Hey man. I did the exact same thing coming from the exact same DAWs. Once I committed to it I changed the key commands to my workflow and note I’m much faster in Cubase than in any other DAW.

It's easy to get a great Cubase workflow with keyboard shortcuts, or using it with a controller (I use a Stream Deck XL, because I'm lazy remembering everything). All in all I couldn't care less about other DAWs.
Totally agree, Studio one workflow is great but for electronic music I found Bitwig as most promising DAW for what I do. I'm not classical composer and I don't need to record band.

erm... former hardcore S1 user hiere. Now back on Cubase 12. And very happy, I mus say. Cubase´s mixer ist much better. C looks better and it´s easier to navigate when you have millions of tracks. Cubase Midi is the best on the market. Cubase onstock FX and VSTis are way better same goes for the boring sample content in S1. I love integrated Vari Audio and auto aligment in Cubase, cant´s live without control room and it´s flexible mix console. Render Options are also much better. Samplertrack ist so great!! And on the film composers side Cubase is the best daw. trust me.

Love Ableton and Studio One. Recommend both. If I had to choose one it would be studio one. That doesn't mean I don't have a laundry list of complaints about studio one.

I don't know about anyone else but I would like to have seen some examples. A/B scenarios

In the field known as User Experience, you analyze the amount of clicks in order to reduce the effort of the user. You want to allow the user to achieve their objective as easily as possible. Cubase definitely falls short in this way. The processes you have to follow in order to achieve many goals is either tedious or just flat out confusing.

JW, I'm typing as I listen ... Cubase is brilliant with MIDI mapping! The "3 clicks" syndrome becomes a thing of the past ; ask my Behringer X-Touch Mini and the F buttons on my QCon Pro G2!

Cubase can be fast on terms of workflow with the Macros, and Shortcuts. But you have to set that up. The Logical Editor is a beast. But that workflow is almost Reaper type of workflow 😂. So yeah in my case I’m still waiting on improvement on the workflow.

To be honest Cubase is meant for big studios mostly people who record live elements its a bit slow for hip hop and eletronic music but one thing about it if you want serious production like something unique Cubase is the way for fast cheesy music Abletone

I've been using Studio One for a couple of years, and compare to some others (notably Cubase), I find it to be pretty intuitive.

"3 clicks in Cubase for 1 in other DAWs"? Show some examples! I've watched several of your videos, but can't find a single one. It looks like unsubstansiated rants to me. Or maybe SBW. Want to have single click access in Cubase? Cubase is the best DAW out there, when it comes to userdefinable keyboard shortcuts. You can access any feature in Cubase via Keyboard shortcuts. Many times more than there are possible combinations on your keyboard. 1) Set up keyboard shortcuta for any feature you want access to (that doesn.t already have one). 2) Get your self a StreamDeck. Now you have single-click (or should I say single-button) access to any parameter! It will also speed up your workflow, considerably. When you speak about unique features in Cubase Pro 12, you're missing one important one. Cubase Pro 12 has Dolby Atmos mixing built in! I can only think of one other DAW that can match this. No need to buy expensinve add-on software from Dolby.

Cubase awesome? I had Cubase Pro since Cubase 5 and i'm sick of it. Steinbergs plugin policy made me quit the game and i switched to logic pro with fl studi in re-wire.

Yeah, it’s kind of hard for me to let go of Logic. Even with cubase 13 out now. I still like my Logic Work flow.

I've come to the same conclusion. I've listed cubase 12 pro for sale on KVR. I been messing with Ableton light and wanna get 11 suite, but its damn expensive. I've failed with Studio one 5 (wich I also own), and now cubase 12. I think I should've went with Ableton originaly since I come from Scene based workflows (mpc and Maschine). At the time I figured it would be redundant using the Ableton workflow...but i think thats where im gonna land. Reaper has been my favorite, but its not not there yet when it comes to midi production.
@MaximusWhyman Жыл бұрын
I go back and forth between S1 and Ableton the most. I own almost all the major daws and although Bitwig/Reaper/Cubase/Fl Studio/Logic have their strengths, the simplicity of finishing ideas are easier for me in the former.
@TheHansen01 Жыл бұрын
It's funny that you and I are the exact opposite. I started with Ableton Live 11 Suite but landed on Cubase. Now I've got my Live 11 Suite license up for sale (hit me up if you're looking for a discounted license!). I understand why Ableton is great, and if I was only interested in EDM I'd stay with it. But as you branch out into other styles of music, Ableton's shortcomings become more apparent IMO. There's a reason why there are far more EDM producers using Cubase than there are media composers using Ableton.

@@TheHansen01 Recording multiple streams of audio and mixing a real band is not Ableton’s strength, that’s for sure. I started my career playing Metal and Rock, but in recent years been into sound design and experimenting with different instruments and sounds. Ableton is great for that.

Bro most of Keyboards players like Yamaha and Korg arrangers from the middle east countries like Syria, Iraq, Turkey plus Balkan countries to Iran.. most of them record their keyboards sounds in cubase them manipulate it! With cheap computers no fancy equipments and they still producing hits inspite of most of them dropped out of even middle school! Some producers in poor countires around the world still stuck in Cubase v5 or older and they still making hits in their nations! Lol I’m still don’t get it lol

I got cubase 13 and it is the worst . You have to buy their interface for it to work despite what anyone says until i bought their brand interface. I couldnt use it the way I wanted to. mostly catteres to sample biters and non musicians with lots of shiny and colorful things to play with. All that extra stuff it has is totally unnecessary . I hate it so much and found heaven in audacity.
