Did she start off okay as a vampire? No. She murdered someone and cried her eyes out in agony. Then she made Matt break up with her after almost killing him. She didn't start off a good vampire. She had to learn. Elena wanted to die! To save Matt.

@@Sims4T and tbh they should have taken more time to show her learning because that lasted like one/two episodes at most elena is the main character so of course, they are going to fixate on it in my opinion, caroline not having many problems is bad because realistic characters have flaws they gave her flaws and then from then on out forgot about them and she became a mary sue vampire which i didn't really like only later on did they flesh her out more and give her flaws as she had before but it was almost too late and they had to explain it a way with 'she's a control freak' so yeah, though i love caroline i don't understand the way elena was written hate versus the way caroline was written

If it wasn't for Damon she'd always view being a vampire badly. Shes also watched bring a vampire ruin her loved ones lives. Caroline's dad tried to train her not to want blood by torturing her all day. Her mother treated her like a monster. Damon was tortured for 5 years having his eyes and organs cut out so they would have to grow back. Stefan murdered an entire village of innocent people. Oh and then Elena's brother was killed by Katherine, a vampire. There are a lot of down sides to being a vampire. No children, no normal live. And everyone is trying to kill you and your loved ones

It's not that easy to quit, and beeing a alcoholic don't usually makes you stand out as supposed to being a ripper and leaving a trail of bodies behind, and second, yea you could do the millionair thing, but you have to be very low key, or then you have to relocate every couple of decades to not raise eyebrows about your age, plus all the loneliness and sure you could have a buddy or buddies vampires, but then you run the risk of increasing the problems I mentioned before. While it's unfair to compare since alcohol is a luxury for humans whereas blood is essential for Vampires, let's assume the basic premise; We know that if you sate your blood cravings without trying to put it off completely, you will have it under control, just as someone who only has one beer a day won't be hungover every other morning. By assuming that all Vampires have the same addiction level as alcoholics, you're making an unfair assumption as they do not have the same levels of addiction. Yes, blood is more addictive to Vampires, and it's easier to be a Vampire Ripper than a Human Alcoholic, but it nevertheless remains the case that if you can control it, you will be fine. So I stand by my initial premise and say it wouldn't be that bad if you can control it. In regards to money, obviously, that comes with it's own issues but really, if you can compel someone - or multiple people - into being your Sugar Daddies without the normal charge, why wouldn't you? If they're seen to give you the money freely, what would be the harm there? What eyebrows would that raise, so long as you weren't overt and stealing ALL of Elon Musk's money and then suddenly having all the board members of Apple in your pocket too? In that case yeah, but like with blood, if you can manage yourself well, you'll be fine. Well, I'm lonely now so it's not like I'd be missing anything so not a problem for me. :D I mean yeah, heightened emotions and all that but still worth it lol. And thanks for the compliment. x

This is why I was on Stefan's side when he chose to save Matt instead on Elena. Elena asked him to rather save Matt. For Elena, she was saved instead of her parents and this was a huge heartbreak for her. She would have never been able to live with herself if Matt died on her behalf again. At that moment, Stefan honored her decision to save someone she loved rather than making a decision for himself, which would have been to save Elena. I think that it was a selfless act. For me personally, I would want my partner to make that decision.

Stefan murdered a village of men, women, and children while his humanity was on because he couldn't fight the bloodlust. He almost murdered countless people, and did murder hundreds. Every emotion is heightened. Imagine depression on steroids. It's like everyone forgot how fucked up Caroline was after she killed that guy. How much she cried. How angry she was and how annoying she was when she first turned. Everyone just loves hating Elena for no reason. She's not perfect, she has flaws, she makes mistakes like everyone else in the show. Shes braver than most people and would die for friends and family. But they won't let her die. She never wanted to be dead. She wanted kids, to grow old and die. She had no choice. Like Stefan. And Caroline. Being a vampire is hell. Everyone you love will die around you, by your hands or by time. You will wander the Earth alone drinking people to death. Every strength you have will be met with a weakness. They could take you out with a plant and a stake. You'd have hunters trying to kill you. Or kidnap you. You'll be tortured like Damon was. Being a vampire is miserable

if you don't worry about losing your humanity, sure but everywhere you go you bring death and destruction and accidents can happen and you can slip up and kill someone you may even care about someone could even cut their finger and you'd go feral if you're looking at in a total unattached 'this is just a show' way sure but if you're being realistic about it it has a lot of downsides upsides too but lottttts of downsides that people want to ignore stefan himself is an example of that he can't stand being what he is to the point where he tried offing himself

