein and fat intake, without glycogen stores in your muscles, you simply won’t have the ability to push your muscles to the point necessary to force muscle hypertrophic. Leto sis can help you maintain adequate muscle mass while cutting body fat %, but in the long term it is simply not an effective diet for someone looking to add muscle into their body.

@@cholkymilkmirage4984 I eat bison, bison liver 1oz per day, ground bison, ground beef, bison tenderloin, beef, tenderloin, filet mignon, ribeye, and pork liver and bison heart mix-and-match during the week with eggs. I am feeling fatigued though but that’s maybe? because I went cold turkey and stopped all sugar. Maybe it’s keto flu. I feel tired and weak since cutting out all fruit but when I add fruit or even coconut water, I just feel like I gain weight and bloat but coconut water should be really good for you and it’s got high potassium but it sure has a lot of sugar and that spikes my insulin, which is why I think I feel bad every time I drink it.

I prefer the fat fuel. I have nothing but horrible reactions to eating any kind of carbs. Fruit, grains, doesn't matter. They make me lethargic and flare up inflammation in my arms so i can't workout without pain. I eat a lot of butter and animal fats. Butter in my coffee and with my steaks even if it's a fatty cut of meat. Lots of eggs. Best my gut and body have ever felt in my life.

When u just up the fat content drastically u don’t need the stupid carbs… at least for a long while… It took me about a month to really adapt to this life style, but it doesn’t work when u eat lean meat n so much fruit… u r not switching to ketones… It doesn’t really work like that well… ❤

I don’t have a diet right now but I want to get healthier and I’m looking for a diet to have and I love the taste of meat but I don’t know which is good or what fruit to eat with it and is their any risks for teenagers doing this
@marcusfilly
@marcusfilly Жыл бұрын
The popular meat and fruit diet promotes red meats like beef, lamb and bison, but you could also expand it out to other meats. No specific risks for teenagers, but I would recommend trying this for a set period of time (like 4-8 weeks), and paying close attention to how your body responds.

I would definitely be careful eating fruit and too much red meat (saturated fat). It's one thing if you only eat meat and are in ketosis. Thought consuming too much saturated fat and glucose can cause a huge increase in LDL or bad cholesterol. This can causes heart attacks and strokes. Always do research on a diet and make sure you follow it to a "T" especially keto and carnivore diet. The diets are good, when done correctly.
