In this follow-up video, I talk about the side effects that have carried over since I stopped taking Olanzapine - almost two years ago. I also share details about the complaint I filed against my former consultant psychiatrist, and explain why it's still unresolved. Plus, I discuss the off-label use of Olanzapine, something I believe should be prohibited. And, I discuss a few more things in between...

As you said, Olanzapine should only be used by people who have bipolar disorder and/or schizophrenia. It is an extremely potent sedative. I was prescribed this drug off-label for anxiety and insomnia. I am not exaggerating when I say it has made my life a living hell. It has affected my overall health on so many fronts and has brought me to me knees. I've tried stopping it on many occasions but as you know it is extremely hard to do and have not been successful yet. For some reason doctors don't seem to understand how difficult discontinuation of this drug is. I'm left to my own devices so I will keep trying. Thank you for sharing your experience as this information needs to be out there and people need to be warned of the dangers of Zyprexa.

It's disheartening that, like myself, you were prescribed it off-label - a concerning trend we can hopefully quash together within our community. I have been on it since 1998 was on 10mg until 2017...I began my own tapering...I am now on 1.25mg...i am in hell and being tortured from no sleep...I am experiencing all the symptoms you mentioned... I was homeless at the time... psych said even though I don't have schizophrenia....he thought I would do well on it...I thought he was there to help....it is abuse of power of those who are not educated.... thankyou

My cholesterol is high and now im on crestor. Also my prolactin levels are elevated which olanzapine can cause. Olanzapine can cause sleep apnea. Also i get very bad brain fog in the morning. Im prescribed it for shizoaffective disorder depressive type. I know i need a antipsychotic but i want to be on a different one. I know someone that is on it for sleep. Also i get heavily sedated from it

I'm on a statin as well for cholesterol. Olanzapine causes dyslipidemia as a significant adverse effect, characterized by an increase in total blood cholesterol and triglyceride levels (Lieberman et al., 2005).

I occasionally was prescribed this thing. I don't live for 3 years . I'm ruined. I lost my job , friends. I don't have a family or relatives. I don't know what to do.

It's awesome you managed to get off Zyprexa, it's not easy!. Can you share how you tapered? I'm considering trying a fast taper/kind of cold turkey just because I'm so tired of being on it. I have been on it for about a year. Thanks

Sorry..weight gain should be the least of your concerns...I don't understand why you keep fretting on weight gain. The biggest issue is these are neurotoxins and how it damage your brain very easily and quickly. Weight gain can always be lost, but brain damage is tough..no offence. I'm also badly brain injured by these poison . I don't mind putting on 50 pounds if my brain is left unscathed. Many are harmed by these AP after short and low dosage of 2 weeks to months.., brain impairment, akathisa, EPD and more. What is weight gain compared to brain damaged ?

Hi, while I have mentioned weight gain a couple of times, it isn't my main focus. I have discussed other adverse side effects in my videos, including how the drug affects neurotransmitters and receptors. I'm sorry to hear about your negative experience with Olanzapine.
