For the first 20ish hours, I didn't know you'd still get the same amount of food if you lose. Once I finally lost a game and saw that I still got the food, I was pretty relieved. Getting those meta progression upgrades is so important and those mostly cost food. The other resources can be gotten from challenges, and you can do those at lower difficulties closer to the citadel if you really need them, but most important is food.

Awesome tips! I would love to see a video that involves: -Buildings and road placement (including building rotation / placement of gathering camps, repositioning your woodcutter camps, etc.) -Villager travelling time / carrying mechanics and optimization, etc. Basically, mechanics that optimize the movement / actions of your villagers completing their tasks :)

To prevent burning coal as a fuel source right off the hop you are able to go into the settings and eliminate it as a default. This way it never accidentally gets used up. Personally, I also like to turn disable all recipe ingredients by default so that nothing you don't want to be used up gets thrown into production.

Thanks for the good tips. I even changed the woodcutting default action in the game settings menu to "avoid glades except marked". This makes it easier to control when (which season) to open glades to secure a bonus if available. PS: The queen lost her patience with me the first 6 games before I managed to get my first win, but I still enjoyed it and I find it fair and transparent enough to understand where the settlement development went sideways.

I've been watching your old playlist for this game, so glad you made a new video! Thanks for making these. I love this game, it skips all the annoying stuff about most city builders like clunky UI and drawn out end games and just provides pure city-building goodness 😍

When you build camps (herbalist, trapper etc) should you build them immediately next to the resource or leave a 1 square gap? Same question for the woodcutters
@Ic0nGaming Жыл бұрын
I personally like to leave a tiny gap towards the closest warehouse. And try to align the entrance in a manner that it is the shortest way for both warehouse delivery and the resource node. You always gotta keep the harversters and their way to the logistics node in mind for the placement. Hope this helps

Yes hot keys would be nice. Thanks

Hello Icon, nice video! Been watching all your guides for this game. I wanted to ask you if It is worth It to build shelters and houses taking care of the entrances for the buildings. I use a lot of space making sure every house has a connection to the road but i dont know if the villagers ever interact with their houses. I also try to build them next to the heart. Would be nice a little video maybe talking about buildings layout. Thank you for your effort!

Nitpick -- you can absolutely neutralize the Hostility meter and make it completely irrelevant. But it requires a very specific combination of blueprints and cornerstones to achieve. I've gotten to Year 10 before with 3 full Woodcutters and only the starting Hearth, opening every Glade along the way, but my Hostility was zero.

Yeah there are ways and means. But I won't promote that actively on a beginners video

Honestly, the rates at the crude workstation are so bad that, pre-prestige 10, consider just selling the raw materials you would use and buying the finished product. It's faster and you don't need to build and man a workstation. It's a good idea if you have the blueprints for more specializing building material generators already you want to build.

This is a disturbingly good advice. :D

Need to check this out. I use the crude and makeshift industry to get desperately needed resources but with the idea to replace them asap. I do this especially if I have difficulties to place a trader camp soon enough outside of the feel-good area of the hearth.
