What I do is use 3 clear cups. 1 for the A part and 1 for the B part. On the outside of the 3rd cup I have made lines using a sharpie, I use this cup to measure by sight. How I do this is I take the part A cup and stack it inside the measuring cup and pour until it reaches my fill line. Then I take the part A cup out of the measuring cup and put the part B cup in and repeat the process. I didn't invent this method I picked it up somewhere and can't remember where.

Crafsman! I have the same problem with an old zoom lens of mine. Try putting one of those wide celery rubber bands around the lens on the seam between the focus ring and the static lens body. This added enough friction to stop my lens from dropping, but not so much that it was hard to zoom. Worked like a charm for me. Hope it works for you!
