Great video! You describe the CFMOTO 800 Ibex perfectly! It is set up comfortable for touring but yes it feels like it has a little off-road something something in it. And you are exactly right it does run very smooth. I was impressed. And it was just announced that there's going to be a 2 to 3 months delay on the 450MT coming to the United States because of some kind of emissions inspection crap. Otherwise I would have one right now

I’m not convinced just yet. That “hard”trail was easier than the “easy” trails (2/10 onX Offroad rating) near me. I’m thinking Old Flowers Road in CO, and that trail kicks my butt. It looks promising so far! I’d love to hear more about the gearing (short or tall end), how much you have to feather the clutch, is it tippy (lean angle comparison), how does it handle steep climbs etc. Thanks for the good work so far.

Looks like huge fun - will be interested to see how you got on the long haul asphalt, especially the big interstate highway sections, getting to the trails on the 450MT. This will be key in a lot of peoples decision to buy or not, as we know it’s great on the trials from the numerous reviews.

People need to stop commenting about Chinese build quality issues. People gave Japan a hard time over it in the 70s, then the Koreans in the 80s. They already supply engines and other components left and right to sorts of European and Japanese brands that we haven't found significant fault with for years. The fact is the Chinese manufacturers are taking risks and developing bikes people actually want, as opposed to the old guard who favour bold new graphics far too much.
@Rabb_L_Rouser3 ай бұрын
@@イエンスヨハンセン you’re right, the quality should be good because if all of the design piracy that Chinese manufacturers do. So it’s basically a Honda motor since china is incapable of creating anything on their own.

Jake is from State Farm right? 😂 glad y’all had a good time. Maybe CFmoto will give you an Ibex450 to thrash on next summer. The new CFmoto Ibex and Himalayan 450s are definitely throwing down the gauntlet and aim to gain some serious marketshare. What strikes me is the Japanese manufacturers either got caught with their pants down, or aren’t serious about what the market place wants.
@Liberty4Ever4 ай бұрын
The Japanese Big Four, KTM and BMW refused for decades to sell us a lightweight ADV thumper that was off road oriented but with the power to comfortably cruise on the highway. That's how they forced us to buy their heavy and expensive 800-1300 cc "adventure" bikes. CF Moto, Kove and others will eat their market share, and deservedly so. The customer is always right. It's sad it took this long.

A modern 450 cc engine is the sweet spot for ADV, assuming your idea of adventure is woods and trails and not super slab highway. We've been begging the industry for a lightweight off road oriented 450-650 cc single cylinder ADV bike that has enough power for comfortable highway cruising for decades. CF Moto has stepped up and made a good first showing with their 450 Ibex, although I'd like it a little lighter, even knowing it would be more expensive. Now the moto cartel that conspired to force us to buy their bloated Starbucks adventure bikes will need to finally offer something like the Ibex 450 or they'll lose a lot of market share to CF Moto.
@anxiousappliance4 ай бұрын
I worry about the KTM 790 engine, not the Chinese manufacture. Haven't heard complaints about cfmoto, so the issue seems to be KTM has problems building to modern standards.

KTM and BMW too. They all ignored us for a very long time because they wanted to sell us their heavy and expensive 800-1300 cc "adventure" bikes. When they relented and were forced to make smaller ADV bikes, they were deliberately under powered for highway use and heavier than they should have been. The Ibex 450 could be lighter too, but it's much closer than the Big Moto cartel offerings.

To me the the Ibex/CF Moto 450 is not an option. I see max seat height possible is only 820mm, while the Himalayan 450 goes up to 855mm which makes a big difference. At 820mm, if you try increase the space between your feet and your rear end the only way left is to drop the height of the foot pegs. That means your even closer to the ground than you already are before you add a real skid plate. No thanks. The bike is designed for buyers in the largest motorbike market in the world and what most call ROW. Not the US and other similar markets where the average rider is a literary a few inches taller and weights 30-50lbs more.
@The_RC_Guru4 ай бұрын
Oh man if only there was a way to make the seat a touch taller. Yep you’re right this must absolutely be a useless piece of trash thing with 2 mostly round wheels and an engine that does seem to make noise. Past that yep complete garbage 🗑️. You are the only one right, definetly not the dozens of people who’ve been riding and reviewing them in person showing every aspect. Cfmoto should just close their business down today in shame at being such a failure.
