@@gundog9775 if you have muddy / murky water there are 4 colors that are your friend. Black, blue, white, and chartreuse. What he has is a black and blue jig with a black and blue craw. If your new to jigs I’d recommend getting a pitching jig, something like the 6th sense hybrid jig is perfect for a beginner.

Black and blue Strike King jigs with Zoom trailers have always been go to lures for me. They work in any conditions and they are a big bass bait. I've caught more 8+ pound bass on a jig than any other lure. All my 10+ pound fish have been on a Strike King black and bluejig rig. I don't know whether people still do this or not but I also like to fish rattles with my jig rigs. There is nothing better than a jig rig.

They’re up shallow feeding. A lot of times in ponds bass spawn over a long period of time due to limited space. So they may have been up Feeding waiting to spawn or they recently spawned and are up feeding and restoring energy
