A few tips for Shotcut: - You can do your cuts even faster with Shotcut using ripple trim. Instead of pressing s again then highlighting the clip and pressing x you go there where you want to cut then press shift+ i or o. If you press shift+i it does the pressing s, highlighting the clip and pressing x all in one step but on the left side. If you press shift+o it does the same thing but on the right side. - You can also make the text its own clip. Go to the top where it says open other and choose text from that list. That will give you a transparent clip with the text filter already on it so you can add it on a layer on top of your main clips and place the text wherever you want. - If you want to normalize the audio on a whole track then select the head of the track all the way to the left then add the normalize filter in the audio category and it will do all the clips on that one track.

One thing I like about flowblade is how fast the scrubbing process is, for cutting down the video. I normally use kdenlive or davinci resolve. but really like trying out other free programs to compare and find what works best for me. thanks for sharing this video.

your video is great man, really enjoyable to listen to and watch you compare how you do something on the 2 different video editors. Flowblade's biggest strength in my opinion is the multitool for working on the timeline. with the multitool you can do slip & slide & ripple editing.

Hey Jack, Long time no watch. Sorry. My computer went nuts when I installed Premiere Pro Cloud. Lost everything. My Asus gaming laptop is no more. Had to buy all new parts, build new desktop. Time to play catch up. Good to find you are using this to. I installed as soon as I installed Manjaro. But was not same as shotcut, etc. So looked it up on KZbin and you popped up at the top of the list. Awesome for you, Jack. Was happy to see that... Thanks for the Video, my friend.

Hi Gary, great to hear from you again! Sorry to hear about your gaming laptop, ouch. In my experience, I somehow usually end up better off after disasters like that. I hope that was the case for you too. That's pretty cool about you stumbling across my Flowblade video, ha! Glad it helped - Have a great weekend Gary!!!

2.10 now has a feature that allows you to save effects stack settings as xml files, which is awesome as it allows those to be swapped between systems, something I don't recall Vegas or Premiere being able to do.

In Flowblade, the crackling during transitions or fades occur depending on how you rendered them. I see in the video you had Lossless selected. Change that to MP4 in the drop down and try again. If not, try a different one in the list, but one of them will work so you don’t have to mute the audio. It should work regardless but hard to complain when it’s free to use.

Thanks MachineDJP for that fantastic info - that worked beautifully! As you pointed out, I did have lossless mp4, so I tried WebM instead and it was flawless! 👍👍

Good program, especially the stability and design is nice. However it seems to be a bit unintuitive and static. Personally I don't like you have to separately adding a transition or text and you can't edit them afterwards. Also some other things are a bit strange, what is really a pity because I would like to like this video editor :)

Hi Jack! coud i change audio of my current video with my voice over mic with flowblade?
@jackkeifer
@jackkeifer 3 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the comment. I could be wrong, but I don't think you can do voice overs in Flowblade. You can however modify the audio of an existing video within Fowblade. 👍

Jack, can this utilize all core? Like parallel processing in shotcut? Thats one reaso I prefer shotcut over kdenlive. kdenlive does not support multicore but shotcut can

Hi Ja-KooLit, I don't know for sure. It batch renders in a separate process, and has a multi-threading option, but regarding multi-core handling, I have never found any solid info on it. That could suggest that it doesn't, otherwise you would think they would play up that point a bit. :P However, for me - rendering the timeline is very fast. I think Shotcut is absolutely top notch, but I do find myself jumping back into Flowblade more and more often. I really like flowblade's auto-remove space feature when either deleting a section, or sliding back an edge of a clip. It's kinda got me spoiled now. 😛
