I love that metaphorical image at 6:46 of the darkness holding on to her symbolizing her abuser finally at long last being driven away by a shining light (the light symbolizes Deku and his friends who care about her) that gives her the courage to finally smile. That smile on Eri Chan’s face is what All Might’s teachings and philosophy are all about... giving people a reason to smile no matter what they’ve been through in life. If ever there was a moment in the entire series that could sum up what My Hero Academia it’s all about... this is it.

Gentle didn't want to be someone forgotten by the world, even if a tiny bit, Gentle wanted to leave a mark. It's just unfortunate that he decided that doing crime was the only way he can leave his name in history. La Brava is simply much easier to explain, she just wanted to love and have it be acknowledged. Gentle became her light when her world turned dark.

You don't understand; Eri is one of the extreme few in the BNHA universe who has 2 quirks without becoming a nomu. First Quirk: Rewind Second Quirk: Bright Smile Whenever Eri puts on a bright smile, she can make anyone witnessing that smile tear up! The brighter her smile, the longer and heavily the person cries! This second quirk was too effective against Overhaul that he had no choice but to suppress that smile by committing unethical actions!

I love how Deku went easy on Gentle. He could see that underneath his selfishness and criminal acts that he was still a genuinely good guy so he gave him an opportunity at redemption. I would love it for Deku to accept Gentle and La Brava as his sidekicks once he gets his own hero agency and once Gentle is done repaying his debt to society.

God, if wholesomeness could kill, this episode would be classified as a weapon of mass destruction. Jiro looking so happy and passionate during the performance, Nejire's beauty contest victory, Gentle and La Brava's hope of a second chance, and of course the cherry on top- our sweet baby Eri smiling at last(plus Mirio's reaction). All the torment of the first half of the season, Deku's resolve to save the school festival...it all pays off here, and Bones and Horikoshi did a spectacular job at making it satisfying.

Ok, the 3 things to note. 1 On the manga the 2 guys who by the way were of general studies said "We wanted you guys to fail." 2 On the manga Houndog actually sent Midoriya flying with a hit and he fell on I forgot who, someone else also said "Hey look, a flying Midoriya." 3 The same guy who was saying Yaoyorozu during 1A's performance was saying Kendo during the beauty pageant; it's 1 fan club of both because of the commercial. Did you notice Shinzo appearing? Also Bakugo said, what did you say (or thought it) when playing, apparently Jirou added notes or something for him to say that XD

12:23 if you go back to, I believe, the second episode of season one, you can see the parallel between deku and gentle when all might tells deku "you can be a hero too". gentle needed to hear those words, but because he didn't have that role model, that sunshine within the darkness, he strayed off the hero path.

Ah man, Jiro's flashback of her convo with her parents about pursuing hero work set me up perfectly. And when the shadow just blew away with 1-A's sound and Jiro's voice revealing that beautiful sweet smile of Eri's, I was done in. Tears were racing each other down my cheeks, I was a right mess! Gosh, I loved everything about it. One of my favorites and I have enjoyed and anticipated each episode equally as much as the first half of this season despite the tone being different throughout. Anyways, loved your reaction very much, Gentle and La Brava are so sweet and their love just feels so pure between them. I don't know how long it will be before the studio and VA's are able to work again but it'll be a pleasure to return and listen to/watch this arc in English as well. I have watched both Sub and Dub repeatedly because I think both are well done. Hopefully, you will rewatch it too and I will have the additional pleasure of revisiting your reaction to this again! The last two episodes will work well together. Also it’s worth noting we don’t know what happened to Gentle and Labrave. And the police were trying to recruit Labrava.
