Fun facts: Vidal was signed to MCA records during the filming of the 2nd season of 'Taina' in late 2001-early 2002. When MCA folded, it was merged into Interscope records. Jimmy Iovine (the CEO) was the one who sat down with Christina and asked if she wanted to be the lead singer for his new girl group, the Pussycat Dolls. She turned that down.

So Dan foot fettish Schinder wanted producing control over Taina. But Christina saw through him from the jump. Hence why the show got canceled
@KRSonbe Жыл бұрын
No, this show had no affiliation with Schneider. Infact, I think that was another reason why the show got axed. It was canceled mostly due to her signing that record deal with MCA records during the second season (a conflict of interest for Nickelodeon) but also because the Nickelodeon execs kept clashing with her team, who were refusing her to be overworked. But I definitely believe Nickelodeon has had overtfavortism to Schneider for years & gave him a lot of privilege. Because of this, shows that weren't from him started getting shafted quickly from the network regardless of the ratings, starting in the early 2000s.

Thank you for the video. I liked the show back in the day as a child & it just suddenly disappeared. Call me crazy but I think since the show didn't have an affiliation with their one & only Dan Schneider, Nick didn't care for it as much. And since Christina didn't roll over and obey everything Nick wanted her to do (including the unethical stuff), they cancelled her show. When you notice, the stars that Nick has pushed in the past (Amanda Bynes, Drake Bell, Jamie Lynn Spears, Miranda Cosgrove, Victoria Justice, the Naked Brothers Band) were all stars of Schneider's shows. Or at least signed to Nick records like the boys of 'Big Time Rush' were. Had "Taina" been produced by Dan "Get in the Van" Schneider and Christina signed to Nick records (instead of MCA), they would've renewed the show for a 3rd season and regularly aired reruns. They also would've accepted Christina & her management's reasonable requests regarding the child labor laws.
