Saw a video from someone else recently - apparently at the start of an ad-cycle they'll release ads of a few different flavour of the month games, wait and see which ad does well, and then introduce that as a barely-there minigame into their game (likely to avoid getting smacked for false advertising; they can point to the minigame and be like "see, it's real gameplay").

Around 7:00 you talk about using frustration in the ads like the failing. This is basically been the same in those call in quiz shows that used to exist in my country. Often using fake instudio calls, which would get a super obvious question or task wrong so that you call, obviously they put you on hold, which alone gave them money. Same idea behind it though, using the frustration "how can that last caller be so stupid, the answer is so obvious".

You folks are making feel old even through I'm only 34 being I was born in 1989 and grew up in the era before their was gaming on a phone was a thing. My childhood consisted of playing the Atari 2600 and Super Nintendo with my mobile gaming being playing Pokemon Blue on my Gameboy Color. When I was a kid, the cellphones we had could only make calls and some of them were thick enough where you could knock some out if you needed too. Ah the good ole days where the cellphones could be used as a damn self defense weapon. Gotta love it. I'm also not trying to make me seam better then you younger folks as we did grow up in different time periods. I was just informing folks about how it was when I was a child. I wasn't trying to be a boomer which I'm definitely not. I do make a suggestion for a game that your younger sister might enjoy which is safe and be played on mobile and a computer. The game I'm talking about is Runescape which is a MMO that I believe was first created in 2001 with Runescape Classic. Though I just learned that the game that would eventually become Runescape was actually created in 1998 as a game called DeviousMUD which could be considered the prototype for Runescape. Their are actually right two versions of Runescape which would be Old School Runescape and Runescape 3 which is the modern version. Old School Runescape happens to be game I used to play on the old Windows XP back in the day! I did forget to mention that Runescape is free to play with a paid membership option but you can enjoy most of the content without have to pay anything especially with the Old School Runescape.
