Quito has a ton of turbulence due to the altitude and terrain. Just expect to shake as you land, but the pilots are used to it. I have to say my landings there weren't bad, but one takeoff was truly epic. We were careening around the sky for five straight minutes.

@@tbh..35 My parents flew on an Alitalia flight years ago from Rome to NYC and they loved the Italian crowd. When the Captain said the people on the left would get a great view all the people on the right stood up and charged to the left sticking cameras to the windows, leaning over the passengers sitting there all loudly cheering and hooting. Such a lively fun atmosphere my parents said!

The a340 along with the 747 and A380 are just such amazing aircraft. I hate that 4 engine aircraft are being phased out. I will always pay more to fly on one.

The whole approach was very turbulent as you can see on the shaky camera handling, the wingtip going up and down because the pilot has to compsensate gusty winds or passengers moaning in the backround.

FlightExperience Incorrect, the up and and down movement of the wings isn't controlled by the pilots. It is a natural part of turbulence due to scattered disturbed air which shakes the wing. Therefore, the shaking of the wings is a prefix to turbulence. Additionally, another invalid part of your shitty comment, it's compensate**, not "compsensate".
