Let's face it, ice cream is ruined. This movie is a guilty "so bad it's good" pleasure for me. Clint Howard is always so enthusiastic and humble, it's hard to hate the man. Hell, he's the reason the MTV Movie Awards killed off their "Lifetime Achievement Award" because when Clint won, he was legitimately touched by it and treated it like an Oscar.

It was about this supernatural ice cream truck who drives around the streets at night, hoping to trap kids inside it. The main character in that episode was played by Robert Capron, best known for playing Rowley in the _Diary Of A Wimpy Kid_ movies.

I also have more respect for Clint Howard--not that I didn't respect him before, but I never noticed what a great actor he is. He's a totally ordinary guy outside the movie, but makes himself so hideous and hilariously creepy. I also love when you movie reviewers don't hide your delight for these hilariously bad movies.

Clint Howard screamed and yelled at the top of his lungs while driving in a car every day to the set in order to have a more gravelly voice for his role as Gregory. This movie was sponsored in part by the Converse shoe company. Many characters wear Converse shoes, especially the classic Chuck Taylor All-Stars. There is also an extraordinary number of shots of shoes throughout the entire film. Mashed potatoes were used as a substitute for ice cream in a lot of shots. The scenes at the sanitarium were shot at an actual abandoned sanitarium in Pasadena, California. Moreover, the Satanic drawings and graffiti were already on the walls. The filmmakers originally wanted to secure a PG-13 rating for the movie. JoJo Adams had a pillow tucked under his shirt to make him look fatter for his role as Tuna. The movie was more of a spoof on the horror genre in an earlier draft of the screenplay. The sound effect of one of the victims screaming has been recycled in K-fee commercials. Jan-Michael Vincent was drunk lot of times on set. Explained why during the asylum escape, instead of looking like detectives split up, Vincent wandered off. When the detectives make it to the car, he's sort of solving stumbling back to the car.

I remember being up really late at night with one of my ex-girlfriends and this movie came on the TV on one of her movie channels. We were mesmerized the whole time, watching it. It turned into one of the most glorious "bad movie nights" that we had ever had.
