Yep. He shouldn't have listened to his wife! I think the creature did a trick, in the water the body was Ruth and the one of the raft was the creature. It came home with them. Or it followed them because he didn't memorize the rules and he saw the reflection but didn't follow the rules immediately.

As soon as the lifeguard had Ruth in his boat after she was nowhere in sight, I had a feeling that whatever ended up in the boat wasn’t her. It sucks, because he did everything right. His daughter accidentally called for help once, and that seemed to seal their fate. It’s not like he scoffed at the rules and got humbled. And Ruth did literally nothing wrong. You can’t even blame Olivia for calling for help, since she was just a kid. Really, if such a place existed, it would be immoral to charge tourists to vacation there. At the very least, they should make a rule that all boating is prohibited. Which leads me to believe they count on some people being taken, they just keep it to a minimum so they don’t get shut down.
@Domriso3 ай бұрын
That's what I was thinking. Maybe if the lake goes to long without claiming someone it starts to spread, or its reach extends, or something worse happens. Something that makes the locals feel justified in letting the occasional tourist get taken.
@mary-janereallynotsarah6843 ай бұрын
I also thought it wasn't Ruth. But he wasn't blameless. He should have told Ruth they were leaving and carried the kids to the car. He saw the reflection in the water and didn't follow the rules. Layer in the optical illusion, Olivia broke another rule. Not sure if one or all of those contributed but they did break multiple rules.

Have you listened to Bedtime and Wartime stories?? They are freaking awesome. And Dark Somnium is my favorite narrator! He has a team of people he narrates with, he does his own sound effects and composes his own music, and he's had some of the most popular authors write stories for his channel. He is PHENOMENAL. "Have you heard the lost city Korona" is my fave. "I found an entrance to the backrooms" is next, and finally "I'm alone on a secret space station and something is trying to get in". For some reason, Lighthouse always changes the titles of the stories and half the time they're wrong, it's really obnoxious. Like this one, they aren't in a haunted cabin, it's a haunted "lake".
