I despise Andy’s boyfriend and friends. I CAN understand being a bit lost when a loved one transforms so drastically right in front of your eyes when the rest of you haven’t BUT it’s a well established fact that Andy wants to make it a year at runway so she can get herself a job somewhere else… and as her loved ones you’re really going to get in her way as she does the best job that she can for said year? If you really cared about Andy you’d support her in whatever SHE decided she wanted or needed to do to further her career

This was my exact takeaway from this movie. You know you're *supposed* to hate the people working at the magazine, and think her friends are these down-to-earth, relatable, cool people. Except when you actually watch the movie, it's impossible not to see the friends as ridiculous, self-absorbed teeny-boppers from a CW show. (Her boyfriend is the worst. He's like a cologne commercial's version of what a "regular guy" is. They hired this male model, and we're supposed to think he's a blue-collar joe.) Meanwhile, the people at the magazine you're supposed to hate are actually entertaining to watch.

The way this movie depicts how women must always choose between their career and their family meanwhile that isn't even a question that exists for men is discustingly accurate... That's the reason I love this movie. If Miranda had been a man, she wouldn't have had to go through so many divorces for being such a hard worker. BTW, Andy's boyfriend is a sous-chef, do you know the insane hours people pull in big restaurants? Yet he doesn't have to chose between his career and Andy either.

There was a sequel book to this called _Revenge Wears Prada_ (the author, Lauren Weisenberger, can be seen sitting beside the twins where they're on the train with the HP books and the Miranda character is supposedly based on Anna Wintour who Weisenberger used to work for). Time is precious and therefore cannot be wasted on training. And yes, extremely long hours, not all at work, your never actually done for the day, starting time and home time are suggestions so are the weekends, especially if you’re new.

If you gender flipped everything in this movie-made the main character a man whose a first year law associate at the best law firm in the country and gave him a girlfriend who behaved like Andy’s boyfriend, and friends who her acted like hers, it would be so obvious how bad that behavior is and the double standards at play. Never mind the nonsense that Andy is supposed to refuse a stellar work opportunity that her superior job performance has earned her and that SHE IS ASSIGNED because accepting it is…mean? Particularly when Emily treats Andy like crap the whole movie? A man would be considered pathetic if he didn’t step up under those circumstances. But Andy is deeply penalized for her ambition.

If I remember correctly, Meryl pulled Anthony Hopkins in this role (in Silence of the Lambs, he and Jodie [Agent Starling] didn't interact at all by his directive so they wouldn't mess up the chemistry of the two characters), and when Meryl and Anne were on set to begin actual filming, Meryl said hello etc, and then said she wouldn't speak to Anne again until filming was done. So a lot of the awkward tension that's in the scenes is quite real, given that Meryl was already an A List actress and intimidating whilst Anne was *just* breaking out in lead roles.

Most makeup lasts longer than a month, but also if you have multiple different options you go through things less quickly and save money in the long run. Also varies whether someone shops for more drug store or high end or even luxury brands. So it all varies person to person. I get a couple beauty subscription boxes which ends up saving me a lot of money on most products. So, the only things I have to repurchase regularly outside of the $35 or so I spend on those, are things that I use every day that are more particular to me (foundation/powder/moisturizer). So less than $100 definitely. Maybe $50? Sometimes not even that

-I watched this movie once, never watching it again. I completely hated Andy’s friends and I HATED HOW THE MOVIE ENDED. - I think, I also dislike Andy herself. She got to work with one of the most famous person in the fashion industry, and she didn’t even care to check who that was and then in the end she was chosen to go to Paris? Like what the hell? - and about the Tv show Ugly Betty. Betty’s character loved the fashion industry, she knew what to do, how to do. She knew the company, she knew her Boss, and the people with whom her company worked in the past. Betty loved fashion industry and wanted to work there and become someone in future. Yes, she dressed and looked ridiculous most of the time, but it was also fashionable in her own way. And here we have Andy….. who just simply got the job and for the most part of the movie hated it and made fun of other girls. Byeee

@Ks what character development you are talking about? She left the job and went back to her stupid toxic boyfriend……

@@mri3374 she left the job because she realised that being like Miranda was not what she wished to be, living a miserable life tearing others down.

@Ks also She didn't apply for the job, Miranda asked Human Resources and they sent Andy's application and contacted Andy to tell her where the interview, she probably got it at the last minute.

I used to love the iconic character of miranda priestly when this movie came out but now i just despise and pity her. The way she treated her assistants and coworkers was pure harrasment, even the underhanded business ethics were horrible. Any industry or character that promotes toxic work culture should not be admired. Period.

Geez man, you pause after every sentence in the video to make a comment. A bit much don't you think?

It's a reaction. if you don't like him to pause that much then watch the actual movie, or watch someone else. The whole point is to show what he is thinking and feeling.

Why are you pausing to talk every 10seconds?! And before anyone comes for me and reply to this comment: with him pausing every 10secs he could miss important details from the movie. I know, because I've watched another of his movie reactions and he talked so damn much until by the time the end credits came around he didn't even understand what the movie was all about. So again I say, *STOP PAUSING EVERY 10 SECONDS!!!!* 😠😡🤬