Four was good until the last couple of minutes when it turned out Stefan was somehow Silas’ doppelgänger. Which was stupid and completely ruined the plot of the importance of the Petrova doppelgängers by making them shadow twins of some random Grecian chick that fucked a dude that was already taken. Instead, Tatia had some meaning. She was the first woman that Klaus and Elijah loved, the woman whose blood was used to create the Vampire’s. Amara had no meaning, she was unimportant, annoying and just pointless. And somehow with the power of magic, Silas and Amara’s doppelgängers keep meeting up and falling in love or the fact that somehow Tatia also happened to be the woman that unwillingly helped create Vampire’s but was also the doppelgänger of one of the worlds first immortals.’I don’t know, it just doesn’t make sense. The Hollow made sense, the plot after season 4 of TVD did not. I only like TVD for nostalgia reasons now, but I do love me some TO. The acting is great, I cried for eight episodes straight in the final season of TO. I actually liked the characters compared to the ones from TVD and yet somehow both shows are written by the same people.

I feel like everytime they were on the verge of developing Elena's character, her family or friends died or she got stuck in the love triangle with Damon and Stefan. Elena could have been a great character in s3 when Alaric was teaching her self defense from vampires and Stefan lost his humanity. Bonnie is my favourite character from the show, she's strong, determined and selfless all the time. While Bonnie's character can be a lot more serious at times, Caroline is more on the fun side and I love her enthusiasm. Elena was supposed to be the most normal one out of the three of them, you know the human one. It seems like they don't know what to do with her character except for kill off her family members. I would have loved for her to be more badass and take some time off from the love triangle drama.

I haven’t watched legacies but that would come after The Originals. The Originals I would recommend, it’s better than TVD in my opinion. TVD has that more high school,love triangle thing. TO is more adult and covers the Original family (crazy I know) who are the best characters to come out of TVD, this is expanded on in their show. You would need to watch the rest of this series of TVD first I think but there is an episode which is basically the pilot of TO somewhere near the end. After that I’m not sure about crossovers. I think as far as TO goes they don’t have many crossovers so you could prob watch whenever.

Legacies is basically TVD and TO's child. It's much more diverse (without actually having it seem forced), and often tries to teach a lesson of morals (which is befitting the school theme) with occasional superhero references. It's actually rather well-crafted but because many of the older fans expect something like TVD and/or TO, quite some fail to grasp the good quality. Like, the friendships are so much better then in any of the other shows so far.

I remember the promos and stuff for it seemed to play up this idea about bad being relative and so I was looking forward to them exploring their darker natures, or just at least being more grey when it comes to morality. But what we got were a band of vanilla angels. Like they are less rebellious than the TVD cast was in high school. Hope is basically useless in her own show, all she does is babysit the most boring character in the universe LANDON! God if Sean hates Matt I almost want him to start watching Legacies so he can hate on Landon. I feel like I'm the only person that wants his character to die and thinks he has no chemistry with Hope. Lizzie is the most interesting character on the show basically because she is the only one that isn't generic. Josie was annoying from the get go. Raf is pointless to have around. MG is just your token nice guy. I do enjoy Kaleb but he is under used. Also the big bad is a joke. Just a lot of wasted opportunity so far imo.

Yes, it feels very disconnected with everything that’s happens before. Klaus and Elijah make that heartbreaking sacrifice and it feels like it’s completely ignoring it or more just putting it to the side. When the originals started it didn’t feel like we were disconnected because they had already created backstory and years of history plus really interesting characters. With legacies we hadn’t been introduced to hope all that much and what we had we wanted to now how she copes with being a tribrid and school life rather than her fighting monsters. it feels like they r just throwing things at it and seeing what happens. Alaric is great in it but I feel like they made his character very 2D
