I've learned that I am a mood reader. Strict reading goals such as reading x amount of pages a day just doesn't work for me. It almost makes reading burdensome and that to me kills the joy out of reading. "La Sombra del Viento" sounds intriguing. I'm adding it to my TBR. Basmo looks like a cool app. Might give it a try. ☎️

I’ve also struggled with trying to set daily reading goals for myself. It always makes me feel pressured which makes reading not very fun! I’ve been trying to incorporate Bookly and the Forest App to keep up my productivity though.

OMG so glad you are reading Words of Radiance I finished it in four sittings! Honestly, I loved it more than Way of Kings lol and that was my first Brandy Sandy book bc I'm chaotic. I get what you mean about it feeling so slow at the start. I feel like the book feels that way because the last few hundred pages of WoK were a lot of stuff happening and Words of Radiance dealing with the fallout of that stuff that happened (trying to not give anything away lol). I absolutely LOVE Shallan shes such a good character and her back story is supper layered and once I got that all of her actions made so much more sense. But she is completely different from Kaladin and Dalinar in how she copes so it. Also funny story I also picked up Stormlight bc of Henry Cavill lmao

This was so great!! I feel the way about the shadow of the wind, the writing is gorgeous but I am trying to stay patient and enjoy the story. I don't do much for reading, just when I'm not working, in class, doing homework etc. Basmo seems cool but probably more than I would use for now.

Loved it! I definitely don't organize myself by page count either, but I have a spreadsheet where I break down the month by week and I start to plug in my monthly TBR into each week (I also add if it's my free weekend vs. munchkins weekend) so that I can see which week I can add more books to vs maybe realistically knowing ahead of time that a certain week will be busier than the others. I started doing this in June this year, and it has really helped make a SUPER extensive TBR less daunting and has helped me accomplish smaller weekly goals and see the progress made at the end of the month!

I like hearing from other peoples reading preferences because I find myself reading more when I set page goals. The thing with those goals is to always set it under what you know you can read so you don’t overwhelm yourself. My daily reading goal is 50 pages, but I always end up reading 70-100 pages. I think setting smaller goals to make it to the big goal can really make a difference.
