So I’m always in the dietetics world and lemon water isn’t necessary. It’s not uncommon for “nutritionists” to recommend this and it creates confusion when people write articles like this. Unless you struggle to get your vitamin C ( which most people aren’t) it’s not necessary and not the best for your teeth either. If it helps you drink more water and you enjoy the taste then go for it. But it won’t “boost your metabolism” or help you lose weight, detoxify etc.
@ruminationstation42002 жыл бұрын
I think it's mostly about stomach acidity, it can't be a coincidence people are constantly recommending apple cider vinegar and lemon water to start the day. Plus, people recommending lemon water ABSOLUTELY overlaps with people who won't take OTC meds for issues like mild digestion issues (which they probably have from constantly going on crash diets) I think a big part of it is the psychological component of a ritualized behavior. I've noticed it a lot with people who fast and go on ultra restrictive diets, they all seem to have a largely symbolic symbolic behavior built into them. My mom has mild OCD and a long history of ED, and she's super drawn to these specifically *unpleasant* experiences, in a "the burn means you know it's working", kind of way. It's like asceticism but with food.

Thats a very poor oversimplification of things. You should give your body more credit, it is more complex than just “calories in calories out”. @getleanerwithneener Health to me means prioritizing FEELING my best over LOOKING what I consider to be “my best”. Have struggled a lot in the past with fixating on being a skinnier and smaller version of myself, but with help from you I’ve fallen in love with weight training and properly fueling my body! Health to me is about treating myself with love, and reaping the benefits (: love your videos Will!

@vegetarianjerry / health means being comfortable in my skin whether its fueling my body with nutritious foods, moving, and pushing myself in order to grow as a person (mentally and physically🧠💪). Been watching you for 2 years now, vids and jokes get better every time

Dude, if you don't like stretching, perhaps you should do a week of yoga and see if you like that! 😀

@kcacker Health to me means not just physical fitness/well-being, but also (if not more importantly) being in a good place mentally, not comparing myself to others but treating yourself as you would someone you love, wanting to grow but also not being way too strict/hard on myself

Curious how this changes if you work evenings. I work 12pm - 10pm 5 days a week. I wonder what the optimal day is for me

@arjhanabeauty Hi Will. New subbie here! Thank you for the amazing content. I’m a sucker for dry-witty humor 😆 Health and Fitness to me is enjoying long bike rides with my daughters. It’s feeling my best, not only physically, but mentally and emotionally. It’s having energy throughout the day. It’s not feeling like I’ve been hit by a train when I’m running to not miss my flight. It’s being a kid again! Full of stamina, agility, flexibility, and an endless supply of energy!

I love oatmeal! One cup of oatmeal, half a cup of frozen blueberries and 1 scoop of vanilla ice cream whey protein and top it off with light whip cream and ground cinnamon. Love it!

Didn’t know there was such a disconnect between these two communities. I have been focused into both worlds the whole time. I care about macros AND micros. I primarily eat only healthy food, and have little to no “junk food,” but i’m also very concerned about getting the correct intake of protein, fat, and carbs. I don’t eat unhealthy fats whatsoever, and I prefer complex carbs.

Having lost lower back mobility due to disc issues and having knee surgery, health means much more than it used to a few years ago. That being said I could definitely use some collagen for my joints!
