This is why i7 and i9 CPUs consume so much more power in gaming compared to i5. They boost higher which requires more voltage, even though the performance gain is minimal. And even if you cap your framerate, the CPU will still boost as high as it can, effectively wasting power. I'd like to see a comparison between this i3 and a 6-core (or even 8-core) Zen 2 chip for example. I expect the i3 to win in every game, the IPC difference should be big enough.

How about paradox games which focus on single core? Will i3 have much better performance?

How long can such CPU / pc doing its thing, before its getting slower? Probably 3 years?
@SoB_6268 ай бұрын
The CPU isn't getting slower, but the software/games might become more demanding.

I've never been a fan of jumping on the 'download moAr RAM' bandwagon, but any reason for sticking with 16GB instead of 32GB, when you've made a point of minimising GPU bottleneck (with a 4070S) when testing CPU's? From a budget perspective, RAM is (or was) pretty cheap, and from a bottleneck perspective, lots of games now will use 16GB+ if you allow them to (by having 32 available and monitoring usage on afterburner). Cheers and loving the stuff as always - Mark

Can you do a video comparison between i3-12100 versus i3-14100?

This video has made me decided to buy the i5 12400f

can you do 10105f and 12100f comparison? i know former is very old but that's what i got last year as i had really tight budget and it was on sale i am quite satisfied with it's performance but my 1050 ti really holds it back so i wanna see it's full potential

I now have an i3 12100f and a 4070 super..will if I upgrade to an i5 12400f that be enough? for gaming

12400 hands down. Especially If you can pick it up on the used market you can get it for around $130, more cores and more threads never hurt anyone. I was able to hit 165 FPS on fortnite at 1440p with the 12400. Not a shabby CPU at all. Hey, Y do my comments constantly get removed on this channel? I'll go back to edit a comment and it will be removed and not be able to post. Weird.

In a similar video please can you compare the 12600k and the 13400, both have 6p and 4e but they have different clock speeds. I would like to see how such similar chips compare in game.
@jonpeley9 ай бұрын
A 6 core CPU seems like a more reasonable buy, especially if the price tag is similar. 4 cores are better only for doing basic tasks.
@atretador24528 ай бұрын
well, it is just the 12100 but with higher clocks so its expected to lose to the 12400, its also why it consumes more power than it as it has to push those clocks higher.
@lolmao5008 ай бұрын
Around here they only sell the 12700F, I think its a better choice than the 5700X3D for about the same price but the amd chip uses way less power.

12100f vs 12400 video please i am using a 12100 in my need to know if upgrading to i5 12400f is worth it.
@bills60938 ай бұрын
No. Not enough of a performance lift, imo. Plus, a 13400f gives you 10 cores instead of 6. A 12500 with 12 cores would also be a good jump.

With that GPU would have liked to see some 1440p gaming. Utilize the card more and see how well the cpu's are to keep up
