6:40 You can easily find a USB C header to USB A header adapter on Ali and while it won't work at full USB C speeds, it's better to have a functional port than a dummy port. Aliexpress is actually great for such parts, countless adapters, FAN / ARGB splitters, controllers, etc.

I enjoy grinding at the search results of AliExpress to find some truly unique PC parts. I found some Zhaoxin and Hygon boards. Like, one has to learn how to word the search properly to find things. Hygon, which is like Zen 1, is priced at +$650. So, I can't bring myself to buy one of those. The cheapest Zhaoxin board is $150, but it's a HP 268 G1 Pro board, so it needs the special HP PSU. Fun to find, but I'm not going to buy. I'm American, so I am curious how AliExpress prices will be come February. Best to buy tech now.

i knew the 5700x3d would be featured here before i clicked the video - that thing is unbeatable value. extremely strong performance for only £130 shipped, i'd still recommend it over almost any other cpu for gaming. i wouldn't buy everything from there (a 2tb ssd for £12 seems a bit suspicious) but for the basics ali is unbeatable. i recently picked up some thermal pads for 70p and knocked like 8c off my vram temps, even ebay can't match that.

I just built myself a budget PC to get back into PC gaming. Last PC I built, LED single-color fans were the new big thing. 😂😂😂 Practically the identical build as thenone featured, even the case.. Except I went with the Radeon RX 6650 XT and 2 2TB SSDs. I am able to run pretty much everything at high or extreme settings @1080p no problem. Never dips below 80fps. I have not tried Cyberpunk yet though... that seems to be this generation's Crysis. 😂 I was worried cus the GPU was some no-name brand but its still a 6650 XT, it runs great. The fans hardly ever even kick on. Only issue is, I gotta install the things I wanna play on the C drive with the OS. Running stuff from the 2nd drive puts strain on the system. Easy enough cus Steam lets you move entire installed games between drives.

I still have a Corsair H45 AIO cooling my CPU. I bought it back in 2018 but didn't end up using it for some reason. When I switched to AMD for my CPU I couldn't use it either because I couldn't find the mounting bracket for AMD sockets. Somehow I eventually found those brackets this year in my drawer of many things, a place I can search several times a day and find something different on each of them. It annoys me a little bit because it can't be mounted with the Corsair logo in the proper orientation, only lying on its side.

Prices are correct. It's just that we Europeans get the VAT already applied when shopping on Aliexpress (has been like this for 2 years by now). I'd say it's better that way, although for purchases over 150€ we'll get custom duties: Thus the 5700X3D is a crappy deal (170€+ eventual customs for over 200€ total) and it's better getting it from an European site instead.

@@GLDragon93 There are times where you can get it for under €150 with discounts. Personally I've seen it as low as €140. Using the mobile app tends to give you higher chances of encountering good deals with extra discounts. Also even if something is above the €150 you might get lucky and have it pass through customs without being caught by them. That's especially nice if you are buying something that costs more than €180ish, because then they remove the VAT from the price and it's up to you to pay customs, but if it doesn't get caught at customs you basically save that 20%(or however the VAT is in the country you are living). High chance of happening with smaller sized items(CPU, RAM, SSD, less known phone brands). For some reason they don't remove the VAT for items priced between €150 and €180ish, so it's always best to avoid items at that price range, because if that item gets caught at customs, you will essentially have to pay VAT twice. Once on AliExpress and once at customs and they don't really care at customs that you already paid the VAT on AliExpress or at least it seems that way.

I'm not really sure why the ROG B550-A is even that expensive now. That's about what I paid for mine new a few years ago. On top of that it has the typical ROG issues. It's a great board and all, but it seems to use the NIC (Intel) I225-V, which is known for being defective at factory level. The issue is that you can't fully utilize the 2.5 GB Ethernet, as it starts showing issues when going above 1 Gigabit for a lot of people. Since I knew beforehand I won't be able to use any 1000Mbps+ internet I decided to get it anyway (it was 30€ cheaper than the MSI Tomahawk).

These "gaming" upper end of motherboards seems to hold their price since years ago. I was looking for one since im still using an a320. Its kindof pointless but would be pretty nice so i can slot in 32GB of rams. Bonus points they look nicer and i can actually do overclock/better RAM speed&timings or slot in an X3D chips whenever their prices went down more. Went shopping for used ones. Shocked by the prices, and looked for new ones. Even more baffled seeing they both basically costs the same as they did years ago. I guess alot of people are still buying these boards and or stores would rather hold their stock. For more context, these B550 boards im looking at costs as much as their B650 AM5 equivalent now :) Ridiculous. Guess i'll just grab an AM5 next year or something.

@@toufusoup Yup it has 2 USB headers to be precise. Moreover the board has a USB-C port in the back along with 6 USB ports (+1 for Bios flashback). I'd say there's enough. The only shitty part is the defective NIC I225-V by Intel, making it unusable with anything higher than 1000Mbps connections unless you get a PCI-E Ethernet card

i actually did a build with a motherboard that didnt have usb-c and a case that did. i used a usb-c to usb 2.0 converter and it actually worked. yea it was usb 2.0 speeds but it was nice to use my usb-c thumb drive still.
