I fixed one of these machines once, it was a faulty bin sensor……but i did not know anything about the general theory of operation….thank you…I have often wondered where to get training on such machines…

Great videos. I bought a home with a Whirlpool Under Counter Ice Machine GI15NDXZS1 manufactured 5-16. It is making ice but the ice sheet comes out super thin like maybe an 1/8". In the last 24 hours it has barely filled the bottom of the bin. I have removed the filter in case it was clogged and it did not make a difference. I definitely have good water pressure going to the unit with no kinks in the hoses. I also bought the Affresh ice machine cleaner solution and performed a cleaning cycle. Nothing has made a difference. The cycle times seem to be about 15 minutes in fast ice mode and 22-23 minutes in regular ice mode. Can you tell me how to put the machine in diagnostic mode to try and troubleshoot the problem? I am wondering if it just needs an adjustment on the amount of time it freezes the water before releasing the thin ice sheet. Can you help? I will be happy to send a contribution to TMM Appliance Network.

Excellent video! We have the exact same icemaker. It is only making very thin ice. What might be causing that? ( I have replaced the filter. I have checked the water line. Clean the machine twice. I even reset a control board. It is making ice… But it is only making very thin ice. Any suggestions? Thank you so much!

Depending on which control board you have, there are three settings for Thin, Normal and Thick Ice. I believe newer boards it can be set using the manual diagnostic cycle test where ice thickness can be set in step ten.

I need a service manual for kitchenaid kuic15phzs0 same unit.. just picked it up for $25.. previous owner stated it leaked water.. should be an easy fix.. havent had time to hook it up and investigate.. anyone know where i can download the service manual pdf?

I have same machine . Water supply keeps running . Even during ice cycle . What could cause the to happen ?

@@whitebear1903 I guess the machine will purge water for ten mins before it start a ice cycle . It does have a water level sensor located by the pump .
