Did you spot any classic Russian cars or buses in this video, let me know in the comments which model you noticed. I love attending these events, but I really am not the best when it comes to cars or the different types of transport we were looking at. If you want to join me over on Telegram, I post lots of things about my daily life in Russia: t.me/travellingwithrussell

I watched a couple of videos of how some of these buses were restored. All the way from a rusty frame to fully working pristine condition. I salute to just how much knowledge determination and perseverance these people have to pull this huge task off.

Yeah, exactly, and the rusty bus is the example how the other 2 standing nearby looked like before they were completely restored!

Vorobyovy Gory is named after the village of Vorobyov, it was the possession of the Vorobyov boyars. The mountains are named not after the bird, but after the surname and the village. In turn, the surname just comes from a sparrow.

I remember when almost ALL cars were massive in North America. The gas shortage of the 70s, then the resulting high gas prices sort of put an end to that. My father had one of the last large Cadillacs. A diesel powered fleetwood from the 1980s. My friend's father had a jeep Cherokee and it was massive too, compared to Cherokees of today. Of course smaller sedans of the 80s have been largely replaced by SUVs, and the small pick ups of the 80s have been replaced with massive pick ups of today.
@juliap.5375
@juliap.5375 Ай бұрын
Exactly at that time, looks like regards to this shortage, somebody in US invented brilliant idea that oil must be sold for dollars and somehow signed this agreement with Saudi Arabia. They wanted to fight against fuel shortage, but suddenly invented so-called petrodollar. Whole world need oil, but it was sold only for dollars, so whole world ran to US to get some dollars. Dollar became main international currency, while US became regards to this richest country. Incredible how nowadays they itself destroyed this system when decide to steal Russian money. Using this case year ago Russia persuaded Saudi Arabia to abandon trade in dollars and that old agreement from 1970s was officially cancelled. Instead ob base of BRICS was launched trading of oil in dozens currencies. Age of petrodollar suddenly end.
